Well I'm using bootcamp and I've no space left and I want to format it... where can I buy an original DVD with the latest compatible version?

*just one more thing, I'm from Portugal and i'm not very confortable with mac os:) I'm a man of PC but I need your help please.
The only way to buy Lion or Mt Lion is through the Mac App store and to get a link to the Mac App store you need to be running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or higher.
So whether or not your Mac can run either Lion or Mt Lion is irrelevant until you install Snow Leopard and update that to 10.6.8 through Software Update.

Received a message today that iTunes needed to reinstalled but when attempting to do so I get a message 'Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services' ???
I am having this same problem. I took Kappy advice on restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service, however that did not work. I got this message in a pop up window that came up immediately.
Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.
Can anyone please help? -

You certainly could not have bought FCPX via itunes. It can only be purchased using the Mac App Store. If you are indeed looking in iTunes, you won't find it. Start the Mac App Store application - it is right there in the Apple menu on your mac = make sure you are logged in with the same Apple ID used to purchase it and it should be there for you. -

I purchased Design Standard CS6 the entire package. I downloaded and installed but I was continually having problems with Adobe Acrobat Pro. I tried updating to the newest version but it only made the problems worse (acrobat was super slow and constantly not responding). So i decided to try to uninstall and then reinstall the program. Well I uninstalled, and then attempted to reinstall ONLY the adobe acrobat pro but it says my serial number (which is for design standard) will not work. Since Acrobat Pro is included in the suite, i thought this wouldnt be a problem. Is there anyway to get around this without uninstalling the entire design standard and reinstalling everything? I only need to reinstall acrobat pro.
You need to reinstall Acrobat the the Creative Suite, you cannot download it is a separate application and install it that way because it will be looking for a serial number relative to being a singly purchased application.

I need to reinstall CS5 Design Standard on a new computer. I have uninstalled it on old computer, but now realize I am missing a disk. I have tried multiple avenues to track down the link for reinstalling this software, but have had no luck. Please provide a link where I can download software that I have already purchased on a disc. I have all of my serial numbers, and I can see the purchases in my account. But I can't find the download link. the one I was provided was not correct. Thanks for the help.

We had the laptop updated by way of a system upgrade with RAM and an additional SSD drive. Once reconfigured all programs were reinstalled but Iphoto is not among them. Iphoto was on the laptop when purchased so we have no additional discs. Before the laptop was updated we backed the photos up to an extrenal hard drive so we have them, but cant access them. Could I purchase Iphoto 8 stll? Would this work? We would also require an external CD drive as we no longer have the disc drive in the laptop (I think the extra new bits took over). You may have noticed I have very limited knowledge on computers so any help dispite how simple it may sound to some would help me greatly. I just want all my photos back .... Thanks inadvance... Hope to hear soon x

Re: Equium P300-P6T - dual boot, need to reinstall but cannot access recovery
Hi
Have got a friends EQUIUM P300-P6T that he would like me to fix but having problems recovering.
He currently has windows 7 and WXP installed on separate partitions so can choose which OS to boot when loading. The factory for the laptop is Vista but he has replaced that with 7.
However, some of the booting files in Vista have become corrupt and cannot be fixed by the windows recovery so looks like a new install of Vista is needed.
This should not seem a problem but:
a) I tried holding 0 down as I switch on to access the recovery partition (which does still exist as I can see it there from within computer management if I load xp) but it does nothing so I cannot recover from the recovery partition.
b) I tried reinstalling Vista onto that partition using a vista OEM disc however, where it it gets to the stage of "completing install" the progress bar stays the same place forever about 3/4 of the way through as though it has crashed.
c) I did manage to get an install of windows 7 on it however when I loaded it, it would not recognise the keyboard or touchpad (even though no problem with the drivers for each) yet the cursor could be moved with a USB mouse plugged in. Also, the boot partition now gave a choice of "xp, vista, older windows installations".
I have now put the computer back to the original state it was in for the time being. However, the route I would like to go down is to use the recovery partition to restore Vista and the factory settings on that particular partition.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can do this or what my best solution is? Like I say, holding 0 down whilst booting has no effect yet the recovery partition is still existent on the hard drive.
Unfortunately there are no recovery media that I have access to.
ThanksHi
The whole story is very interesting and I would like to help somehow. Your posting is pretty long with very useful information but, if I understand you right, you just want to install original Vista recovery image. Can you confirm this?
If you have more questions please ask one by one and then we can answer them one by one.
Anyway, if your answer is YES here is my explanation:
Recovery image saved on HDD can be used with factory settings only. With other words: when original recovery image is installed you will have full access to this recovery image. In case that some other OS is installed (Win7 or WXP) this original state will be overwritten and you will lose this recovery option ( HDD recovery installation ). Only way ti have factory settings again is to use recovery DVD disc. If your friend didnt create this disc (ignoring Toshibas recommendation) than you have big problem now.
Please tell us one more time what are your options now. what do you want to do now? -
Can't open Photoshop CC-says need to reinstall but won't reinstall
I activated the free trial and used Photoshop- it was perfect. Now 2 days later, when I try to open the application, an error message comes saying that some application components are missing from the application directory and to please reinstall the application. But, when I go to the Create Cloud Installer and click on Photoshop, it says "up to date" in the column and won't reinstall or do anything really.... I tried putting the existing app in the trash, but that's not helping....

MacBook Air needs system reinstall but has no CD slot
I have a MacBook Air, laptop. OS 10.6.8. I can't give you the processor speed, memory and storage capacity because my computer won't restart. I get as far as the Apple and the gear spinning and nothing else happens. I then tried to restart in Safe Mode, but it does the same thing. I tried different options, just "Option," just "Option-Command R", just "Shift R" -- the various ways that I found in the Apple forum to get to Safe Mode. But I just get the Apple with the spinning gear.
I did get to the HARDDRIVE symbol when I just used the "Option" to restart the computer. But there were no other options -- just the image of the HD sitting there. I clicked on it but it just went to Apple and the spinning gear.
I read if I could reinstall the system, it would reinstall over any issues I may have, and at least leave all the data that exists on my computer; however, how would I reinstall the system if the MacBook Air has no CD slot?
I get these suggestions to use the disk utility or repair permissions, etc, but if one cannot even start their computer, there is no way to access anything on it to repair. I first have to be able to access the computer itself and/or reinstall the system.
Hope someone can help. ThanksBy using the MacBook Air's original thumbdrive.

I am trying to reinstall cs3 But the download instructions say: "Before you begin additional installations or reinstallations, please make sure the installer is in the same location or drive it was during the original installation." But that program is not even in my computer anymore. so how am I supposted to do that?
Many thanks diesel. I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates. Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. Any ideas on how I could find it ? Many thanks anyway. I always use a password to sign on but obviously that is not it. Eileen

I think I need to reinstall, but not sure how?
I borrowed my best friend's MacBook OS X 10.4.11 while he is over seas. It was working fine, but now when I turn it on it shows a gray screen, then the apple, then the circle with a slash through it, then a folder with a question mark blinking! I can't get in it to do any type of Disk Utility and I don't have the disks What should I do? Please help, I don't want him coming home to a broken laptop.
If you are very lucky it could be a minor issue that might be resolved with running disk repair. Normally you would do this booted to an installer disc, but since you don't have that you can try effecting repairs using [fsk in Single User Mode|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214]. Also [Post by japamac about using fsk|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1649143&tstart=0]
Here's the Apple document on the issue you report, but I don't see much of help to you in it since it is somewhat dated and you don't have the installer discs.
[Mac OS X: "Broken folder" icon, prohibitory sign, or kernel panic when computer starts|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1892?viewlocale=en_US]
If you don't have the installer discs you can't replace the broken operating system and there's not much you can do until you get them. When you do you would need to use the archive and install feature, selecting to keep preferences and other configuration files.
My preference would also be to back up any critical files before doing any repair techniques. The only way you can do that at this stage is if you have another Mac and can start the problem one in Target disk mode and then copy the files onto the good Mac.
