I need to update my iOS to 5.0 and I don't see how to do this?
My iPad says I need to upgrade my adobe reader and when I try it says I need to update the iOS to a 5.0 I've read on how to do this but my iPad does not show what to do.

Norton has actually tried to get a update patch out for Firefox 5.0 back on Tuesday (versus taking some six weeks) when Firefox 5.0 was released. However I think some say the toolbar may not work if patch was installed before Firefox 5.0 and not after.

When connecting ipad to itunes, in the Summary tab (in itunes for your device), look in the Backups section and choose to back up to itunes.

It will - until you purchase iOS 3.
Follow the link that stedman provided, and on that page, instead of choosing the link to iOS4, choose Purchase the iOS 3.1 Software Update directly from the iTunes Store. When you choose it, iTunes will open to the store and page for buying (purchasing) the update. It doesn't cost much (a few dollars although I cannot recall precisely) and it is the only way to update from you current iOS version. Once you do that, a further update to iOS 4.2.1 is free. That particular update may occur straight away, I don't know.
By the way, iOS 4.2.1 is as high as the 2nd generation Touch can go, but don't let that put you off. I have one and although I cannot install the BBC iPlayer (because it requires iOS 5) there are many Apps that work perfectly well with iOS 4.2.1.

I've just read the another discussion (to which you contributed), in which Illaass suggests that you may have a 1st generation Touch. If that is so, then your iPod will only be able to update to iOS 3.1.3. This will still need to be purchased, but be aware that many Apps require iOS 4 or higher, so your options would be more limited. So follow the link Illaass provided to confirm which model you have.

Updated to iOS 6.1.3 and the "Done" button has disappeared
iPad updated to iOS 6.1.3 last night. Tried to add appointments to calendar and there's no "Done" button. -- can't save an appointment. Subsequent reboot holding both buttons. Nothing. Messing around I noticed a tiny sliver of blue where the "Done" button should be, pressed it, and that sliver is the button. I guess only Apple can fix this with another update.

I'm having the same issue after upgrading to 6.1.2 on my iPad 2 but it seems more refined to playlists from what I've been able to listen to as my full albums seem to play in order.
I also had my iPad crash during updating and had to restore it and thankfully iCloud put back all my app data and settings with help from iTunes to sync purchased content.

I;ve been trying to figure this out and i cant it wont let me do anything.
The DropBox import, like regular photo/video import or works for items in the Camera Roll album. Not for photos synced to the iPod like the poster has.
The poster can:
- Email them and sync them to the updated iPod
- Import them via a third-party computer program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. Those are paid apps. -
I updated to iOS 7 beta 1, and Voice Memos is gone - how to get it back?!
It is still appearing on the Settings> General > Usage page as 'com.apple.VoiceMemos' with no icon and 36.4MB used - but I need to access the voice memos I have saved. They were not synced to iTunes previously. Help?!
iOS7 was only released for developers as a BETA it is not ready for Pubic usage and can have several issues yet to be ironed out. As such there is nothng we can do to help.
If you are a developer, you should have backuped up the Phone prior to installing Beta software. Though why you are installing beta software on a phone that's in current use is beyond me. If you are not, then there's no reason you should be nor be able to install the Beta software at this time. -

I have a 4th gen. ipod touch. It has software 4.2.1 and itunes always tells me I need to update to ios 6. I always click download and install. After the download is complete, nothing happens. It doesn't install on its own and there is no option to install manually.. Thanks.
Are you sure it is a 4G iPod? Does it have a camera?

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that points to a hardware problem. Yu can make an appointment at the the Genius Bar of an Apple store or try:

I have an I phone 3G and need to update to IOS 4.3 How do I do it? when I go to settings and general there is not field for software update. I understand that is in newer phones. When I try to do it through I tunes it tells me I have the 4.2.1 version and that it is the latest and there are no pdates. Everytime I try to download an app from the app store it tells me it can't do it because I need version 4.3.

My laptop has crashed and I'm in between getting a new one but need to update my iOS on my iPad, is there anyway of doing this without a laptop or computer?
If you can't update via wifi, you can use a friend's computer, or an Apple store will do it for you.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

I am curious to know about why not to close apps running in the background
I just spoke to a sales guy in the apple store and he said that closing an app by double clicking the home button and force closing it is a bad idea, does anyone have any knowledge of what the reason behind this is?
