you just need your serial number and the installation files.
if you don't have your serial number, it can be recovered from your old computer if it's a pc using Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit, for software, hardware and security configuration information on your computer.…

    Hi David ,
If it is a retail version ,then you need to deactivate it and uninstall it as well from your old computer and then you can install it back on the new computer.
If it a subscription based software ,then you just need to deactivate it and you can operate the same on your new computer by entering in your credentials .

  • HT1451 I need to move my library from my old computer to my new laptop. What's the best way to do this?

I need to move my library from my old computer to my new laptop (Windows 8). What's the best way to do this?

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

  • Wait, I'm a little confused. On my day old iMac running Mavericks, do I install iDVD from my iLife 11 disk, or somehow copy the app from my existing iMac and install it on my new one?

Wait, I'm a little confused. On my day old iMac running Mavericks, do I install iDVD from my iLife 11 disk, or somehow copy the app from my existing iMac and install it on my new one?

The following may be a bit easier set up the new Mac with the same iDVD capability on your old Mac:
1 - copy your current iDVD application from the old Mac to the Applications folder of the new Mac. The latest version available is 7.1.2.  If you don't have that versoin go to the Apple Downloads site and download the iDVD 7.1.2 updater and run it on your current iDVD application.
2 - copy the iDVD folder that resides in the old Mac's HD/Library/Application Support folder to the same folder on your new Mac.

  • I am buying a new computer, can i copy firefox from my old one and paste it on the new one

Instead of opening up a new firefox with my new computer can i copy the one from my old one and paste it to my new one so i can save all my bookmarks?

The user data is store in the profile folder. You can copy the data manually by copying the contents of the profile folder, for details see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup Profile backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base] or [[Backing up your information]].
There are some add-ons and utilities that can make this process easier. The first one is the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109/ FEBE] add-on which can be used to copy a profile. Another option is the free [http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ MozBackup] utility.

  • I have uninstalled my CS5 licence from my old computer and reinstalled it on my new one, but it says I only have a trial? Why?

I disabled my licence for CS5 on my old computer and reinstalled it on my new MacBook Pro. The software shows up and I can see the icons in my Applications Folder, but when I click in the Adobe Illustrator icon, for instance, up pops a box with "Creative Suite5.5 Design Standard Trial" and asks me for a serial number?
Why is it a trial? I own a license for the full Suite?

    Perfect! It worked! Thank you!

  • Is there any way to take backed up files from an old OS and get them onto a new phone?  They are backed up as txt files.

I have a six year old lap top with an old OS and itunes 10.  I backed up my i phone 4 on it.  I got an I phone 5 and the version of Itunes compatible is not supported by the laptop.  I installed itunes on a different computer and when trying to sync the iphone 4 to the desktop, updated the iphone 4 software.  Now my iphone 4 is no longer compatible with my laptop.  I am interested in getting my contacts and photos from my old laptop to either iphone at this point.  I have the backed up files but they are txt files in the Mobile Sync Back ups.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Generally when moving from one phone to another, individuals will make a backup of the one device and then restore to the second device. However, it seems you are no longer using the computer you made the backup on, so that can be a problem. There is no way for you to take information out of the backup and insert it in the iPhone. It is an all or none proposition. But, just moving the backup folder from one computer to another doesn't work either.
Did you sync the contacts to a supported application on the computer? Also, if you are referring to the photos in the camera roll, you can import them to the computer by connecting the phone to the computer. You do not need iTunes to do that. Just plug in and let the computer photo import utility take the pictures and put them on the computer. Then you would sync the photos back to the photo library on the new phone,
Contacts you can look at a 3rd party app that might help. MCBackup is in the app store and converts your contacts to a file you can email to yourself and then click on it and open it. Suggest syncing contacts/calendar to a supported application on the computer, or to iCloud so you can recover a lot easier.

  • I accidentally deleted my music library from my old Mac and now I have a new Mac. Can i restore all my music somehow? Even though not all 10,000 songs were purchased from iTunes Store?

Can i restore all my music somehow? Even though not all 10,000 songs were purchased from iTunes Store?
Im so devastated and desperate to get my music back.
I deleted my User Account from the old Laptop

Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match , Apple does not keep a backup of your iTunes library.  Even then it is not the library as it exists on your computer, but some version of the media, and only media files, not playlists.  Even then not all media are definitely available since anything removed from the iTunes Store since you purchased it is not available for re-download.
FAQ: Why iTunes Match Can Not Be Used as a Backup - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4112
Using Match as a backup for iTunes - https://discussions.apple.com/message/17039436#17039436
In your case it sounds like you will have to obtain non iTunes purchases from their original source or a backup you may have made at some time in the past.

  • I need to transfer my library from my old computer to my new computer (both PCs.)  How is this done?  The process seems to be more opaque than it really needs to be.  Thank you!!

My library (which includes items from CDs and items purchased from itunes) is on my old PC.  I have a new PC and want to transfer the library.  I can't see how to do this.  I've turned Home Sharing on for both computers, but the Share doesn't show up on either one.  I can't figure out how to move the library.  When I try to burn it on a CD it keeps saying the CD isn't blank, even tho it is.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

O.,.k. Maybe this is progress. I transfered the Itunes folder to an external hard drive, connected that with the new computer, and told Itunes to look for the library there. It found the library.
The playlists are not there, but that's not a big deal.
The songs I tried to transfer to the new computer are still there, with the "!" tag, meaning they won't play. No big deal. I deleted all the "!" because the songs were there in files without the "!".
    Final problem, I hope.
I ended up with hundreds of duplicate copies. Both dupes play. Again, no big deal other than the annoyance of having to delete the dupes.
Next step, after I have completed the deletion of the dupes.
    1. Recreate the play lists manually, using my Ipod as the guide.
    2. Then sync the Ipod with the new computer library, and all will be will.
Am I right? Or is there possible trouble?

  • I got a new iphone and i restored it from my old one but I'm missing a ton of photos. How can I download the photos from my old phone and get them to my new one?

    Help please!

Restore it thru iTunes. At the prompt about using a backup, choose the other option to set up as a new iPhone.
Or, go to Settings/ General/ Reset/ Erase All Content and Settings, then don't select a backup.

  • How can i export my contacts numbers from my old iphone and import it to my new iphone?

I want change my iphone, but i dont want to lose my numbers and datas!

If Contacts are the only thing you care about, you can turn on iCloud on the old phone following the setup instructions in http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ and insure that you turn on Contacts in the list of items to be synced.
You can verify that the contacts are uploaded to iCloud by then logging in to https://www.icloud.com
On your new phone, when you setup iCloud and turn on Contacts, as you did on the old phone following the instructions above, the contacts will automatically sync to the new phone.
If you want to transfer more than just contacts, the following has instructions on how to backup the old phone and restore to the new one (either using iCloud or iTunes): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2109

After entering my product code, it still says it had already been redeemed. Now I have no adobe programs whatsoever so I definitely need help with getting this onto my mac ASAP. If anyone has anything, its immensely appreciated.
