I need to run internet explorer how do i begin?

i have been fooling around trying to get this military website to work properly with no luck. after contact the help line for the website they told me it is only compatible with internet explorer. researching boot camp i purchased an external hardrive to partition for windows under the impression that that was one of the reasons why. i do not have a windows disk and i need to run IE. i tryed masking safari in the develop toolbar but IE isnt highlighted therefore i cant attemp that way. please help....
Matt

I don't know if this still works with the new version if Safari but it's worth a try.
Launch Safari. From the Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari. From the drop down menu click Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now from the Safari menu bar again, click Develop > User Agent
Try IE 7, 8, or 9.

  • I need to run internet explorer for a program I use.But can't access it is this due to running Firefox

I noticed that when I went to use Internet Explorer a few weeks ago it would say it stopped running. I thought that it was just a fluke. But when I try to download things in my MTC program they will start to download then just stop.MTC needs Internet Explorer 7 to work. And I don't like spending money on a program to find Foxfire isn't supported,or Craig's List or Windows Mail. What gets me is that Wildblue says I need to use this program and I have nothing but problems .Why does it always reset, that's dam frustrating ,reading something...BAM it's gone , Connection Reset. Can anyone help me get Internet explorer back?

When you originally downloaded the Yosemite installer it was sent to your Applications folder, it did it's thing and then deleted itself. In order to avoid that, you'd need to quit the installer before running it, copy it to a different location and then start it again to actually run the upgrade. So you'll have to download the Yosemite installer again to install it on an external.

  • What is the best way to run internet explorer on Mac and IPad and is it safe to do so??

I need to run internet explorer to access new billing software,  what is the best way to do so and is it safe to run this on macbook and ipad if possible??

You can't run IE on an iPad and the only way to use it on a Mac, since it's been discontinued for years for the Mac OS, is to install Windows either via Boot Camp or via running Windows as a virtual machine using something such as Parallels Desktop (my personal preference).

  • I need to install Internet Explorer 6 or greater on my iMac to work with a program.  How is the best way to do that?

I need to install Internet Explorer 6 or greater on my iMac (intel processor) running MacOS 10.6.8 to work with a program.  How is the best way to accomplish this?

There is no way.  IE has not been available for the Mac for years now.
Your only option is to install native Windows and use that - either through a bootcamp dual-boot scenario, or use a virtual machine to run windows in (eg. Parallels or VMWare Fusion).  Either way, you will need a full retail install disk for Windows.
P.S. the last version of IE for Mac was for PPC machines, and it was discontinued in 2003.

There hasn't been an IE that would work on a Mac since 2002. The only way to use IE today is to run Windows on your Mac:
    Windows on Intel Macs
There are presently several alternatives for running Windows on Intel Macs.
    1. Install the Apple Boot Camp software.  Purchase Windows XP w/Service Pak2, Vista, or Windows 7.  Follow instructions in the Boot Camp documentation on installation of Boot Camp, creating Driver CD, and installing Windows.  Boot Camp enables you to boot the computer into OS X or Windows.
    2. Parallels Desktop for Mac and Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  Parallels is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    3. VM Fusionand Windows XP, Vista Business, Vista Ultimate, or Windows 7.  VM Fusion is software virtualization that enables running Windows concurrently with OS X.
    4. CrossOver which enables running many Windows applications without having to install Windows.  The Windows applications can run concurrently with OS X.
    5. VirtualBox is a new Open Source freeware virtual machine such as VM Fusion and Parallels that was developed by Solaris.  It is not as fully developed for the Mac as Parallels and VM Fusion.
Note that Parallels and VM Fusion can also run other operating systems such as Linux, Unix, OS/2, Solaris, etc.  There are performance differences between dual-boot systems and virtualization.  The latter tend to be a little slower (not much) and do not provide the video performance of the dual-boot system. See MacTech.com's Virtualization Benchmarking for comparisons of Boot Camp, Parallels, and VM Fusion. Boot Camp is only available with Leopard or Snow Leopard. Except for Crossover and a couple of similar alternatives like DarWine you must have a valid installer disc for Windows.
You must also have an internal optical drive for installing Windows. Windows cannot be installed from an external optical drive.

  • Not running internet explorer in windows 8

Help! Can't get flash player to run on IE 11 and get the message "not running Internet Explorer in Windows 8"

This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Need to download internet explorer

  • Urgent need to install Internet Explorer or replacement

Please urgent need to install Internet Explorer or replacement

when i save something, it is saved as a file and htm. i never had this with internet explorer. how do i just save as i would presume htm?

Are you talking about IE's MHT or MHTML format for saving webpages in a single file format? <br />
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MHTML
Two Firefox extensions that will "do" MHT files. <br />
    UnMHT extension: <br />

    Download what?  Flash Player?
Yes, you need to close all instances of Internet Explorer during the installation, as well as any other applications that use Flash Player (messengers, chat clients, skype, etc).

  • How can I run Internet Explorer on my Mac?

I have to use Internet Explorer for work and it won't seem to work on my Mac. Can someone teach me how to run IE on Mac OS? Thanks in advance!

The best way to run any version of IE is to run it in Windows on a virtual machine like VirtualBox... it will be fully compatible since your actually running Windows.
You can also take a program like Wineskin (free) or Crossover (not free), and use it to run IE6 or IE7, but IE 8 and 9 won't run yet, and even 6 and 7 have a few minor issues here and there.

  • You aren't running Internet Explorer in Windows 8. Yes I am.... How do I fix this?

So I'm in 8.1 and get this error when trying to do anything that uses Flash.

  • I need to install Internet Explorer on my iMac G5 (OSX vs 10.4.11). Is there a secure source for downloading an older version of IE that will work with my system?

I'm not sure I properly asked my question. I have a need to post a resume to an employer who requires that the information be submitted via Internet Explorer. My OSX vs 10.4.11 will not accept downloads of the current IE version and Microsoft no longer supports any earlier versions that would work with my Mac. A web search shows thousands of download possibilties, but I am leery of what kind of schmutz might come with them. Has anyone in the community have any recent experience with a secure Internet Explorer download

Probably best to go to a library and submit your resume there.
You can make many web browsers claim to be ie.  Here is how.
TenFourFox -- It's a port of the latest FireFox to run on older hardware and software.
"World's most advanced web browser. Finely tuned for the Power PC."
--  works for me on 10.4.  Supports 10.5

    alternative download site:

OmniWeb uses the lastest Safari framework.  The open source WebKit. Other browsers like Safari and iCab use the OS version of WebKit.  The OmniWeb downloaded dmg includes it's own copy of the latest WebKit.
