I need to replace three ink cartridges.

My previous printer was an HP 3845 and it died. I had purchased three ink cartridges for this printer and had taken them out of their boxes but they are still in their foil packets. Two are HP 28 Tri-color cartridges costing me $27.97 and one is an HP 27 black cartridge costing me $21.97. I bougth a new printer, an HP 2540 that takes ink cartridges HP 61. Please inform me as to how and where I can get cartridge switches for my current printer.

  • Replace magenta ink cartridge

Although I have replaced ALL ink cartridges in my Business Inkjet 2200, I still get the "Replace Magenta Ink Cartridge" message, and the printer will not print.
I have disconnected the power, reinstalled the drivers, removed and replaced all cartridges dozens of times, but nothing will help.
    Hope someone out there can.

This is an old post, but I just had the same problem on my printer and wanted to respond in case someone else with the same problem finds this post.
The resest solved the problem for me.
To reset this printer, make sure the printer is on.  Unplug the printer without turning the printer off.
    Wait  60 seconds.
Hold down the # and 6 button while plugging the printer back in.  Keep holding the # and 6 down while the printer turns on.  After a bit, on mine there was a picture of the power symbol that appeared on the printer display.
When the power symbol appears on the printer display, take your fingers off the # and 6 button.
Push the power button to turn the printer off.  Push the power button again to turn the printer back on.  The printer will take some time to go through some preparation.  When the preparation is complete, the printer will recognize that the cartridges are full.
My printer is the C7280.  I'll check on the reset instructions for the C7180 and C6180 also mentioned in this post and update this thread with instructions for those printers as soon as I find those reset instructions.  I'm not sure what the #3 does - that's close, but different than what what worked for me.
If these steps worked for you, please mark this post as solved.

  • Printing error after replacement of ink cartridges

I just replaced the black and the color ink cartridges in my Deskjet F4800. I have done this successfully many times before. But this time, the tear-drop shaped light under the color ink level guage on the panel is blinking continuously, and the "E" (for error) sign on the fron panel is on. The printer refuses to print anything. I have tried removing and re-inserting the cartridges a couple of times, and resetting the printer, but to no avail. The HP Solution Centre software just reports an error situation and advises to remove and re-insert the cartridges, which I've done a number of times now without being able to solve th eproblem.

    Hey @subratabn ,
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to ask that question on the HP Forums today!
I understand you are in an error state with your printer. You are being told to reinstall and remove the cartridges to fix the issue.
I have looked all over the website for the Deskjet F4800. I can not find it,  are you sure that this is the model that you are using? If so please attach a picture and some information about it.
Look forward to hearing back from you!

  • Replace Empty Ink Cartridge message flashes after the cartridge has been replaced

Printer is C61P50 All in One.
Has been printing black only, but this morning it said it could not continue unless the empty Magenta cartridge was replaced.   I bought a new one, installed it, and still get the same message.
Occasionally I get another about the light blue cartridge ink being expired.   That I can clear by hitting OK, but then I am back to being hung up on the supposedly empty magenta which I have already replaced with a brand new one.

Hi - my Officejet Pro 8500A Plus has had printing problems so I just replaced it with a new Officejet Pro 8610.   Unfortunately, I have 8 brand new 940XL ink cartridges for the old printer that I can't use (3 black, 5 Magenta/Cyan/Yellow).  Can you help me exchange them for an equivalent quantity of 950XL and 951XL cartridges that will work in the new 8610 Printer?

  • Office Jet 6500 E710n-z won't print black even just replace the ink cartridge with a new one.

It is the 3rd time to have problem on printing "black" even the ink is not empty (but the level is low, like a quarter left).  In the previous cases, I replaced the cartridge and the problem solved.
The 2nd time was last week.  After I changed the cartridge, it worked (for only 1 week) and the problem is back.  Since the ink is full this time and it worked well when I just changed it, I suspect this is the problem of my printer instead of the cartridge.
I did clean printhead and align printhead but the problem persist.  Please advice the solution.  Thanks!

Hopefully the printhead does not need replacing. I would look at this document on defective output for your printer model.  I know that some of the steps in here you have mentioned already performing. Please just read over/skip those and try the ones you have not yet performed.  It shows different ways to clean the printhead; if you just did the cleaning from the toolbox I would defiantly do the manual one. It also has a walk through to make sure that the products firmware is up to date.  Here is that link:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02455482&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&la...

  • Officejet 6500APlus not recognizing replaced black ink cartridge

    Officejet6500APlus - E710n
Black ink low and replaced with genuine HP cartridge. Message on screen acknowledged genuine
HP cartridge replaced. Printed ink report and no black ink printed. Removed and re-installed cartridge, double-checked that it snapped into place and did the print head cleaning process. Still not printing black.

I would suggest the troubleshooting steps in this page to address black not printing in your Officejet 6500 e710n.  Be sure to check the vent is not clogged.  If the above does not resolve the issue the post here may help.

  • Office jet 6310 ink cartridge replacement

I own an inkjet 6310 all in one printer and i needed to replace my ink cartridges.  i currently have a black 337 and a color 343 in the printer.  the replacement cartridges per hp is now black 95 and color 98.  when i intall the new ones, i get an error message that the 95/98 cartridges are not the correct cartridge.  i can't find 337/343 anywhere.  i even bought another set of 95/98 to see if it was a cartridge problem and it didn't work.  Any ideas?
I bought the printer about 3-4 years ago.

Did you buy the printer in one country and then move to another?  If so you will need to Contact HP to request a "Regionalization Reset". There should not be any charge for this, it is covered as part of the cartridge warranty. You will need to have access to your computer and printer while on the line with HP. You will also need to have a set of cartridges for the new region, once the reset is complete cartridges from the original region will no longer work.  HP's web page on the subject is here.

  • MX472 won't recognize new ink cartridges code 1401

I recently needed to replace my ink cartridges on my MX472 and immediately following  the install, I received several beeps and a code on the LCD display of 1401. That code means ink not installed. Consequently, I cleaned the contact strips with alcohol, did a hard reset of holding the stop button for 5 seconds, another type of reset of holding the stop button for 2 seconds, then pressing and holding the power button followed by pressing the stop button 5 times. I also unplugged the printer for 5 minutes with the cartridges out of the printer and plugged it back in, reinstalled the cartridges and still received the 1401 error code Check Ink. I went and bought another set of authentic Canon ink thinking the first set was defective and still a no go on the second set. Is my printer ready for the trash can? Its only 6 months old!  Anyone have any other thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Gregg1,
Since you continue to receve the error after performing the troubleshooting steps you have mentioned, the printer will require servicing.  Since you purchased the printer within the past year, it is still within the warranty period; please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for further assistance.

  • IJ Canon Printer Utility disappeared after I replaced ink cartridges.

I just replaced the ink cartridges with ones I ordered from eforcity and it prints fine, but I haven't been able to locate the printer utility box ever since which means I haven't been able to check ink levels and clean the nozzles. This is really frustrating because I need to clean the print nozzles now. Every line on my printouts is streaking (half dark / half faded). Help! Thanks.

  • 8500A won't print since I replaced ink cartridges.

Hi.  Ever since I replaced all the ink cartridges (with genuine HP parts)  on my printer it won't print except very faintly in two of the colours, and not at all in the other two.  I've cleaned the printheads, and tried to align the printheads.  Aligning the printheads failed.  Why would the printer suddently stop working after replacing the cartridges, and what else can I do to fix the problem?  I found a page about replacing the printheads, but can't find any info any where about where to buy these parts or how much they cost.  I tried to find a repair place near me but the search came up with no results.  Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

  • How can I get my HP DeskJet 6540 to recognize the new ink cartridges I installed?

Hi everyone. I have an HP DeskJet 6540 printer and I replaced the ink cartridges. After I replaced the cartridges, I aligned them and then did a test print. I noticed that the blank ink didn't print. I opened system preferences, and then I opened the printer utility. It says, "Device Status : Pen Failure." Current Supplies Levels says, "The current levels for the selected printer are shown below...Cartridge on the left (tri-color 97) is unknown and the the cartridge on the right (black 96) is missing." Oh, I forgot to mention that the print cartridge light on the left side is flashing. I went to the HP support website and it says that the problem could be an incorrect print cartridge, incompatible print cartridge, or problem with the (left/right) print cartridge.  The solution they offered was to remove, inspect and reseat the problem cartidge. It also said to clean the problem cartridge contacts. I did that and it still gives me the same results. I even reset the printer but still got the same results...
So the next thing I try is the OTHER cartridges listed as compatible with my printer which is 94 (black) and 95 (tri-color). I bought the new cartridges, placed them in the printer and I still got the same message from the print utility. I took the latter cartridges back and got a refund and explained that none of the compatible cartridges are working with my printer. I kept the 96 and 97 cartridges in the printer and the light on the left continues to flash so now I'm here asking if anyone knows how I can get my printer to recognize the new ink cartridges I installed?  Are there any other solutions that I have besides throwing the printer out of the window? :-)
    Thanks everyone ;-)

With all that you have done it does sound like the printer has a fault. If you haven't tried turning off the printer for several minutes, then this would be worth trying (maybe you have done this when you say reset the printer?).
If the cartridge light on the printer flashes when you turn the printer back on then it sounds like a hardware fault - not the driver or the operating system. And this is not usually something a user can resolve so it would need repair. And for the cost of a new printer, why would you bother.
If you plan of sticking with HP and getting another model that can use the 96 & 97 cartridges (let's face it, they often cost more than the new printer), then take the two existing cartridges to the store and see if they will let you check they are okay. No point throwing them out also if they still have a fair bit of ink still in them.
