I need to restore but...
i have songs, podcasts, tv shows on my ipod that is not in the library,,,
and i need to back these up so that i can put it back in my ipod after i restore...
how do i do this?

Try restarting your router by removing power to it for 30 seconds. This may correct the problem.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to retrieve the deleted data. If you have made the changes to the response and closed the response window; new data must have been saved automatically. In future, if you accidentally overwrite any data; please press ctrl+z to undo the change.

My IPhone need to restore, but I want to backup my data first.
Itunes keep telling me you must restore this iphone before it can be used. How I can backup my data?At this point it is too late. When you restore it will restore the backup made at the time of the last sync. And changes to the phone's content after that last sync will be lost.

My ipod touch needs to restore but I'm worried about doing that because I have so many important files on there which aren't linked to the cloud. I can't get into my ipod because it has the screen of the usb connecting to the itunes logo, so I can't do anything with it. Will I lose all of my photos and notes?

Hi guys. I have an HP Notebook 2000-365DX with Windows 7 Home Premium. Its so cluttered and I need to restore back to original settings. I had installed Ubuntu (partitioned) a while back and was very stupid because I deleted my HP Tools recovery partition. Now, I have searched here on HP.com to order a recovery disc and apparantly I cannot find one for my specific model. So what I have done is downloaded a Windows 7 Home Premium .iso file (thanks to a kind soul on these forums) and I am needing to download all the drivers for my laptop as well but HP is having some issues right now so I can't download them (which is fine I'm in no hurry). So that's about as far as my knowledge goes. I have my Win7 disc, and will hopefully soon have my drivers disc. What I don't know how to do is erase my computer to start from scratch installing Win7 again then all my drivers. I have read that DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke) wipes your hard drive clean but that seems very extreme. Seems like I would use that to erase my hardrive if I were selling my laptop or erasing evidence, but if that's my solution then I am cool with that. So really, I'm wandering what I should do now. And will I really have to re-install my drivers as well? Any help would be so greatly appreciated!!!!!
Hi, You can remove all the existing partitions on the HDD during installation as follows. Start the installation. When you get to the 'What type on installation' screen, choose the Custom ( advanced ) option and then click on Drive options (advanced). Here you can delete all the existing partitions one at a time by click on the partition to highlight it and then selecting delete. When done, you will have just one entry named 'Unallocated space' - just proceed with the installation. Regards, DP-K

My IPod Touch hangs on startup, doesn't go beyond the apple logo. Tried the reboot, doesn't help.
I'm thinking I need to restore the system, but it isn't recognized in ITunes either.
How do I force it to be recognized?- See if placing the iPod in Recovery mode will allow the restore.

My screen says I need to restore, but it won't let me type in my password to unlock the phone
My iPhone screen says I need to restore the phone, and to do so I should connect to iTunes. However, when I connect to iTunes, it tells me that my phone is locked and I need to type in my passcode on my phone. My phone will not let me type in my passcode or do anything else - it just shows the "Restore Needed" screen. What do I do? I've already tried turning it off and on.
Force the phone into recovery mode:
If you cannot turn off your phone using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When your phone turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons. Then, leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. -

my iphone 4 crashed. emergency calls only. it says i need to restore with itunes. when i plug it in it says my iphone is locked and i need to put the password in the iphone before it can. but of course my phone has crashed. hmmmmm?

my i pad is showing connect to i tunes picture when i connect to i tunes it tells me i need to restore to factory settings, but when i do it keeps coming up with error code!! which is a different one each time can anyone offer some advise to solve this frustrating problem.

Hi.. Im on my 4th iPhone... Anyway. I have been having problems when it comes to syncing my photo, videos and songs to my iPhone.. Whats been happening is... i can sync everything but it automatically syncs my Podcasts even though i clearly have the dont sync podcasts tick! please help as this is annoying.. Also... CarlI keep my smart phones stock. I have one app that is news oriented only. I do not load performance enhancing apps on my phones like app killers, keyboards, battery managers, launchers, ram managers, and the like. By keeping my phones stock I have never had an update hiccup. I believe that is the key. Since you are having problems getting the update to install, more than likely you are having a software conflict between what you might have previously loaded on your phone and the update. That is why I recommended that your do a full factory reset before your try to install the update again. There are a lot of people on this forum reporting problems with this latest update and I wonder how many cleaned up their phone prior to installing the update.

Iphone 5 update failed via iTunes. Needs to restore but keeps getting errors.

Just tried to update my iphone 5 to iOS 6.1 through iTunes in WIndows 7. First time actually, usually I have been updating directly in the phone without any problems.
When iTunes tried to update my phone it got an error, seems it didn't even got to begin updating it. Now iTunes keeps telling me I need to do a restore of the phone to be able to use it. Got the iTunes logo and a USB cabel on the screen.
Anyhow, it seems to work untill it are ready to implement the restore on my phone. The apple logo and the progress bar appears but nothing happens, it just won't move.
After a couple of minutes iTunes drops the connection to the phone and gives me an error code of 1611 and my phone goes back to the restore/recovery screen.
Seems there is a problem with the USB transfer? The weird thing is that I've been synchronizing without any problems earlier. Though when iTunes was about to begin update it installed the Apple Mobile USB drivers again, perhaps that might be the problem?
I have also followed steps in the support area with disabling security programs, reinstalling iTunes etc without any luck.Problem solved when trying restoring on another computer. Thank god!

When turns on now it goes to choose language page and is just like a brand new ipod except I have no way of being able to put music on as I always get told to restore which doesnt solve problem
Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.
