I need to split my c partition

Hello i have lenovo g580 and i saw in the forums that i cant split the parition cuz it will disable the recovery but in same time the c partiion is 880GB and the other partition contain drivers is 24GB so Please any help

Hi mahmoudahmed,
Thanks for posting and welcome to the Lenovo Community,
Am sorry to confirm to you that splitting the Hard Disk will cause that the recovery will be corrupted and won’t be working anymore,
And the recovery is built-in application to return the machine back to the initial state if you would like to proceed and split the Partition it would be my pleasure to help you.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Soha

  • Do we need to split up windows ( xp ) on a mac pro ?

    Bonjour,
    Do i need to split up windows on my mac pro ? ( "défragmenter" in french)
    XP is on my first drive on a part of 120 Gb. I use boot camp.
    Tank you.

    Contrary to other comment,
    You do not need to repartition your boot drive on a Mac Pro in order to install Windows.
    You can format and install a Windows BootCamp partition on any internal drive, not just the boot drive.
    I prefer not to put both on the same drive (safer, better performance for Windows).
    There is a pdf manual that is part of BootCamp on Leopard or when it was downloaded off Apple in the past before it expired and was pulled. There is also the option to save instructions in the BootCamp Assistant Utility when you launch it.
    The only reason to defrag is to consolidate free space, in case there is not enough free contiguous space in order to re-partition and create a 2nd partition out of the available space which can and usually is very FRAGMENTED.
    The ideal (and actually quicker 99% is to backup the drive, erase, and restore and then run BootCamp again and try to partition it again...
    ... if I am understanding what you want to do and were asking about.

  • Help needed in splitting files using BPM

    Hello experts,
    I am working on an interface where i need to split files within BPM.
    I know,i can achieve it in Message Mapping by mapping Recordset to Target structure and then using Interface Mapping within Transformation step.But i dont want to follow this.Is there an alternative way to achieve this within BPM.
    I have an input file with multiple headers and i need to split for each header.My input file looks like this:
    HXXXXXABCDVN01
    MXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    MXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    SXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    HXXXXXABCDVN02
    MXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    MXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    SXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    HXXXXXABCDVN03
    MXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    SXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Is there a way, where i can specify this condition within BPM , that split files for every H.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Swathi

    Hi,
    have your target structure with occurence as 0...unbounded in the mapping and map the header filed to the root node (repeating parent node) of the target structure....this will create as many target messages as the header fileds....if you want to send these messages separately then use a block in BPM with ForEach option....
    Splitting and Dynamic configuration can be applied in the same mapping.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • I'm trying to create a Windows partition using Boot Camp. An error comes up telling me that I need to reformat my current partition(s) into one single partition. However, it's already formatted in the correct format, and is already a single partition.

    As made clear in the title:
    I'm trying to create a Windows partition using Boot Camp. An error comes up telling me that I need to reformat my current partition(s) into one single partition. However, it's already formatted in the correct format, and is already a single partition.
    My computer recently had a kernel panic, which apparently the corruption was in the system and needed to be erased and re-installed. I have a complete back-up using an external hard drive, and I am definitely not willing to do another one of those to reformat a partition that is already singular. I restarted the computer after ejecting my back-up, and after turning off time machine (thinking that boot camp was recognizing it as a secondary partition), however the error still occurs.
    Is there any way to get around this?

    diskutil list:
    /dev/disk0
       #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER
       0:      GUID_partition_scheme                        *750.2 GB   disk0
       1:                        EFI                         209.7 MB   disk0s1
       2:                  Apple_HFS Macintosh HD            749.3 GB   disk0s2
       3:                 Apple_Boot Recovery HD             650.0 MB   disk0s3
    /dev/disk1
       #:                       TYPE NAME                    SIZE       IDENTIFIER
       0:                            Windows7               *2.9 GB     disk1
    diskutil cs list:
    No CoreStorage logical volume groups found
    mount:
    /dev/disk0s2 on / (hfs, local, journaled)
    devfs on /dev (devfs, local, nobrowse)
    map -hosts on /net (autofs, nosuid, automounted, nobrowse)
    map auto_home on /home (autofs, automounted, nobrowse)
    /dev/disk1 on /Volumes/Windows7 (udf, local, nodev, nosuid, read-only, noowners)
    From my very basic knowledge - it still looks as if there is only one partition (not including the windows 7 CD necessary to install the windows partition).

  • Disk Utility - Partition map needs repair because a data partition needs loader space.

    I just finished setting up both my OSX and Windows installs from scratch after fitting an SSD, which in-turn was right before my logic board died and Apple replaced it, now it looks like I have some sort of hard drive issue brewing.
    This was my plan for the SSD, and how it currently displays in Disk Utility although that wasn't the case earlier:
    And in Terminal:
    My intention was to have two boot partitions for each OS, 'Macintosh HD' and 'Win 7 Pro' and a third shared data partition 'Projects' on the SSD, which I made in Drive Genius after installing Boot Camp. I don't want Macintosh HD accessible from Windows because I'll be using Paragon HFS+ or MacDrive to give write access and don't want OSs stomping on other OSs turf, hence needing three partitions. Everything looked fine until I just checked Disk Management under windows and realised it couldn't see the Projects volume. Even though it's fine in OS X, it was just marked black/unallocated space.
    So I booted back into OSX, all my files look fine so I ran Disk Utility and the Partition tab looked really odd - unfortunately I didn't get a screenshot. All volumes reported their size correctly but visually, Macintosh HD took up most of the drive. I could see 'Windows 7 Pro' under this, but the Partition Layout section had a scrollbar, which if I scrolled down showed 'Projects' squished into a tiny gap at the bottom. I ran a Verify, which reported no problems, and at some time since the Partition Layout has reverted to how it should look (as in the screenshot above), with 'Projects' book-ended by "Macintosh HD' and 'Windows 7 Pro'.
    Now when I run a Verify on Macintosh HD or Projects volumes, it says there's no problem, but if I run one on the drive, I get this message:
    Volume Macintosh HD on disk0s2 has 0 bytes of trailing loader space and it needs 134217728 bytes
    Problems were found with the partition map which might prevent booting
    Error: Partition map needs repair because a data partition needs loader space.
    I've only managed to find one other mention of this error here, but the fix is not relevant to me because I don't have Sophos installed. I've tried Single User/Safe Mode but it just boots into normal mode, so I can't do a fsck -fy.
    ** /dev/rdisk0s2 (NO WRITE)
    Can't open /dev/rdisk0s2: Permission denied
    That value in bytes is exactly 128mb, so I suspect the problem lies with one of the invisible partitions that show up in iPartition and Disk Management under Windows, but not in Disk Utility. I have backups and I suspect the root of the problem is partitioning in iPartition after installing Boot Camp, but I've never had issues with this approach in the past so I'm wary of just giving up and reinstalling Windows again will be massive hassle because I no longer have a SuperDrive and last time it refused to install from USB.
    Anyone have any idea what's going on? It seems like the sort of issue Disk Utility should just handle, at least in Recovery mode, but it's not playing ball. It also doesn't seem like a massive problem since my files all look fine and performance is OK, so I'm reluctant to do anything major.
    I'll update with a shot of the drive in Disk Management from Windows in a few minutes, in case that sheds light on anything. Thanks!

    Similar issue here. I manually partitioned my hard disk for triple boot (using Gparted on Linux), then everything was just fine until I ran bootcamp, to do something as simple as create a boot USB.
    I get the same error as a result and have to work my way into booting, by resorting first to a Linux live USB, then restarting from the live USB, to finally reach my rEFInd boot manager, or whichever boot manager should be initialized at startup.
    I suppose that the cause in my case is that some operation "scratched" the protective MBR. See this:
    http://www.mactech.com/articles/mactech/Vol.23/23.03/APMtoGPT/index.html
    I am hoping to fix it using an external Yosemite installation media: see this guide -
    http://www.macworld.com/article/2367748/how-to-make-a-bootable-os-x-10-10-yosemi te-install-drive.html
    And as a last resort to reinstall.
    I'll admit I am negatively surprised. I need this computer for professional reasons, and for the sake of "preserving the integrity of OSX", measures defined by Apple instead tend to make partitions far easier to damage. And this problem seems to affect a number of users.
    As for what I have to go through to fix it: a 5GB download, during which I have to register my credit card to the Apple Store. "Pay first, get your free software next."
    IF Disk Utility can fix it, from the external media, then fair enough. The hassle is unpleasant but it files as "a choice".
    Otherwise you can file it safely under software design calamity.

  • Need to split Quicktime movie files

    Hi Group!
    I have a bunch of movie files (MPEG4) that I need to split.
    I'm thinking a workflow like this:
    - open movie in qt pro
    - create out-point at the 65 minute mark
    - cut it
    - create new movie
    - paste it
    - rename it to oldname_"Part1"
    - save it
    - close it without saving
    - rename remaining file to oldname_"Part2"
    - save it
    - close it without saving
    So far I have the split/cut/paste part working, but I can't figure
    out how to name a open movie file in Quicktime.
    (I'm new to all this, as you can tell, and the Library in the Script Editor
    for the Quicktime components did not really explain a lot to me).
    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks!

    Try something like this…
    click here to open this script in your editor<pre style="font-family: 'Monaco', 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; overflow:auto; color: #222; background: #DDD; padding: 0.2em; font-size: 10px; width:400px">set save_folder to path to movies folder as Unicode text
    tell application "QuickTime Player"
    set my_movie to the front movie
    set my_file to save_folder & my suffixwith_extension(mymovie's name, "_Part2")
    save my_movie in my_file -- use for a reference to the original
    -- save self contained my_movie in my_file -- use for a portable file
    end tell
    to suffixwith_extension(filename, suffix)
    if file_name contains "." then
    tell (a reference to AppleScript's text item delimiters)
    set {tid, contents} to {contents, "."}
    set file_name to file_name's text items
    tell (a reference to file_name's item -2) to set contents to contents & suffix
    set {file_name, contents} to {file_name as Unicode text, tid}
    end tell
    else
    set file_name to file_name & suffix
    end if
    return file_name
    end suffixwithextension</pre>

    There are a couple of things you can do:
    instead of posting the individual line itame detail, post summary items.
    Create a dummy offset account. Total the first 950 items and post the remainder to the offset. Then do the same for the remaining items. The total to the offset will be zero.
    If you search the forum, you will find more details on this.

    Goto MD61-Enter Material -Goto User Parameters -Select Weekly (W) -Enter Weekly bucket qty in case u have PIR as your demand
    In case if you have Sales Order oriented qty then you can use Scheduling agreement kind of forecasting in VA31  instea of MD61  or Yo can try Period Lot Size WB in Material master and logging Sales Order qty .
    Check both cases in sandbox and look at MD04 result

    Hi Mahi,
    The + sign is a special character and needs to be escaped before splitting. Please see code below:
    UDF: Context Type
    Argument: inp        (String)
    for(int a=0;a<inp.length;a++){
      String tmp[] = inp[a].split("\\+");
      for(int b=0;b<tmp.length;b++){
      result.addValue(tmp[b]);

  • I need to split 2 different sales taxes to 2 separate GL Accounts

    On a customer sales order, I have a need to split two different sales taxes for a single lineitem to two different General Ledger (GL) accounts. I know that a sales tax code (2 digit) is defined on the UTXJ pricing condition and that this tax code in combination with the account key associated with the tax type is used to determine the GL account to be used. However, in all of my current business situations, all taxes (state, city, and local) get posted to the same GL account as there doesn't appear to be a way to control the tax code at an individual tax pricing condition level. Has anyone been able to do this?
    Here's my example:
    Order 123, lineitem 1 has a JR1 tax pricing condition. The main UTXJ pricing condition contains a CX sales tax code. It should get posted to GL account GL001.
    Order 123, lineitem 2 also has a JR2 tax pricing condition. The UTXJ pricing condition (from above) contains a CX tax code. However, it should get posted to GL account GL002.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Friend
    Then in order 123 in the line-item 1 say the material is a finished material , so your will be doing sales cycle OR->LF->F2
    Then in order 123 in the line-item 2 say the material is a Trading material , so your will be doing ME21N->MIGO->MIRO->BILLING
    So even though you assign CX tax code it gets posted to G/L account GL001. But even though the lineitem 2 has CX tax code it will be posted to G/L account GL002 because you will be assigning the stock in OBYC

  • Result may contain single string or comma separated need to split into rows

    Hi, All... I've searched through the forums and found plenty on splitting comma separated into rows; though I'm struggling applying it to my situation. I have data that looks like the below where I need to split a value into multiple rows if it should be but the same field in the table may also contain a string that should not be separated (indicated by the "Array" field being 0 or 1)...
    WITH t AS
    (SELECT 1 as array, '"Banana", "Apple", "Pear"' as str FROM dual union all
    SELECT 0, 'Fruit is delicious' FROM dual union all
    SELECT 0, 'So are vegetables' FROM dual union all
    SELECT 1, '"Bean", "Carrot", "Broccoli"' FROM dual union all
    SELECT 1, '"Apple", "Banana"' FROM dual)I've looked through many of the connect_by posts on the forum and I haven't come across one that splits a field if it should be but doesn't if it should not be... may have missed it because there are plenty of these requests on the forum!
    If you're feeling even more ambitious - the ultimate goal is to count the number of times a particular answer appears in an array - so notice the last portion of the data contains "Apple", "Banana"... the result would show:
    RESULT
    Banana             2
    Apple              2
    Pear               1
    Bean               1
    Carrot             1
    Broccoli           1
    Fruit is delicious
    So are vegetablesI can always sort them later based on other fields in the table - but the result above would be my ultimate goal!
    Any help is always appreciated. Thanks! 11g

    Hi,
    The examples you found should work for you. Just use a CASE expression to determine if str needs to be split or not, by looking at array.
    Here's one way:
    WITH     got_part_cnt     AS
         SELECT     array, str
         ,     CASE
                  WHEN  array = 0
                  THEN  1
    --              ELSE  1 + REGEXP_COUNT (str, '", "')     -- See note below
                  ELSE  1 + ( ( LENGTH (str)
                                  - LENGTH (REPLACE (str, '", "'))
                         / 4
              END          AS part_cnt
         FROM    t
    ,     cntr     AS
         SELECT  LEVEL     AS n
         FROM     (
                  SELECT  MAX (part_cnt)     AS max_part_cnt
                  FROM    got_part_cnt
         CONNECT BY     LEVEL     <= max_part_cnt
    ,     got_sub_str          AS
         SELECT     CASE
                  WHEN  p.array = 0
                  THEN  p.str
                  ELSE  REGEXP_SUBSTR ( p.str
                                   , '[^"]+'
                             , 1
                             , (2 * c.n) - 1
              END     AS sub_str
         FROM     got_part_cnt  p
         JOIN     cntr           c  ON  c.n <= p.part_cnt
    SELECT       sub_str
    ,       COUNT (*)     AS cnt
    FROM       got_sub_str
    GROUP BY  sub_str
    ORDER BY  cnt          DESC
    ,            sub_str
    {code}
    The only database at hand right now is Oracle 10.2, which doesn't have REGEXP_COUNT.  I had to use a complicated way of counting how many times '", "' occurs in str in order to test this in Oracle 10.  Since you have Oracle 11, you can un-comment the line that uses REGEXP_COUNT in the first CASE expression, and remove the alternate ELSE clause (that is, the next 5 lines, up to END).
    To make sure that this query is really paying attention to array, I added this row to the sample data:
    {code}
    SELECT 0, '"Bean", "Carrot", "Broccoli"' FROM dual union all
    {code}
    Even though str looks just like a delimited list, array=0 tells the query not to split it, so it produces these results:
    {code}
    SUB_STR                               CNT
    Apple                                   2
    Banana                                  2
    "Bean", "Carrot", "Broccoli"            1
    Bean                                    1
    Broccoli                                1
    Carrot                                  1
    Fruit is delicious                      1
    Pear                                    1
    So are vegetables                       1
    {code}

  • Need to split ASN at HU level

    I need to split the ASN at the HU level.  Otherwords, I need to send an ASN for each packed HU.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Karen,
    That's what I eventually did!  I'm actually sending the ASN on the output of the HU now.

  • Need to split partition my Mountain Lion HDD with Lion.

    Hi all,
    My MBP was shipped with Lion, I bought Mountain Lion and upgraded. However I now need to install Lion onto a partition of my HDD for my Firewire mixer (Phonic Helixboard 12 MKII). This mixer doesn't work with Mountain Lion sadly as they said they weren't updating the drivers...bad times. I also want a bootable partition for using my laptop live. Having nothing else but my music software running sort of thing to reduce technical hitches.
    Anyway, I cannot find the Lion .app installer on the store (even with sneaky "option" on the purchases). Presumably I have never bought Lion then? Or is there something I'm missing?
    Any ideas? I know I may be treading over old ground, but I've scoured the community for people that have Mountain Lion, but then need Lion. My main annoyance is that I've theoretically bought Lion as it came with the MBP.
    (Also didn't know if this'd be an OS problem or MBP problem, sorry if I've placed this in the wrong place)
    Many Thanks.
    Patrick.

    First let's split the HDD up so both cats can live harmoniously (I also have a twin-cat household in mine so I can tell you it does work). You need to boot off something not on the internal HDD whose partition table you are going to modify. If you have a bootable clone on an external drive, use that. Else concoct a bootable USB Recovery Disk on a flash stick with the Recovery Disk Assistant, as detailed here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4848 Also make sure you have a full and complete backup in case all goes South and you end up needing to reformat the drive entirely.
    When you have booted as needed, run Disk Utility from the external drive. Choose the drive in the list so the Partitions tab appears, click on that. You'll see your Macintosh HD volume using up all the drive space. Clck and drag from the lower-right corner upwards to shrink the volume. Can only do so if there's unused room left. You will have an empty space left underneath. Click Apply to complete the shrinking. Then click on the plus ( + ) button to create a new volume in the newly freed space. Give it a name, make sure it is OS X Extended (Journaled) and Apply. Ta-da, you now have TWO volumes for your cats.
    Now, if you're using the USB Recovery Disk, simply exit out of Disk Utility to return to the top-level menu and be able to choose "Reinstall OS X". Do that now, choosing your new and blank volume as the destination. If my calculations are right, you should be granted access to the default cat originally entitled to your Mac, which would be Lion and what you want.
    Try that for now. If the right cat does not float down the wire, we'll do more brainstorming on how to get it.

  • Inaccessible boot device after splitting windows 8 partition

    Originally my Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 14 came with windows 8 64bit, I upgraded it to windows 8.1. Later I decided I wanted to do a dual boot. The windows8OS partition was about 400GB so I split it using AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro Edition 5.1. The process didnt work, now I keep getting a BSOD "inaccessible boot device" and keeps restarting. All it accomplishes is restarting. How do I fix this problem?

    Welcome to the forum!
    Generally failures during a partition resizing are not fixable.  The easiest repair would be to just re-install the operating system and resize the partition during the process or just restore the hard drive back to its original condition from a recovery disk or image file.  Hopefully you have such options available.
    If by chance you were successful in resizing the partition and the machine won't boot correctly then try using the Boot Corrector or MBR Repair feature of your partitioning software.  After a successful resizing, the Master Boot Record (MBR) sometimes needs to be updated or repaired in order for the computer to boot successfully.
    In addition, when setting up a computer for dual or triple booting Windows operating systems you generally install the older version of Windows first then the newer version.  Here is link to a Microsoft article on the topic that you may find informative.........
