I need to remove blue highlighting around certain words in a pdf document.

Someone tell me how.

I'm not sure how to send a screenshot in this forum but it doesn't matter now. The problem was that I somehow removed the Form Fields without it removing the information in them as well as the blue highlight for selecting an answer to the individual questions.
I ended up going into another copy of the application and using the Tools>Highlight Existing Fields operation and then going through and making sure the different form fields weren't locked and then deleting each one.
Initially I used the left hand side Navigation Pane buttons to remove all embedded information which is what got rid of the form fields but not the info in those form fields, which included the blue highlight.
Thank you for your help though.

    What do I need to do to display a MS Word, Excel or PDF document in a browser?
    I use the following procedure to load the content to the region of my HTML .
    This gives an EDIT link to the photo...
    select
    '[img src="#OWNER#.display_thumb?p_file_id=' || nvl(file_catalog_id,0) || '" /]' "File"
    from "FILE_CATALOG"
    where "FILE_CATALOG_ID" = :P9_FILE_CATALOG_ID
    This is the procedure to load the content to the region of my HTML .
    create or replace PROCEDURE "DISPLAY_THUMB" (p_photo_id in number)

  • How do i add a letterhead (company logo) to certain pages of a pdf document? Need to do this all the time!

    I need to add letterhead/logo as a header and footer to certain pages of PDF document. Can I set up a template header and footer that I can select to go onto certain pages of document?
    When I try to add a header in Adobe Acrobat X Standard it only lets me add letters & numbers and not a jpg image logo.

    You could setup stamps, one for the header and one for the footer. Then apply and place the stamps. It may be you can create one stamp to do the job as long as the background is transparent. I am not sure about templates since it is an area I have never played with. Consider these as ideas to try. Not sure how well they will work. If you wait around, someone with better input may drop by.

  • HIGHLIGHTING WORDS AND DICTIONARIES SUPPORT - Search and highlight words in the PDF documents

    One of the things that Adobe people don't understand very well, is they focus and focus and focus constantly in adding new "cool" features to the product... as more flash support... etc. etc.
    But Adobe still pending to make easier the life of people that work with tons and literally tons of PDF documents.
    Students, researchers, law professors, academics... they all need a solution to search and highlight in different colors, for certain words in a lot of documents.
    So here we have a challenge for the Adobe folks.
    Let's imagine you are working in a Law Office, ok? (you're lawyer, not programmer)
    You have a trial tomorrow...
    The trial is about robbery (for example)
    Now you are looking for Jurisprudence (other similar cases that were judged before)...
    And let's imagine you have a folder with 200 cases in 200 PDF files, talking about robbery, between the years 2005-2009
    Now, let's imagine you are interested to search the words:
    CONVICTION
    KIDNAPPING
    ASSAULT
    FAILURE
    CRIME
    SUBPOENA
    How do you do that Adobe folks?
    Reading the 200 documents? one by one, having to drink all the ink of the documents, line by line...
    Or, could you, please, allow Adobe Acrobat 10 can handle dictionaries of words, and allow the users, to search and highlight those words in folder of PDF documents.
    Of course!!! you'll tell me, oh, you can accomplish a search of the desired words and Acrobat will search them for you in a lot of documents in a folder...
    And I'll reply you! oh! that is not enough!
    And do you know why?
    Just simpley because I need to see all the information highlighted in a context...
    If I see the word CRIME in red close to FAILURE... also in red I can see that something wrong is happening with that trial, for example...
    Do you understand now that searching single words in a lot of documents is not enough, and you have to improve URGENTLY this feature?
    Highlighting the words the users need to search in a folder of documents, allow INTENSIVE RESEARCH AND SAVE HOURS AND DAYS AND EVEN MONTHS OF HARD WORK TO THE USERS.
    In that way, you don't have to read the whole document, you just go directly to the highlighted parts.
    I've been submitting this feature since Adobe Acrobat 6!!!! No one in Adobe listened to me!!!
    I sincerely don't know why these forums are opened, must be an idea of someone from marketing, because finally, Adobe don't implement any specification from the users.
    I am absolutely sure, Adobe folks will present the 10 version as something pretty cool, with more flash support and more graphic stuff.
    But, as always, withouth helping the real people that work extensively with large amounts of documents.
    So I hope, Sirs, Madams of Adobe, please, now yes, you give support to this feature once and for all !!!
    Thanks

    Adobe does listen to users, but it listens to 10 users more frequently than 1 user. It listens to 1000 users more frequently than 10. Get everyone you know that works for lawyers to post the request in the Adobe wish form (where Adobe tabulates user requests).
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Then maybe it will appear in Acrobat 11. If it is not in Acrobat 10 by now it is probably too late in the upgrade cycle for it to get in.

  • Need to remove additional markup around components in preview/ publish

    Hi all,
    I have a quick question concerning the cq:noDecoration property on a
    component that - if set to "true" - removes the <div> markup from a
    component.
    I need this behaviour because the markup produces invalid HTML. But
    sadly when removing the wrap the component can not be selected any
    more?
    How can i create a component that has no additional markup wrapped
    around it but can still be edited/selected?
    It would be ok to have additional markup in edit mode but not in
    preview mode.
    Regards,
    Shelly

    how does the markup produce invalid HTML? i am interested to see the validator results for your specific case.
    nevertheless, the WCM Editables (hover frames for opening the edit dialog) require a block element to wrap themselves around per paragraph or component, otherwise they don't know where to attach. this is usually done with the auto-generated div. disabling the decoration effectively disables the editables.
    would it help if you could set your own HTML decoration? using a component's cq:htmlTag node (with e.g. a property cq:tagName = "myhtmlelement" [e.g. h1] and "id" or "class" to set desired style reference) you can maybe produce HTML that conforms to your needs, while at the same time serving as the required surrounding block level element for the editables.
    the ultima ratio is to manually call the CQ.WCM.edit widget function to create an editable within your component's JSP within a block level element:
    <div class="blah">
        ... my magic ....
    <script type="text/javascript">
    CQ.WCM.edit({"path":"/content/geometrixx/en/jcr:content/par/image","dialog":"/libs/foundat ion/components/image/dialog","type":"foundation/components/image","csp":"homepage|page/par |parsys/image|parbase","editConfig":{"dropTarget":[{"id":"image","name":"./fileReference", "accept":["image/.*"],"groups":["media"],"params":{"./sling:resourceType":"foundation/comp onents/image","./imageMap":"","./imageRotate":"","./imageCrop":""}}]}});
    </script>
    </div>
    replace the configuration properties of the .edit function above as needed for your component. see the widget API documentation at [0] for the .edit function.
    you can find various different samples at e.g. (or by looking at the HTML source of an author geometrixx page):

  • How to disable the blue highlight boxes around links?

    I've created a document in InDesign CS5, and when viewed on Adobe Reader 10.2 (on an iPad) all the table of contents links within the document, and all links to external websites have a blue highlight field around them. While I appreciate the fact that it makes it obvious where links are, it looks remarkably ugly to have huge blue highlights all over the document. There must be a way to turn these highlights off, right? Either from the source document within InDesign before the PDF is created, or from within Adobe Reader or Acrobat after the PDF is made? I have all the links within InDesign set to "Invisible Rectangle", and it looks great when viewed on older versions of Adobe Reader or in iBooks. Unfortunately, older versions of Adobe Reader don't support hyperlinks on tablets. So somebody using Reader 10.2, however, is now forced to view this document with ugly blue highlights. Is the only option to avoid the highlights to recommend everyone use iBooks to view the document, or is there a way in Reader 10.2 to disable these?

    Thanks, but I already have all the hyperlinks set to "Invisible Rectangle", and there are still blue highlight fields around the links in Reader 10.2. If I view the PDF in other programs (iBooks, older versions of Reader) the links appear without the blue highlights. All the research I've done on this seems to point to the blue highlight fields being a "feature" of Reader 10.2, but I can't imagine that Adobe would create a feature with such a visual impact on documents without offering the option to turn that feature off? In a lot of print, online, and interactive docs both text and images are used as links (icons, buttons, etc) and having an automatic blue highlight around them really takes away from the visual impact that graphics provide. There must be an option somewhere to disable or turn these off, but I haven't been able to find it yet. Any other suggestions/ideas?

  • Trouble with grey boxes around certain text or words

    We are having trouble with some of our
    InDesign files. When the text is flowed in from Word there are grey outline boxes showing up around certain words or phrases. We have been working with the preferences and also the dictionary and nothing seems to fix our problem.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks for your help!

    Did you open the hyperlinks panel and delete the links, or change the highlight? You have to change the highlights one at a time, I think. (I hate Word's automatic hyperling nonsense).

  • Getting rid of highlight around the border when a TableView gains focus

    Hello,
    Is there a way remove the highlight around the border of a TableView when it gains focus?
    Thanks.

    The relevant css from caspian.css in /sdk/rt/lib/jfxrt.jar is:
    /** Draws focus border around tableview */
    .table-view:focused {
        -fx-background-color: -fx-focus-color,-fx-box-border,-fx-control-inner-background;
        -fx-background-insets: -1.4, 0, 1;
        -fx-background-radius: 1.4, 0, 0;
        /* There is some oddness if padding is in em values rather than pixels,
           in particular, the left border of the control doesn't show. */
        -fx-padding: 1; /* 0.083333em; */
    }To get rid of the focus display, just define a custom css stylesheet for your app which overrides the table:focused pseudo-class, for example:
    .table-view:focused { -fx-background-color: transparent,-fx-box-border,-fx-control-inner-background; }

  • Anyway to highlight a particular word in text?

    I'm trying to implement some necessary features using htmlText (http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=textcontrols_04.html). One thing I need to do is highlight a particular word in a sentence. Something along the lines of
    This is a sentence with a <highlight> highlighted </highlight> word.
    None of the tags in the aforementioned list seem to be able to be able to do anything like this. I was hoping for a backgroundColor attribute in the font tag, or something. I've also looked at the CSS capabilities, etc... and simply using setStyle("backgroundColor" ...) wouldn't do any good, as I need to highlight only one word.
    It seems we'll just have to find another way to emphasize the text in question, but before I abandon all hope, am I missing anything?

    I think you already know this, but you can change the color of the text with <font color=""> and/or make it bold with <b>, and I think you can make it italic with <i> or <em>.
    Like I said, I think you already knew that but thought I'd mention it.
    You could use the drawing API to draw a rectangle under the word, but with different fonts and font sizes that would be difficult to get right and consistent.

  • Extract highlighted words from a pdf (Acrobat SDK, OLE)

    Hello Acrobat gurus ! :-)
    I'm new to the SDK, so please excuse any "stupid" question i might have.
    Here is what i want to do:
    I want to search for a group of words in a pdf document. According to the SDK documentation, once i search for a text using AcroExch.AVDoc.FindText(), the function "Finds the specified text, scrolls so that it is visible, and highlights it."
    I was assuming that after calling this function with my string, once the string is found i will have acces to the coordinates of the rectangle containing the highlighted group of words (i presumed that those words would be automatically contained in an object of the type AcroExch.HiliteList) and to the coordinates of those words.But i'm not able to do so, i cannot find any function(s) that give me that kind of access.
    So question is:
    Is it possible to access the coordinates of the rectangle/words that are highlighted in a pdf after calling the FindText() function ? Can someone help me get on the right track ?
    Thanks

    Ok, let me give you an more elaborate example, maybe i don't ask the right question.
    Let's say i have a pdf, containing the following text in the first page
    --- arbitrary number of ":"
    Mother's Name: Joanna
    Father's Name: Josh
    other text
    If i call the function like this: FindText("Mother's Name:"), acrobat is going to find the first occurance of my string. What i want to do is to be able to get the coordinates of this WHOLE string OR the coordinates of the last character in the string  (in this case ":").
    The problem is that if i go for the coordinates ofthe double dots i cannot just look for them in the pdf, because i may have an unknown number of double dots (":") before the ones i'm interested in. The logical solution in this case would be to get the coordinates of the entire string ("Mother's Name:" in this case) and then get the coordinates of the double dots i'm interested in.
    Would that be possible ?

  • HT4623 What causes a blue highlight box to jump around the screen with an audible click?

    Today my iphone 5 started having a blue highlight box appear on every screen, jumping from one icon or set of icons to another with an audible click.  My iOS is up to date and I first noticed this after receiving a text message (text only, no attachments).

  • I just downloaded Pages. When typing on a blank document, I am unable to highlight certain words.  My daughter usesbitbfor homework and needs to highlight her spelling words.  I've read disucssions and it says gonto the a and enter fill and cg

    I just started using Pages and am trying to figure out how I can highlight certain words in sentences.  I have read some of the discussions and they have said to go to the "a" on the top bar.  When using a blank document, the letter "a" doesn't show up and there isn't an option to fill in or use shadowing.  Help!

    At the top of the screen in Page there is an "I" next to the Media Icon. If you tap that "I" icon - you bring up a menu that has Style as one of the options. Tap Style and you can change the color of the text and use all of the preinstalled Styles available in the app.
    If you swipe all the way to the bottom of the Styles menu- there is a Text Options listed. Tap on that and you can select different sizes, fonts, and text colors.
