Email on my iphone 3 stops working almost every day.
My email stops working on my iphone 3 almost every day, and I have to reset the passwords, power on and off. Then it works again. Any suggestions?
Then you didn't read it carefully enough. Here is the applicable part of that page:
If you're running software update 1.1.3, please note that tapping the 'Gmail' button will automatically configure Gmail IMAP. Here's how to set up POP:
Tap Mail from your iPhone's Home screen.
Tap Other.
Select POP from the tab menu.
Enter your name, email address, and password in the appropriate fields. The Address field should be your full email address ([email protected]). Google Apps users, enter your full address in the format 'username@your_domain.com.'
Under Incoming Mail Server, fill in the Host Name field as 'pop.gmail.com.' Google Apps users, enter the server names provided, don't add your domain name in this step.
Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), fill in the Host Name field as 'smtp.gmail.com.'
Tap Save. Now you're done!
If you notice that POP access isn't working properly, please ensure that all your settings are correct by following these instructions:
From the Home menu, tap Settings.
Select your Gmail address.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap Advanced.
Ensure that your settings are as follows:
Incoming Uses SSL: ON
Outgoing Uses SSL: ON
Authentication: Password
If you're accessing your Gmail from multiple POP clients, we recommend setting Use Recent Mode to ON. -
My iPad WiFi Almost Every Day Keeps Disconnecting, especially if I am watching a video online. How do I fix this?
Howdy Danny_98,
Here is a great article to help troubleshoot wifi connectivity with your iOS device. Named iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections it can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398.
Be sure that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again. If unable to do so, see this article.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and indicate that they are connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or ISP for assistance.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. Then tap > and Forget this Network. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network again.
Note: You will need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your desired network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and then on again2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2.For AirPort Base Stations, see this article for information about firmware updates.
Those are the basic troubleshooting steps and there is another section toward the bottom named Wi-Fi disconnects, or signal strength is less than expected that is very relevant as well.

Have to "Set up Bluetooth Device" for wireless trackpad and keyboard almost every day
Almost every day when I turn on my MacBook Air in my home office, my Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad do not automatically reconnect. They used to connect just fine when I was in the viscinity, but now (for the past 6 months or so) I almost always have to:
Bluetooth > Set up Bluetooth Device
Turn off the keyboard (hold down the power button for several seconds)
Turn the keyboard back on (hold down power button for several seconds)
Go through the setup wizard
Repeat for the trackpad
Things that don't work:
Pressing the button on each Bluetooth device
Restarting each Bluetooth device
Turning Bluetooth on and off
Setting the Bluetooth devices as "Favorites"
Selecting the device from the Bluetooth menu item and clicking "Connect"
Rebooting my MacBook Air
Resetting the NVRAM / PRAM
Once the device is connected for the day, I do appear to be able to "Disconnect" and then "Connect" again from the Bluetooth menu item. The devices will also automatically reconnect by pressing a button on them. It just appears to lose the "lease" on them or whatever after a little less than a day.
I'm trying to think of other troubleshooting steps I could take and it just occurred to me that I could try swapping them with the peripherals I use at work (which are possibly newer models, but otherwise identical). Any other suggestions?Huzzah! Less than 1 week after finally getting fed up and posting this question, I have discovered the root cause - my wife had been inadvertently stealing my keyboard and mouse connection whenever she turned on her laptop! She's using my hand-me-down MacBook Pro which I thought I had reset, but apparently it remembered its Bluetooth connections.
I had suspected something similar since I occasionally used the wireless keyboard with my iPad, but had already ruled that out.
I can't believe I figured this out after 6 months of mild frustration, but just days after posting this question -
Why is my Macbook Pro Retina freezing almost every day since I have installed Mavericks?
I bought my Macbook Pro Retina in March and only use it lightly for school. I don't do anything crazy on it, and I have used barely any space on it. I have never had any problems in terms of freezing, but ever since I installed Mavericks, it's been freezing almost every day. Is there any way to stop this? It's very frustrating because I will be in the middle of something and it will just stop working. The only way to stop the freezing is to hold down the power button until it shuts down. By the time I restart it, I've lost my work. I wouldn't mind reverting back to Mountain Lion, if it's possible, because I never had any problems with it. But if I can fix it without reverting to Mountain Lion, that would be preferable. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Lots of people have this problem too but no one has a reply, any suggestions??

I have CS2 and I use it almost every day.. Today when I tried to launch it, a prompt came up saying my Activation was no longer valid and it closed automatically. Then when I tried to re-open it, a prompt came up saying "A serious error has occured" Please re-install the software... I have no idea where my software is... That was many many years ago? HELP!!
When you go to the download page, you must do two things:
Download this file: PhSp_CS2_English.exe on the download page.
Use the serial number on the download page in order to install your non-activation copy.
Do not use your old CD or serial number. It no longer works.
If you have Windows 7, the advice is to turn off UAC and run the installer as Administrator.

Why does new Safari screen appear almost every day?
Almost every day, I get a screen welcoming me to Safari, as if I had never used Safari before. This has been going on for about a week. In each case, I reset the settings, but the next day a new "Welcome" screen appears.
Leonard --
This happened to me, and I started paying really close attention to what I was doing . . .. I found that, being used to a wired Apple mouse, I got into the habit of tapping on the top of the mouse while waiting for the page to change. This sets off Zoom on the Magic Mouse.
So see if that's what's happening with you. I have to really watch it. I've gotten much better at not subconsciously tapping on the top, but it still happens every once in a great while. Otherwise, I love the Magic Mouse.
EDIT: If this is what's happening with you, you can undo it by tapping again on the top of the mouse. It's like a toggle. -

Why the Flash Player updates almost every day?
Why does the Flash Player update almost every day?
You think these are the only/main cause of security issues?
As a developer let me tell you it is far from the case. Most security issues are a direct result of user carelesness.
Let me give you an example....
I'm just a loley ole developer, no one special, but I do create many web apps/mobile apps, and many are free, and widely distributed.
One example is a social networking web app based on html5 and google maps api - a gps enabled social web app.
trufaces.com
This is just one example of hundreds, I offer free hosting services truimagz.com/host and mush more.
Anyway, the point is... do you have any idea how many people sign up using an email adress and their actuall email password as their login info?
90%+
I, just some schmuck, have access to over 50,000 email accounts and passwords at any given moment. Thank god I'm trustworthy eh?
Just food for thought. -
as many of you do, I use time capsule as airport, too...
It worked fine for 6 months or so after I bought the new time capsule. (I bought it in September 2012.)
Since the beginning of this year, I had to reset, and power off and plug it in almost every week, then now I need to reset and power off and back on again every day...
When I first set up the time capsule, I followed the instruction with the manual.
But, now I am so lost and don't want to reset every day for wifi connection.
Anyone has problem like me or knows how to solve this issue?
Please help..
I have MacBook Pro OS X 10.8.4 & my roommates have PCs. (just in case if it helps...)For PC it is important the wireless has names that are compatible.. short.. like 10 characters.. but 2-20 is fine. no spaces.. and pure alphanumeric.
Use WPA2 personal only.. with pure alphanumeric password .. again 10-20 characters should be fine.
The latest firmware is a dud. Go back to 7.6.1
Open the airport utility.. click on the TC and holding the option key click the actual version number..
Go back to 7.6.1 is simple.. just select it and away it will go.. ignore future requests for upgrade.. you can also tell the utility not to check weekly for updates. You will need 5.6 utility for this I think..
So do the firmware downgrade.
Then do a factory reset and follow the name information above.. for TC name as well btw.. wireless name/s and disk share name.. which by default is data and that is fine.
So some instructions in...
The Factory Reset.
Power down the TC.
Hold in reset. and keep holding it in. Be Gentle! It is a tiny surface mount switch with a plastic lever.. Attempting to push it out the other side of the TC will not make the switch turn on better.
(I fix TC and have several reset levers bent over and jammed or broken off).
Power on the TC.. remember with the reset held in.. this needs three arms.. a friend or power switch you can get to with your feet..
Keep holding in reset for about 10sec until the front LED flashes rapidly.
Release reset and wait .. the boot will be slow as it deletes previous setting.. only from router side and pulls out the factory defaults. No files are deleted on the hard disk.. but the name of the TC may change.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
Leave the package open on the desktop so you can see the file. AirportUtility56.pkg
2. Download and install unpkg.
http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. If your Mac refuses to run the software, because it wasn’t downloaded from the Apple store, go to security in preferences and allow other software to work.. this is limitation of trade methinks. You can set back later if you like.
Now drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. in finder, open the new directory, drill down.. applications, utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall version 6 (now 6.3 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. although I have had no problems when doing so.
You can also load airport utility into a pc and get access to all the settings. Untick the box for firmware updates.. it will still bug you occasionally.. regardless of the setting.. just ignore it..
You might still need to do the occasional reboot of the TC as well. -
Thinkpad Yoga crashes almost every day
A few weeks ago my 4-year old laptop started crashing a few times every week, so I decided to get a TPY. I received a 20CD000MMH (I5, 8 Gb RAM, 500Gb HDD+16Gb M.2 SSD) with windows 8.1 Pro (64 bit) on the 20. Feb and since then the longest time it has kept running is less than 48h. I've been downloading both recommended and optional (12. Feb BIOS update was optional!) Windows and Lenovo's System Updates every day, sometimes twice a day: after a crash System Update usually wants me to reinstall the LAN driver. I've reinstalled Intel's graphics driver several times over as well. For example yesterday screen brigthness was stuck at max after a BSOD, so at least it seems sometimes System Update is right in it's reccomendations.
Currently I have 5 files in the Windows minidump folder, about as many BSODs did not result in any. I've also done 2 resets after discovering in the morning that the computer is almost too hot to hold and won't shut down. Fortunately those have not recurred since disabling "turn off display" last week and checking every time I go to sleep that the computer really is off.
I haven't found many posts from other people who have this many crashes - I'm starting to feel I'm missing something obvious or have a really, really bad example of a TPY. At least there are no ghosting issues, although the SSD worked for caching for only a single glorious day of sub 20 sec. boots. Now I'm back to 1min+...
Does anyone have any advice, besides returning it? The only thing I think I haven't tried yet is messing with the virtual network adapter (http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Edge-S-series/Thinkpad-Yoga-not-waking-up-after-sleep/td-p/1348... as I'm afraid of permanently losing the network connection (which has been working fine) or something and I haven't foud any real instructions. And an update about my TPY also: my local Lenovo service couldn't find any hardware or software issues and it did not crash when it was there for two and a half days. They barely used it though. They did suspect the problem might have something to do with Lenovo and Microsoft programs being incompatible (both have power managers, for example) while running simultaneously. We decided to test software issues by having them reinstall Windows (on a 128 Gb M.2 SSD, which I had bought a few days before as I was sick and tired of the barely functional SSD caching) and by me avoiding any and all updates besides antivirus definitions. So far I've had one crash in 3 days, although it was not a BSOD. It just freezed up while watching a video and I had to reset it with a pin. So things have gotten better, especially considering I now can start using the computer in less than 30 seconds instead of 3 minutes after a crash. It's still not good though and there seem to be some memory issues: when I wake up the computer or restart Windows the setting keep changing for no reason. So far the desktop background has changed color, scaling goes from 125% (which I prefer) to either 100% or 150% and the mouse pointer size changes. Also I've gotten some memory errors (displayed too briefly to write down) when making changes to the account that require me to log off. I'll keep it for a few days and look for additional problems but it looks like I'm going to have to have the motherboard replaced...

Database auto restart at 2:00 AM every day
Hi,
I've installed 10.2.0.2.0 database in Windows 2000 Server.
Now it restarts automatically at 2:00 AM every day.
I've checked OS, there is no JOB run at 2:00 AM, and event viewer look normal at 2:00 AM.
When it restarts, sometimes it would restart successfully, sometimes it wouldn't(mounted, not open).
Here is the alert log.

I am getting error code 50 almost every day
Almost every time I want to move a photo from my desktop to a file, I get error code 50. The computer has to be turned off to fix it. Why would I be getting this error code and how can I fix it.
Hi Evelyn,
paramErr
= -50, /*error in user parameter list*/
What are you doing when this happens? Is it maybe time Machine having trouble?
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens. -
Bought my I=pad (wi-fi) in Nov. Use sometime alsomst every day and re-charge battery at 50%. Usually every 3-4 days. Just finished re-charging to 100% and was playing a video. Stopped and I turned it off and when I turned it back on, just got the Apple Logo. is the battery no good after only 6 months?
The battery is not likely the culpret. Something to hung up. You need to reboot:
Hold the home and power button at the same time for about 10 seconds (Keep holding past the swipe to shut down) and when the Apple Logo again appears, let go and your iPad should come back to life.
