I need to save a midi file

Hi All
I've recorded some piano in GB on my new laptop (MBPro) but need to edit it in Logic. Since I'm running LogicPro7 (on my iMac upstairs) it won't open' the file, as it says it's created by a newer version of Logic.
So I need to save the midi file out of GB, how do I do that?

Why are pdf files opened automatically in iPad email? I need to save the pdf file itself, so I can re-read them for later. ANy fix. Some pdf files I send are saved as pdf files unopened.

I want to update forms in the response file and save it. Sometimes it works, but often I need to save the response file in another name. Very inconsequent! How come?

I have a form that I am sending out and compiling in the response file. These forms I also want to be able to update after receiving them (when I have them in the response file).
But when I do the updates I need to re-save the response file with another name? The strange thing is that sometimes I can just update and save exactly the way I want it. But most of the time I get the message "This file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."
Can someone please help me to figure out how to solve this issue. I know that I am the only one that has the file open. I am encountering the same issue in both Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro X. (File was created in Acrobat Pro 9)

A simple Paste does not work for you?
It should place the clipboard content as a new Layer which you can then move around.
If there is any chance that the elements need to be scaled, rotated etc. I would prefer to place them as Smart Objects (File > Place …) and do the masking that is specific to the images themselves in those.

Save as Midi file?

I found a midi file on the internet but I can't seem to save it on my Mac.
I found the same file with my PC and right clicked to "Save Target As" and saved it in my midi program and that was that.
Why is it so hard on my Mac?

It's a bit complicated, but it can be done. It's complicated because the genius who wrote that webpage thought that only Windows Internet Explorer users visit the page...
Anyway, here's how to download that audio stream.
1. Open your webpage with Safari and go to Window-->Activity-->View-->As source code; (press Apple + F keys) find your midi file (.mid, audio/mid, audio/m, audio/midi, audio/x-midi, application/x-midi). Copy it.
2. Type the following command line -dumpstream into the freeware MPlayer X in the lower small blank space named "Additional Parameters" (see screenshot).
3. In MPlayer X, go to File-->Open URL, paste there your "xxxxxx.mid" web address, and press OK. Now, MPlayer X will start recording your audio/video stream.
4. A file named "stream.dump" will be saved on the desktop. Simply rename it by adding its orginal .mid (?, or .ra or whatever it was) extension and it's done.
5. GarageBand can open and play those files.

I need to create a MIDI file with control cues only. Is that possible?

I need to create a stand alone MIDI file with control cues to control a non-musical device which does understand these files.
Must I create a virtual device in MIDI Setup for Logic to talk to?
Must I create notes in order to create regions that will export?
Is it possible to do this in MIDI channel 0?
Is LogicPro the tool to use to do this?
The maker of the device uses ProTools to create his MIDI files.
I use a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.10.2 running LogicPro 10.1.1.

No you cannot trigger a paragraph style with a character or character style.
But you can have a Apply Next Character Style

In the Heading 1 style go to "Next Style" under "General"
and choose "Bullet"
The select from "Accountable for:" to the last bullet in the list
Right Click on the Heading 1 style and go to Apply Heading 1 and Next Style.

Sorry, but tracks purchased from the iTunes Store are copy-protected (except in the case of iTunes Plus tracks) and cannot be converted to another format. All you can do is burn them audio CD or, of course, back them up to a data disk.

Changing web-hosts, do I need to save email files on computer, before the MX records get switched?

Recently I changed web-hosts and still have my email accounts set up with my old web-host, with the MX records pointing to the old servers.
I set up Thunderbird accounts and opened my existing email accounts through IMAP, it shows all current email and files, that I want to keep.
My questions are-
Do I need to save my email files on my computer first or on Local Folders on TB?
Once the MX records are pointing to new web-host, then add back the files?

Providing you can still access the old server and emails are still there.
Synchronise your mail folders to get a copy of the server folders onto your computer.
Then stop synchronising.
go into Offline mode.
Move emails into Local Folders.
emails in Local Folders will be stored on your computer.
When all emails are safely in Local folders, then you can delete the mail account.
Be aware that if the emails have been removed from the server and you synchronise with the 'empty' server, then your Thunderbird folders will get updated to match the server and you will lose those emails.
Also in Offline mode you could create a backup of those emails.

How to save uploaded image file to Apache Web Server from Tomcat

Perhaps this is not an appropriate topic to ask under this forum but I really don't know where should I post my question. Hope you understand.
Ok, I need to know if my web application is running in Tomcat5 and user uploading some image file where I need to save these image files to the other server, which is running Apache Web Server. Should I ftp to there or other better method ?
Anyone got a better idea on doing this kind of process pls advice. Many Thanks !

if your Apache server is running in the same computer and if your servlet have write access to the folder in apache under which you want to save the file you can just write the file there but you will have to address concurrency issues.
Otherwise you will have to do ftp but since apache does not have abuilt in frp server you will need a seperate FTP server for this

Save As a file

I am creating a file(.mpx) and renaming it to .mpp and it wont work. I opened the .mpx file
using ms project and clicked SAVE AS to xx.mpp and then the .mpp file too works.
I Wanted to do the same SAVE AS functionality in Java. I did the following but with no use.
Can some cone guide me?

format to .mpp file format? Can you help me?Well, you probably need to aquire both a spec for the binary mpx and the binary mpp format. Then you need to read the mpx file as bytes, interpret the bytes according to the spec to get the actual data/information and then write that data according to the spec of mpp bytewise back to a new file.
That said, GOOD LUCK.
I guess that those specs are not very easy to come by and the formats per se are probably not trivial to understand/use either.
