I need to reinstall Final Cut Studio 2 in Lion

Please, sorry for my english.
Well, past week i upgrade to Lion. Everything is perfect, but i has Final Cut Studio 2 installed, everything goes ok, but today, i need to run Cinema Tools, and it crashes every time i try to.
I think the only thing i can do is reinstall Cinema Tools, but i can't install FCS 2 in Lion.
¿Any Solution?
I've paid for FCS and it is what i need now to work, i dont need FCS3 or FCPX, i don't wanna pay for it. But i need Cinema Tools running....
Thanks.

Cinema Tools is crashing on my brand new MacBook Pro as well. I can reinstall everything but FCP. However, reinstalling Cinema Tools has not solved anything. It still won't open.

  • Major meltdown - Can't seem to reinstall Final Cut Studio 6

    Hello All,
My Final Cut stopped working. Specifically, it couldn't find the compressor application. I decided to "zero out" my MacBook Pro, and reinstall the operating system. I intended to then reinstall Final Cut Studio 6.
All went well with the "zero out" and reinstallation of the OS Mac OS X (10.4.11). However, when I attempt to reinstall FCP 6, after the first audio content 1 disc, the system asks for the reinsertion of the Final Cut Studio Install disc. I then get a message that the installation failed, and please try again.
Well, I've tried 5 times, and no success.
Can someone advise where to from here. I'm dead in the water.
    Thank you.
    DG

While Apple may not be supporting FCP 6 any more, FCP 6 should definitely still install on your OS. You also should be aware that FCP 7 is not supported on OS X 10.4 so if you do choose to upgrade, you will need to also buy Leopard or Snow Leopard.

  • Reinstalling Final Cut Studio question

It looks like we will have to reinstall Final Cut Studio 2 and the operating system (Leopard) on one of our iMacs.  We have the serial numbers and know which goes to each machine, but the DVD disk sets were all stored together and not marked.  Does it matter if we use the wrong set of DVDs?

is there a way to import DV from the canon xl1 in to FCPX?? I have a firewire cable to the mac but still no feed from camera. sorry to but in your convo by the way. i really need some help.

  • How works final cut studio with lion?

how works final cut studio with lion?

The thing to take from FCPX is that it isn't an update/upgrade from 7. It's an entirely new editor. As a professional video editor myself for 5 years, I felt just as hesitant as you when I first saw what Apple had done. However, I committed myself to biting the bullet for a little while to get comfortable with the new workflow, and I can vouch for Apple's new move toward this type of setup. It has improved my workflow enough to where I can confidently say I deliver projects, on average, in half the time, with no sacrifice to quality.
Give it another chance, if you can afford it. With a bit of training, and time into using it, you'll see it's a superior editor to FCP 7

  • Reinstall Final Cut Studio 7

I'm running a MacPro, just upgraded to Yosemite when I had to replace my home hard drive.  I had to trash Final Cut Studio 7.  Can I reinstall it from the original DVD's?  Will it run on Yosemite?
    Thanks,  Robert

Yes, you can install it. Note that the versions of MOTION and COMPRESSOR that come with it won't work.  If you need those, you need to buy the current, stand alone versions.
Because COMPRESSOR won't work, that means that you cannot SEND TO Compressor, nor SHARE to compress the videos.

  • TS1110 How do I reinstall Final Cut Studio 7

    1. I used FCS_Revover to uninstall Final Cut Studio 7, and I deleted all files in Library/Receipts.
    2. Used my Final Cut Studio disc to re-install, entered my name, serial number,... upto "installation type" step, Final Cut Pro is set to "skip".
What else should I do to be able to reinstall Final Cut Pro 7?

    1. Get the free "Preference Manager" from Digital Rebellion (dot com) and trash FCP's preferences.
    2. Make sure all hard drives on your system have at least 15% of their total capacity as free space.
    3. Make sure you've not set your OS drive as your Scratch Drive.
    4. Run Disk Utility to repair all drives.
    5. Run Disk Warrior if none of the above helps.
It's very rare that you need to re-install a Mac app to make it work right.  Most problems like yours can be solved much more easily, and are due to issues a re-install won't help.

  • Reinstalling final cut studio

so i have to do an archive install. but i've read that i also should reinstall programs such as final cut studio. it might be easier to just wipe the hard drive and do fresh install, but we'll see. do i have to un-install final cut studio or can i install it on top of itself? how does that work?

I do understand the reluctance to do a wipe and reinstall. Still, if you are organized and methodical, it will go fast enough.
Herein are X's rules for a happy experience.
    • Make a list of all Applications to install. Which ones do you need? Go through your Applications and Utilities folder and note which ones you'll want to reinstall. Note the version.
(I don't know about you, but I had a shocking number of apps I downloaded, used for a few times and never used again. Forget installing these disused apps.)
    • If you are upgrading from a PPC to an intel machine, you'll want to know if the apps are UB or PPC. Upgrading your PPC software to UB can be a significant cost in a PPC to intel conversion. Know what you are getting into - do a search before installation to see if there is a UB version available. You can find out whether an app is PPC or UB by looking in System Profiler>Software>Applications. This window will also tell you the current installed version number. Generate a .pdf file of it and have everything listed for your records.
    • In the list, note whether is was a download or you have a disk. If it was a download, find the DMG or installer package and copy it to an external firewire drive. Put it in a folder titled - Apps to be installed - or something easily identifiable.
    • If you need to go back to a previous version (e.g. QT 6.5.2) download the dmg file BEFORE you start the installation process.
    • In the list, note if the application is a full install or an UPGRADE. If an upgrade, make sure you have the previous version's disks (as well as the serial numbers - see below).
If the UPGRADE version does not require the previous version to be present - eg when installing the upgrade version of FCP 6, DO NOT install earlier software. All you'll need is the previous serial number. The way to figure this out is to try to install the newest version. If it needs the previous version present before proceeding, the install process will tell you that.
Some upgrades will require that a version of the previous app is on the disk. If this is the case, when you install the first version, simply install the minimum so the app will be on the hard drive. You will need to do this because there will be NOTHING on the disk after you do your clean erase.
    • Referencing your list, find ALL your disks before you start. This includes previous versions if you are unsure whether they will be needed.
    • Spend some time looking through this forum for Professional Application installation issues. The classic example is a conflict between Logic and FCP. Install FCP first and you'll have no issues.
    • Sort your list into an installation sequence. Lay out your disks in that order.
    • Referencing the list, make sure you have ALL your serial numbers including those you've downloaded. I've purchased a number of programs on line and the only documentation of the serial number was an email. All those are kept in a dedicated folder in Mac Mail. For serial numbers that arrived via electronic means, use cut and paste instead of re-typing whenever possible. This will prevent errors in transcription.
In making the list, TEXT EDIT works ok, (I use Excel). Text edit has the benefit of being easily readable on any mac. Print the list out for reference, put a copy on a flash drive or a firewire drive where you can access it to cut and past serial numbers during the installation process.
    • Download Carbon Copy Cloner or one of the other backup utilities and do a full backup of your existing system drive to an external firewire drive. Make the drive bootable. *Do not* cheap out on this as this is your insurance policy. If you forget something or can not find a serial number, you often can find it and copy it from the backup system to the newly installed version. Or, if things go horribly wrong, you can simply copy the old system back to your computer and pick up where you left off.
    • Recognize this is going to take some time. Ranting, drinking too much coffee, swearing, sitting in front of the computer watching the progress bar, etc will not make things go faster. All it will to is put you in a really bad frame of mind. Do it over a weekend when you can be multitasking. While you are cleaning off the mountains of paper on your desk or raking the yard, you can take regular breaks to check on progress.
    Process -
    • Once you have gathered and organized all the materials and backed up the drive ...
    • Erase the hard drive. Use the ZEROs option as this will map out any bad sectors. This will take time. See the note above.
    • Install the OS. If it is an upgrade install, see the note above regarding upgrade installs. Repair Permissions and then run the updates. Repair Permissions.
    • Install your applications following your list. Make sure to Repair Permissions after each install and update..
Have fun, be prepared for a few minor glitches. If you multitask, you can get the garage/ or office cleaned out and your computer rebuilt. In all honesty, this process took all weekend plus time in the next week as I discovered apps that needed additional updates, configuration settings, etc. No doubt it would have been faster if I was sitting at the console the whole time, but I was able to get the office cleaned up and organized (which also makes ME much faster). Overall it was a very slick process.
When you have a fully functioning system again, CLONE the new system and put your info, your notes and the disks in a safe place - once you've done this once, why go through the pain of organizing this stuff again ...
Now, rejoice in a much faster machine with a lot more free disk space.
    Cheers,
    x

  • Need Help Installing Final Cut Studio Version 2.0.1 on Macbook Pro

I am trying to install an old version of Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Studio Version 2.0.1) on my macbook pro (OS X Mountain Lion). When I tried to install it, it said, "power pc applications not supported on this computer". I was told to "uninstall" OS X on my computer, install Final Cut Studio, and reinstall OS X Mountain Lion again. Is this true? If so, how do I do this?

There is a "bug" in the installer application of Final Cut Studio Pro 2 that will fail to work in Lion or Mt. Lion; it will work successfully in Snow Leopard and a subsequent upgrade to Lion or Mt. Lion after the successful installation of FCSP2 will continue to work.
Once Mt. Lion is installed you can use one of these two methods to install FCSP2:
    1)  Pacifist
    2)  Jeremy Johnstone's Terminal method:

  • If I clean install my Mac, how will I reinstall Final Cut Studio?

I'm experiencing a blue screen issue with my iMac 10.6 with Snow Leopard.  And I'm resorting to doing a clean install.  I'm thinking this will remove Final Cut Studio and it's applications, making me reinstall them on a fresh computer.
Will there be an issue reinstalling this license on the same computer?  Because I can not go into the computer now to uninstall FCS.  I've been sifting through the forums and Google and haven't found an answer.

    >Will there be an issue reinstalling this license on the same computer?
No. It'll install fine.  There is no way to un-license it from your machine, like Adobe and Avid require, because you don't license it. It's just installed.
Simply reinstall from the original disks and you will be fine.

  • Reinstall Final Cut Studio without reinstalling content, templates, etc.?

I had to reinstall my entire OS because of a major system failure. I am now in the process of reinstalling all my applications and my question is this:
All of the content, templates, sound loops, etc. that are installed with Final Cut Studio (40+ GBs of data) I had installed onto an external hard drive. Thus the content is all still there.
I am about to reinstall FCS onto my system and was wondering if there was a way I could point the installer or respective applications to the content on my external hard drive. This would prevent having to reinstall all 40+ GBs of content onto the external drive again and would save probably about three hours.
Does anyone know if this is possible and how? Thanks.

Good luck getting an answer on reinstalling, but I may be able to help. When you put the first Final Cut Studio install disc in, it asks you what you want to install, and gives you the option of unchecking a bunch of stuff like a bunch of livetype media and such. I haven't tried this, but I would imagine that you could just uncheck what you have installed elsewhere and when you open the application for the first time, it will probably ask you to reconnect the media files. At least that's how it sounds like apple would do it.

I have installed Final Cut Studio 2
Then when I noticed the Quicktime 7 Pro was not there I did some research, Found Quicktime 7 on the Snow Leopard EXTRA disk and installed it.
Now, do I have to RE-install Final Cut Studio to get Quicktime 7 pro to unlock?
I scoured the forums and couldn't find anything. If there is something please lead me to it.

This isn't related to your query, just a note to say that you've marked this topic as answered (at the time at which I'm making my reply). It might be best to mark it as "not answered" again, just in case folks pass over it assuming that it has been resolved.

My Final Cut Pro is acting up and not stable.  All happened just recently.  I figure I just need to reinstall it.  Do I have to send the existing applications to the trash first and then do a fresh install?  Or is there another way to do this?  Thanks in advance.

  • Reinstall Final Cut Studio

I am reintalling Fincal Cut Studio, and having the content loaded onto my FW 800 Drives.
Does the reinstall of the software automatically overwrite the exisiting Fical Cut Studio? I dumped the content files, but left all the software in place.
Should I have uninstalled FCS before proceeding?

Many folks here with issues, found that after spending hours re-installing/updating FCP, that they should have first erased it from their system before doing so.
It only takes a couple of minutes for this step... I'd rather be safe than sorry.
But do you HAVE TO? NO you don't, it's not obligatory...

  • I need to reinstall Final Cut Pro Version 10.1.1 but can't remember the Apple ID I used to install it in 2012.  What can I do?

For several days, I've been trying to upload Final Cut Pro but keep getting this message "restoring the window layout" but nothing happens.  Not even after 2 hours.  What have I done wrong and how can I redress this problem?

Open your Home library (not the root library), Application Support/Final Cut Pro/Layouts. Drag the folder to the trash. Npw re-launch the app.
Just to add…your subject line doesn't seem to  agree with the content of your post. If you can't remember your Apple ID, contact Apple.
