Need your help on resolving this issue with Verizon. I switched from COX cable. Had Verizon FIOS triple play installed at my house about 3 days ago. I signed up online for Verizon FIOS and selected a new telephone number because I was told online that my old number cannot be ported over to new FIOS.
Earlier today, I was contacting my friends for a new phone number and learned from them that it is violation of FCC regulation that the Verizon FIOS could not port my old number. They said that the Verizon should be able to port my old number... In my realization, I contacted Verizon customer service, but the rep said that the Verizon FIOS cannot do it because the installation is completed.
I wanted to keep my old telephone number that I had years originally with Verizon and then Cox.
Any ideas on how to get or make Verizon port over my old telephone number to my Verizon FIOS? Again, I was told by a Verizon rep or online during the sign up process that it can't be done and/or they won't do it.

I have been trying for six months to get my old copper wire phone number ported into FIOS, and have heard nothing but excuses and failure. I am paying two bills, one for FIOS and one for the copper wire line. In a thread earlier this year titled "Help! Verizon won't port old phone number over to my FIOS house landline", a user reported success in getting his old telephone number ported in to FIOS after filing a complaint with the FCC. Do I need to file a complaint with the FCC in order to get some action on this request?

I wanted to keep my old telephone number that I had with TimeWarner and port it over to Verizon. What I did to save my old house phone number was I ported my TimeWarner house telephone number over to an activated cellular Tracfone that I own. So I resigned up online and selected a new telephone number and the order went thru and I had my FIOS installed at my house.
What I have learned from talking with Verizon billing, is because my old telephone number that I had with TimeWarner had been originally given to me by Verizon many years back and then it was ported over to TimeWarner from Verizon that Verizon now won't port the old number back over to my house landline because they have already ported it out once years ago for me.
One suggested I create a new account, don't know it this can be done or not. I got a really good price on the FIOS Triple Play bundle I had installed and don't want to loose the great Verizon FIOS price deal I have.
Really frustrated at this point, being told before installation that I could keep my old phone number, spending a lot of time on the phone and then being told I can't do it after installation is completed.

Why won't a contacts phone number appear in a new event added in calendar?
I'm new to using the Apple Calendar to list new events added. Previously, I used Microsoft Outlook 2010 for my business needs on my old PC and that worked perfectly for adding new jobs. Recently I made the change to a 27" iMac running Yosemite (which I love) and I purchased MS Office 365 for all of my business templates and approximately 1,000 customers. The MS Outlook program is having a lot of trouble syncing to the Apple Calendar which wasn't a problem on my old PC. So, I thought that I could just use the suite of programs included with my new iMac instead of Outlook. Unfortunately, when adding a new event and add a customer as a location, it will only list their address and not their phone number which is something that I must have. I understand that I will have the contacts listed with me always, but I don't want to have to switch between programs to pull up the listed contacts #. If this is not available then I fear that I will have to revert back to MS Outlook and just figure out what is preventing it from properly syncing with Calendar. I use the Calendar app on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad Air religiously so in the end it all comes back to Calendar.
Would you prefer that I request this post be moved into the Mac OS & System Software > Yosemite support community where you are likely to receive considerably more visibility and support to your email problem?
This current location is not heavily visited because it is for AppleWorks, the long since discontinued Apple Office productivity package. -

How do I get Verizon to move on my old phone number message
It has been over a week, 2 hours on the phone with verizon (yes 2 hours) and many promises to put the proper, "... the new number is ..." rather than the incorrect "... this line is no longer in service or disconnected". I stayed with verizon rather than go to a local carrier so that mistakes like this would not happen, but I am continuing to get the run around and being passed from one phone number to another. Does anyone know who I can contact at verizon to make the message correct as requested when we moved? The 877, 800 service, repair and customer service verizon numbers all seem to generate the same confusion and continual passing from one phone number to the next.

I am sorry about the inconvenience and confusion. Please tell me exactly what you need. Is your phone being ported? Do you have Fios service? Did you move from one location to another? When you say "move on my old phone number message" what do you mean?

i recently upgraded my 4s to a 5s. the verizon store took my old phone for a trade in. i cannot get any of my pictures to download from icloud. my photo stream folder only has a small percentage of the photos in it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
That's possible if he didn't connect to a WiFi hotspot after taking them. I don't think the "Personal" Photo Stream uploads over Cellular, unless they changed it since the last time I used it.
If that's the case, then the photos likely didn't upload to Photo Stream and are stuck on the phone.
And you're not going to be able to get them back, either. -
Verizon won't port my current home number to Fios
I've been a Verizon home phone customer since before they were called Verizon, over thirty years. During that time, I've had the same phone number at the same address. I want to subscribe to Verizon Triple Play so I can get away from Comcast. However, Verizon keeps telling me that they cannot port my number. I have called repeatedly and talked to a various people. They either tell me that "it's a copper line and they cannot convert it" or they tell me that I have a foreign exchange for my area. A foreign exchange? If I've had the number for over thirty years and my neighbors have the same exchange, how is it a foreign exchange? I have filed a complaint with the FCC for a violation of the Portability Act. I would really like to resolve this though and just switch over. I should not have to fight when I want to buy more products from Verizon.

Need your assistance in mapping Structure and Field in DME Tree
Hello Friends - I need your help in "Mapping from structure field" in DME.
In the existing format tree, It is mapped Structure as "FPAYP" and Field name "BNAME" to populate Company Code name in the Payment file.
Now I am asked to change this to populate value either from OX02 or OX15.
When Company Code name was maintained, It was maintained in short and in the address tab, Full name is maintained.
Please let me know which Structue and Field I should assign to pull the value either from OX02 or OX15.

I have maintained mapping procedure Sturecture/field - FPAYHX/AUST1 to get the CoCd name in the file. In AUST1, Length of the CoCd is more than 18, and as per Bank format, It should be 18 characters in length.
User is not happy that complete CoCd name is not populated in the file. He has come up with an alternative and shortened the CoCd name that needs to be populated in the file and suggested us to get the value into the payment file. We should not replace CoCd name with the name he suggested in OX02/OX15,FBZP.
My doubt is that if there is any filed I can use to maintain the name he suggested and assign it in mapping procedure.

Thank you for your question. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1. First, I recommend trying to obtain the update by going to the iTunes menu and selecting Check for Updates.

Verizon Won't Fix My Phone!!!!
Incredible... I've been trying for over two weeks to get Verizon to fix this line.
I've spend upwards of 12 hours on the phone, either on hold or talking to technicians.
I had to SIT IN the Verizon store, with the "Verizon on-hold" music playing on speakerphone for a couple hours last week, waiting for tech support to pick up. When they finally did, we got a technician in the store to talk to Tech Support and (finally!) open a trouble ticket.
So then it takes Verizon almost a week to even respond to the trouble ticket that was finally opened for an issue we first reported over two weeks ago. But do you think they respond by contacting us at either of the two *working* numbers we provided?? NO!!! They sent a generic text saying, "The issue you reported is resolved, Tkt#(the number).
The reported issue is that when you call my (otherwise working) number, you get a message that says, "The number you have dialed is not a working number." You can text me at my number and I can text you back. I can call out. But if you try to call me, you get that erroneous error.
So, let's see...Basic Troubleshooting -- if you think you've fixed the issue how might you *test* this before closing the ticket? How about trying to call the number and seeing if you get through to the user (implying you fixed the problem) or seeing if you still get the erroneous recording?
If the technician had even tried to verify whether or not the reported issue was fixed, by calling the phone number to see if it was now working, he would have heard the erroneous message and realized the issue still wasn't fixed!
I have seriously never experienced such incredibly poor customer service or technical support in my life!!!!Yikes! I am terribly sorry that you're facing this situation, very_frustrated_user!

IMessage won't recognize my phone number
First off, back in January my data plan was turned off for various reasons, so I cannot call or text (sms) from my iPhone. However, as long as I had wifi I could use everything else including iMessage.
Last night, a friend thought it would be funny to try to hack my iCloud account and in doing so they reset the password. So when I woke up, my iMessage and iCloud account was all messed up. So I reset my password and when I went to send an iMessage, it wouldn't work. So I went to settings and tried to fix it via the iMessage setting and I googled everything and tried everything. My last resort was to back my phone up and restore it. I did that, and after it was restored, I got this:
Which makes sense, since my data plan is turned off, but even before when I didn't have my data on, it still was "activated" and said my carrier (Verizon) on it.
So now I am stuck with this in the service bar area:
And iMessage still won't work. And ever since the restore, my phone won't recongize my number and I've tried going into settings and setting my contact card and that's still there, so I don't know what to do. Is the only way to fix this is turning my data plan back on?You need to contact your carrier, Verizon. They can reset your phone, and once that happens, while you are connected to wifi (since you say you do not have data) you can check the activation status of iMessage in Settings.
