I need upgrade assistance.

Question

My husband needs a new phone for work and I just upgraded mine.  He needs a smart phone but has a year left on his current contract.  Can we add another phone (smart phone) to our account for the $10.00 per month and him use that phone with his old number as long as we continue to pay for the other one that is still under contract????  Just wondering what is the best way to do it to keep from paying $500 for a new phone.  He has to keep his old number.  Please help.

If you have 4 or fewer lines on your account, you can add a line and purchase a smartphone on it. Once you purchase it and set it up, you can activate it on HIS line (thus deactivating his current phone) and put his old phone on the newly added line (a line cannot be left without a phone on it) If his current phone does not require a data plan, you will pay the $10 a month for the added line. The ETF for cancelling the added line would be $350 minus $10 for every completed month since you purchased a smartphone on the line.
