I need to transfer a Video_TS folder to my iPad but am unable

Hello,
I have an iPad 2 which I use extensively in education. I have access to all my PPTs, documents, articles etc.
However I need to transfer a video_TS folder from m laptop to my iPad and am unable to do this. I tried importing the folder to iTunes but failed.
I also tried transferring it to iFiles and Dropbox but that also failed
Its' very ackward as I now have to bring both my Macbook and iPad to work.
On my Macbook the folder opens with DVD Player.
Any support would be greatly appreciated

I used MPEG Streamclip for a Video_TS file but the resulting conversion was huge going from 2.5 GB to 8GB, far too big to fit on my iPad.
I tried Movavi trial version which worked but as I don't need to convert any more video_TS folders its pointless paying for the full version. The trial version has a message displayed on screen intermittently during playback of converted file. Therfore this is unsuitable too.
Is there a way of reducing video size with MPEG Streamclip? The user interface is very hard to interpret.
Also on another issue can you tell me if its safe to use 'Box' on Macs? It's similar to Dropbox but gives a bigger data allowance?

My calendar events transfer during sync from iPhone to iPad but not vice versa.

When I try to sync my calendars all of the entries on my iPhone appear (even the duplicates) on my iPad but my entries on the iPad do not transfer to my iPhone. I have tried switching the order they sync in (iPhone after iPad or iPad and then iPhone) but no changes. I have the "All Calendars" box checked on my iTunes. Any suggestions?

I assume you are syncing cal's through iTunes. While I am not sure how to solve your problem, I'd recommend using Google Exchange to sync your contacts. It works in real time and uses your gmail credentials to do so.

Itunes wont open- needs 2 create an itunes folder in "My music" but cant

Has anyone ever encountered this problem. I had taken my music folder and put it in an external hard drive... could that be why now Itunes says it cant open or create the file? anyone have a clue?

Your iMovie project (data) is not tied to your Apple ID. If you don't own a Mac, you could use Airdrop to send the iMovie project to another device with a different Apple ID to continue working on it. Here's an article that explains how:

I need to edit PBworks wiki pages on my iPad but the iPad's browser doesn't support it. Any ideas?

I use PBworks for my company's wiki. I also travel away from my desktop and need to be able to edit the wiki when mobile. For now, I haul a laptop to do the job. I'd really like to see if I can leave the laptop home and just work with the iPad. Apple seems to have not included wiki-editing capability with the Safari-for-iPad browser. Any plans by Apple to fix this deficiency? Any 3d Parties developing a solution?

You might try downloading a different web browser from the App Store. I don't know which one would be likely to help - or what any of them are called, for that matter - but there are alternatives to Safari on the iPad.

I can understand your desire to transfer your photos and text messages to your PC, malpa. You won't be able to transfer your messages to your PC, but you can forward them individually to an email address. All you'll to do is enter the email address where you would usually enter the wireless number.
Your device does not offer mass storage. You can transfer your pictures using your text message application. Attach the picture to a text message forward it to an email address. I hope this helps you save your precious memories. Have a great day.

If you want to copy them direct from the camera then you can get a camera connection kit. Depending upon which iPad that you have, the first three models use the camera connection kit, which has a cable for direct transfer from a camera and an SD card reader. The most recent iPad (which has the smaller lightning connection for charging) has separate cable and SD readers. Photos copied this way are exact copies of the photos from your iPad, they can be deleted directly on the iPad, and they can easily be copied from the iPad to a computer.
Or you can sync photos via your computer's iTunes, though the photos will be 'optimised' (they have some processing done on them) as part of the syncing process, so they won't be exact copies.
To sync photos, if you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate.
Then connect and select your iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

I need to transfer the Smart Mailboxes I have set up on one computer to another computer. Both are running 10.8.4 and Mail 6.3. None of the old solutions are viable since there is no longer a 'Mail' folder in the User account.

Mail is already set up to sync thorough iCloud, but the Smart mailboxes are - apparently - set up for individual machines. The only solutions I have been able to locate involve moving Preference files from one machine to the other; the problem is that there is no longer a 'Mail' folder set up for individual Users (actually there is no Mail folder at ALL under 10.8.4), and I am unable to locate any .plist files for Mail at all. Any idea how to make this haoppen?

Create a new smart mailbox. Does it sync? If not, do as below.
Back up all data.

from the contextual menu. A folder may open, or you may get an error message that the item can't be found. Either result is normal. If the folder does open and has contents, move the contents to the Desktop. Relaunch Mail and test. If there's no change, put the contents of the folder back and quit Mail again.

This time you may be prompted for your login password when you remove the items. Make sure they're removed from the folder and not just copied to the Desktop. If necessary, copy them first and then move the originals to the Trash.

By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ...
