Try typing in your 10 didget cell number. Restart iPhone to get the prompt again.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Since you did not say how long the battery lasts I am nut sure the battery is the problem.

initialy All I was trying to do was downgrade 10.7 to 10.6 .

You have to consider the possibility the hard drive may be dying. If your data isn't backed up, try one of the tools below:

Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.

It sounds like you can hear your Mac start up, but you do not see anything on the screen. I definitely understand your concern with this.
I found an article with steps to troubleshoot issues with displays. This article is for internal and external displays. I wasn't sure if you were using a Mac Pro or MacBook Pro from your post. If you are using a Mac Pro, follow the steps for external displays, but if you're using a MacBook Pro, follow the steps for internal displays. I recommend reviewing the full article, but this step specifically stands out to me for the issue you described:

When I try to open I Photos the screens just keeps minimizing back to the bottom of the screen

I have a Mac Book which is 3 mos old. When I try to open I Photos I have to keep clicking on the tab before the I Photos screen actually opens. It does not open to the full screen and when I click on faces or events the app closes out. The three buttons at the top don't highlight so I can enlarge the screen or minimize the screen. The screen only opens to half a page. This never happened before.

I was requested to do a software update, but the window just keeps showing that it is connecting to the update server. How long should it take?

I was requested by Mozilla Firefox to do an update, and per the request I clicked on the update. A window came up (it is now gone@#$^&!!!!) and it just kept repeating that it was connecting to the update server. It appeared to be actively trying to connect, but I never got a message saying that it did and that the update had indeed been done. Can you please assist me with this issue?

Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.<br />
You may need to delete active-update.xml and updates.xml as well if present.

When I log off, there is always an update waiting to be installed but the wheel just keeps spinning and nothing happens .

For the past two weeks, whenever I've logged off there has always been one update waiting to be installed. I found this curious, so last night I waited to see what would happen. The wheel just kept spinning and spinning--and pretty obviously the update was not installed. And now the update is still waiting to be installed. (Only in the last instance, when I was checking to see what happened, did I power off the computer. In all the previous instances, I found the computer OFF when I checked the following morning.
