You would resize the image when you export it. The settings would be under File->Export Version.

It is a very widespread function in web browsers, and it is very ''very'' helpful in many situations, including remembering the location of pages you want to see later, providing easy access to pages you use frequently and other stuff too.
If you want to know about session restore, there's an helpful support article [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Session+Restore here] which I believe also has information on version 3.0. However, I do urge you, once again, to update, because older versions (including 3.0) are no longer maintained and have known security vulnerabilities. Besides, you will not loose any functionality at all (unless you are using add-ons that are no longer usable by newer versions, in which case you need to contact the add-ons' authors for support and ask them to update their software), it's free, and very easy to do.

Running FF 5.0 on Win XP Pro. Several web sites stopped displaying properly overnight without a computer shutdown or FF shutdown. One of the sites is a banking site which displayed normally until after login when it failed to display and there was a message saying best viewed with CSS turned on. I've restarted both FF and then the computer and FF to no avail. Tried both No Style and Basic Style Views with no change. Did not do a power off full computer shutdown and restart yet. Has only happened in FF 5.0. Never happened in previous versions.

OK, I need to be able to have a linked TOC, and also have destinations created in FM10 that will not be lost when I 1. Save the book as a PDF; then 2. I need the PDF to be as small as possible, but without losing my destinations. Anyone know how to do that??
I had been saving as a PDF and then reducing the size of the PDF by printing it as a PDF with a degree of image compression. I write manuals with a LOT of screen captures and line art that needs to be clear. So it is a balancing act between image clarity and PDF size. The PDFs on the web need to be smaller - sure you can undertsand.
Anyway, when I print the PDF again, I lose both my destinations and bookmarks.
Anyone know of any way to avoid that?Control the images by creating a custom PDF Job Options and then selecting it in the PDF Job Options drop-down of the PDF setup dialog box (File > Save as PDF...)
Create the custom PDF Job Options file with Distiller. If you do not have Distiller, open the Printing Preferences of the Adobe PDF printer. Start with the Smallest File Size Job Options settings and Edit. -
I want to set up the Time Machine and I would love to use the Time

A complication that I need to resolve is the fact that I am using Vmware
Fusion to be able to use Windows on my Mac. Now it seems that Time
Machine is not backing up my files
on that virtual Windows without additional configuration and my question
is whether you can advise me here or whether this is only a matter for
the Fusion virtual machine.If you want to use Time Capsule you can.. you simply bridge it and plug it into the existing router.. wireless can be either turned off or used to reinforce the existing wireless.. eg use 5ghz in the TC which is much faster than your 2.4ghz.
You can also use a NAS.. many brands available but the top brands are synology, qnap and netgear readynas series. These will all do Time Machine backups although how well always depends on Apple sticking to a standard. There are cheaper ones.. I bought a single disk zyxel which was rebadged and sold through my local supermarket. It actually works very well for TM at least on Snow Leopard. Major changes were made in Lion and again ML so do not instantly think it will work on later versions. I haven't tried it yet with those versions.
Any external drive can be plugged into the mac. Use the one with the fastest connection or cheapest price according to your budget. USB2 drives are cheap and plentiful. But no where near as fast as USB3 or FW800. So just pick whichever suits the ports on your Mac. Interesting Apple finally moved to USB3 on their latest computers.
TM should exclude the VM partition file.. it is useless backing it up from Mac OS side.. and will slow TM as it needs to backup that partition everyday for no purpose.. TM cannot see the files inside it to backup just the changes.
You need to backup windows from windows. Use MSbackup to external drive.. if you have pro or ultimate versions you can backup to network drive. But MSbackup is a dog.. at least until the latest version it cannot restore the partition without first loading windows. There are about a zillion backup software versions for windows.. look up reviews and buy one which works for you. I use a free one Macrium Reflect which does full disk backups and is easy to restore.. to do incremental backups though you have to pay for it. -

If everything appears to be in negative then try triple-clicking the home button - if that works then you can change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home. If it doesn't then go into Settings > General > Accessiblity and turn White On Black 'off'

Dpi: what happens when an image is re-saved from 240 to 300 dpi?

When I open my images in Adobe Raw, the images are 240 ppi. What happens exactly when I change the setting to 300 ppi in the Adobe Raw. For printing many companies ask for 300 ppi. And what happen if I re-save old images again in Photoshop after processing with 300 ppi, will the picture become unsharper? I cannot see a difference. An image in and of itself has no size. It is built out of square pixels of indefinite size. They could be one micron, or the size of a city block.
An image only has a specific length and width once the pixel size is established.
To illustrate open any 72 PPI image. View: Rulers. Change the image to 300 PPI with resample disabled. The pixel data of the image is not altered, the only thing that changes is the ruler around the image.
My guess is that the change from 240 to 300 in your example does not change the pixel result. What does change is the size of the file. The higher the PPI, the smaller the physical file dimensions. A 240 PPI image that is 10" by 12.5" would equal a 300 PPI image that is 8" by 10". Either one of these qualifies as a 7.2 megapixel image (2400 x 3000 = 7,200,000 pixels in the image). -
I had to change my settings back to factory settings. Now if I try to get a game or an app it tells me I need iOS at least 4.5. I hooked up to my pc and went to iTunes but can not find a download for any iOS. It just gives info on all they offer. Any help ????
To update to the current version (which is the only version 'signed' by Apple). connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases - you may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
You can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button.

I'm running 10.4.11 and am unable to find the plugin updates that Firefox keeps telling me I need on an annoying little popup window that keeps coming up whenever I download a page using Firefox. The pluin updates I need are for Quicktime, Java to name a few. Is Apple not supplying any more plugin update because I'm using an old version of Mac OSX? The firefox plugin page tells me that Apple supppies their own plugins but I don't see any when I use Apple Software Update. Any suggestions?

Some are reporting that logging out and back into your account again will resolve this. However if your problem persists:
Select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History on your computer.
Currently, if your purchase happens to be your most recent purchase you will need to click the large ‘Report A Problem’ button under the list of previous purchases in order to reveal the ‘Report A Problem’ link for your recent purchase. If your purchase is listed as a previous purchase use the small arrow on the left side of its listing.
Alternatively you can use the receipt email to report a problem. -

I don't think you can change DPI in iPhoto. You can do it in Preview or an App like Graphic Converter. Here is a screenshot from Preview. Preview is located in your Application Folder

Can't find a raw file that was just on my fash card. need help.
I shoot raw/jpg. I viewed in Digital Photo professional and transferred a Tiff to photoshop. I saved the image on a seperate disc. when I opened and tried to save again I received an error saying I didn'thave permission. I finally saved the psd version by changing the name of the picture. when I went back to the raw file on my flash card it was gone. when I went back to the tiff file that was gone to. the only file I have left is the jpg back up and the psd version. All the other pictures are still on both the flash card and my backup drive except this one. I've done recovery searches and they recover everything i've deleted from the flash card except the file I need. I don't understand why this happend. I've tried searching for hidden files etc. I didn't delete this file. the recovery program shows that it is there it just won't get it. it gets everything else but not this one. both the raw and the tiff files disappeared from two different drives. I want to get the raw file back. Help!
Recovery programs can only recover file that have beed deleted when the media space they occupied has not reused and written over. So if the recovery program did not recover your images. I would be willing to bet some of the space the image occupied has been written over. So it can not be recovered even though its delete directry enter can be read its data is no longer intact.
Without a system trace you have to rack your brain the remenber all you did. To get a clue to what wrote to your flash card. Its best to just copy file off flash cards onto your hard disk and remove the card from the card reader with the files still on the flash card. After processing your images on your computer its a simple quick process to format the flash card in camera. -
I purchased my iPhone 5 and the Applecare Protection Plan a little over a year ago at my Sprint store. I was not informed that I needed to register my Applecare Plan, so I didn't. Now, my lock button on my iPhone is broken and I want to get it fixed or receive a new phone. PeachMac told me they would give me a new phone which would be covered under my Applecare Plan. I logged into Apple to make sure I still had time on my plan, but it doesn't even recognize that I purchased one and I no longer have the receipt for the plan, let alone the phone. How can I register my plan without the receipt? I'm feeling kinda of ripped off by Apple. Shouldn't they keep a record of who purchases these plans?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.Did you register the AppleCare+ plan at the time of purchase? If you didn't, even if you had the receipt, it's too late. It must be purchased and activated within 30 days of the initial purchase of the phone (it's usually done at the time of purchase). If Sprint didn't activate it at the time of sale, you can blame them. Apple doesn't control them.
