I need to update my firefox browsed to FF4, I have downloaded it on to my netbook but how do I get it to upgrade to FF4?

I have a aspireone netbook with FF2 on it. Recently I haven't been able to comment on things on sites so I downloaded FF4 but I don't know how to install it onto my netbook. HELP!!

This notice has been on the page under the Google box for the last few days. There is a link to click on to update. The next page says that I'm up to date but suggests downloading Android or offers a download of Firefox if I'd like one.

Thanks for the help. It's undoubtedly my error in not saying I'm a Mac user up front. I got there & chose return to default. Turns out that's where I have been all along. It's the Mozilla Firefox Start Page. But it includes this silly notice that I don't have the latest version of Firefox! I have the same problem, and I also wondered if Google toolbar has anything to do with it. There GMAIL was set as the default mail application at first. I have removed that setting, but Firefox 4.0.1 continues to use GMAIL instead of Outlook which is my selection for mailto handling.

PS: was the notice to upgrade browser, a pop-up window over the web page you
were looking at? Could be some adware, or other malware item is in your Mac.
I do not see those kinds of prompts to upgrade anything in my Mac, and
mine run an OS X older than your Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Visiting the same sites.

When I click on the short I get the message "windows cannot find [then the web address] make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." I tried deleting the shortcut and setting it up again but still get the message.

Try to redo the default browser and make another browser like IE the default browser and then let Firefox do it again.

There have been similar reports, yes. You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.
