I need to view the private browsing history

I need to view the private browsing on my computer to see what my young child has been viewing.

You need to use other methods like a router or firewall with a password protected logging feature if you want to see the history of visited website in a reliable way.
There are a lot of ways to clear the history and other private data in Firefox.

If Private Browsing doesn't do it, try Settings-Safari-Advanced-Website Data-Remove All Websitre Data.
    Or changing Settings-Safari-Autofill to OFF.
You might also try Settings-Safari and Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
As you can see, there are several controls for Safari.  Which one works depends on what your problem is.

  • Anyway to see private browsing history on iOS7

I need to know if there is anyway to access the private browsing history on a iPhone 4S running iOS 7.0

As Ckuan says, no history.  That's the whole point of private browsing.

  • Is content viewed during "private browsing" forensically extractable? e.g does it still write the content to the disk and can it be recovered?

is content viewed during "private browsing" forensically extractable? e.g does it still write the content to the disk and can it be recovered?
If a forensic investigator was to do forensics on my disk after i browsed content under private browsing, could it be recovered
There is no intention to use this for illegall purposes, i just wondered how to private is "private browsing"

Private browsing basically prevents any data from being stored in your Profile folder. [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Private%20Browsing This] article provides more details.
Please note that cookies '''are '''created during a private browsing session. However, they are deleted once the session is ended or when you exit Firefox application.
Also note that other applications on your computer might be tracking which sites you visit (firewall, antivirus etc). They will still be able to collect your browsing related data even if you have activated private browsing in Firefox.

  • As an employer i wish to see the private browsing sessions made by a member of my staff. How do i do this?

a staff member has been using private browsing, this is not allowed in my Company. How can I view these browsing sessions, if at all.

Private browsing history is not saved on the PC. That's the whole point.
Your company firewall (or proxy server, if you use one) may generate and store logs of all employees' browsing sessions. In some cases, the firewall stores only general information and you need to set up a log capturing server to store the detail. You may need log analysis software extract the one employee's requests (e.g., using the employee's PC's IP address) from the detailed data.
Before viewing the data, I suggest you check with your HR or legal department to avoid violating any privacy terms in your employment agreements and/or employee handbook.

  • My kids use firefox on my computer. Is it possible to disable the private browsing feature so they can not go on and use it ?

I want the computer to keep a history of all the site they have searched, but can not know for sure if they turn on/off the private browsing function. Is it possible to disable the private browsing function and put a lock / password on it ?
    Thanks,
    David

Even if it was possible to remove or disable "Private Browsing" then that still won't make it impossible to delete private data like visited websites (history) or cache or cookies.<br />
There are a lot of ways to clear such data, either via [[Clear Recent History]] or directly by deleting the History in the Library or sidebar.<br />
Private Browsing makes it easier because all data is kept in memory and nothing is saved to disk, so nothing needs to be removed.<br />

If you want to see which sites have been visited then you should look at others means outside Firefox like a router or firewall with a password protected logging feature that can't be bypassed or a program like Wireshark.

  • How can I completely remove and/or disable the Private Browsing feature in 3.6?

I want to run my browser without the Private Browsing feature even usable. Is there a way to not only remove the feature, but also to remove it from the Tools menu?

There is no built-in way to remove or disable the feature. You can hide the menu options but the keyboard shortcut to start private browsing will still work. Even with the menu options hidden it is still possible to delete browsing history. If you want to keep track of all sites visited you will need an external option. If this is to keep track of children using the internet, one option is the [http://www1.k9webprotection.com/ K9 Web Protection - Free Internet Filter and Parental Control Software].

  • Where did the private browsing button go in my safari settings?

I have private browsing turned on in safari, but I set it that way before I updated to ios7. Now I am trying to go to AT&amp;T's website and it says I need to turn off private browsing and to go to settings then to safari and turn private browsing off. So I did what it said, just like I've always done and I do not see anywhere to turn private browsing on and off. I now have ios7 and I have the iPhone 4. Maybe I am just missing something, but if you have any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

It is actually in teh app itself now, not in Settings. Tap the icon in the lower right (looks like to pages on top of one another). Tap Private. (This turns in or off). A dark grey toolbar in Safari indicated PB is On.

I cleared the internet browsing history a few days ago. Since then, no history from these few days has been saved in there. How can i get it to save again?

I have solved the problem. I accidentally have set it to private browsing.

  • Can I remove the "private browsing" option?

Is it possible to completely remove the private browsing option in Firefox? I don't like the idea of people in my family having access to all sorts of sites, undetected by anyone. If not I may have to remove Firefox completely and return to Internet Explorer. Any help on this would be good.

You could use the Menu Editor extension ([https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/menu-editor]) to remove the menu entry, but this is only of limited use. For example it does not prevent anybody from clearing the browsing history.
An alternative approach is to use a parental control program such as the free K9 web protection ([http://www.k9webprotection.com]). That program has its own log of sites visited, and you can use it to block access to categories of sites that you choose.

  • Find and delete private browsing history

  • I want to remove the Private Browsing function as a Parental Control step. How?

I don't want my child hiding things from me. How do I block or remove the Private Browsing functionality?

You wouldn't be able to do it as long as the user has access to [[Profile folder]], lack of which makes Firefox not able to work - the user would be able to delete any data. Even prior to private browsing feature, history was clear-able in ''Tools'' - '' Clear recent history'' window.
To have more control, you can block some websites/ports in the router or firewall, the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4351/ FoxFilter] add-on can be helpful (but again, the users can simply un-install it).

  • How can I lock "clear history" on my iPad Safari, so that you need a password to clear browsing history?

I am looking to lock my browsing history, so that other people cannot clear the history without my permission.

You most likely have 'Restrictions' enabled on websites. Go to  Settings > General > Restrictions and check if it says 'On'. If it  does, enter you PIN and go to the 'Allowed Content' section. Under this  section there is an entry for 'Websites'. Tap this and select the 'All  Websites' option.
This should bring back the Clear History button as well as the Private browsing button.
This  is actually quite clever on part of Apple. This is a form of parental  control where you enable restrictions on the websites that can be  visited and then obviously you would want to check on the actual  websites that have been visited. Hence, Apple disables the Clear History  and Private browsing options. Apple obviously has hidden this fact,  deep. There could be a better way of doing this but, this is what we  have for the time being.

  • Is there any way to disable or not allow the private browsing function on Firefox for Mac?

I have 3 young preteen/teenage sons who use our family iMac as their computer. Even though I have a filter on the router to prevent them from getting into trouble, I occasionally check their browsing history just to see when/where they are browsing. On a couple of instances, there has been no history shown for certain websites I know they have visited (per the router report), so I am wondering whether they have activated private browsing to cover their tracks, and if there is parental control function to disable the Private Browsing feature in Firefox.

Thanks Rick for your Quick replay,
As my consultant told me , They will get lot of approval messages so we have to make only one inbox message for approval.
When they select Yes or No , if agreement is not locked by others will get approved or rejected no problem.
But if agreement is locked , it will get checked only after they hit approve or reject so i will be displaying a message to them that this agreement is locked Hit Cancel button and do the Task later .
so the approver will comeback at later at 20 or 30 mins and will execute the workitem which on double clicking will execute the already selected ( approve or reject ) status change only .
This is how i  suggested them and they said okay.
Only problem they are saying  with LOOP is they have to refresh the SBWP inbox when ever they met with lock of agreement .
If you still feel using loop and sending again is the best way i will try to ask them again and see.
    Thanks,
    Brahmam
