From Device Manager,right click "Audio Device on High Def Bus",choose Update driver,
No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,

Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.

Please read XP downgrade guide, part 2, here
Your model, somehow forgot to be listed in part 2, but in general, part 2 should work for your model.
Read the guide so that you knew the advantages/disadvantages installing XP for your model.
About your request, try the following drivers
1.For Intel 965 Express Chipset Family, Here
2.Conexant High-Definition SmartAudio 221 Driver
Driver modded by silver here
Unzip to a folder..use Device Manager,right click "Audio Device on HD",choose Update driver,
No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.
Please post again If you found the mic and external speaker are not working perfectly.

Compaq Presario c700 laptop RAM.....Blue screen!!!!

Hello, I just recently removed vista and upgarded to Win7 32 bit. I tryed to add 4gb of RAM, due to the factory 1gb it came with. However got a Blue screen Error. After that I only installed 1 of/ 2gb stick of RAM and it worked.
My quetsion is, I need 4gb of RAM for this c700, Should I update the Bios for Win 7. By doing so will the c700 allow me to install the 4gb of RAM and work?

Recently i have formatted it and after that Audio feature is not working.

Please make sure MS-UAA has been installed properly
How?
Go to Device Manager under System Devices to see if MS UAA installed properly.
There should be a listing for Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio.
If not, you should have a PCI with yellow!
Right click it and Update Driver,
No to Connect, No to Search and last Install Automatically.
Use driver below and if it fail try to force install it

Compaq Presario C700 Question

I just recently bought a new charger for my Presario C700, due to the last one breaking. Now, I should note that I have not used my notebook in about 7 months or so because it was out of power and I had no means of charging. I bought the charger from atbatt.com (http://www.atbatt.com/product/23318.asp). This was my first time purchasing anything off their website. So, as soon as the charger arrived, which was March 9 (yesterday), I plugged it in, and the light on it indicates that it is receiving power, but the laptop is not charging. I need to know if I have purchased the wrong charger and should return it or whether or not there is something wrong with my notebook.

What country do you live in, Your Highness? That is going to make a difference in where I suggest you buy the battery.
This is an extremely old laptop, right?

It is not genuine HP but for the price it will be fine for an older laptop. If you must have genuine HP they cost at least $50 and have to be shipped from China.

Power Problem w/ Compaq Presario C700!!

The other night I was working on my friends compaq presario c700. I was using the battery power. I was running a pre-bios .iso file program, due to password complications. In the middle of running the program to reset the admin. password, it turned off. So I plugged in the A/C cable. After pressing the power button, the led that is represented by a little Lightning Bolt flashed 5 or 6 times and then stopped. The laptop did not turn on. Even when I have the A/C plugged in, I see no led light showing that it is charging. I don't think my software that I was running could of caused this, or could it of? What steps should I take in fixing this problem? Have these models been known to have issues like this? Any help would be appreciated.

Based on you saying the LED flashed 5 or 6 times, this generally means the battery is fully discharged. Do you have access to a volt meter or multimeter?

My Compaq Presario C700 shuts down at randomly and there is no noise coming from the machine at all

My laptop will only turn on for about ten minutes before dying, it doesn't even go through the usual shut down process, it just turns off. Also, there is no sound of a fan or any humming coming from the computer. Before this problem of the random shutting down started, there was always a humming sound coming out. This happened to the computer about a year ago, and I gave it into PC World (Ireland) and they wiped the system and it worked again. So, the minute I saw the same thing happening I backed everything up and wiped it myself, I set up my user in vista again, but the computer was the same and was turning off randomly.
Does anyone know how this can be fixed?? Thanks for your help.
PS: It's A HP Compaq Presario C700 Series Notebook running Windows Vista Home Premium.

There may be a real hardware issue (like spanning above mentioned.) When I lose sound on my phone, here are the things I try, in no particular order:
If you use Apple TV, open a movie file (you tube, music video, anything you can play over Apple TV.) Switch to Apple TV playout and then switch back to your phone. If you left the phone going out to Apple TV, it may have kept the sound routing there -- switching back and forth again should reset it back to playing to your iPhone speakers.
If you use headphones, stick the headphones in and out again. Same kind of idea, the headphone detection may have been incorrect, and the toggle in & out will help it reset back to your speakers.
If you play games, go into a game with sound and adjust the volume there. There are actually three different volume settings (as far as I have experimented with) ringer, "normal" volume, and game volume... it's a little buggy figuring out which one your phone should be using

HP would be happy to sell you a new laptop. But the C700 really has no trade-in value.

This is not a genuine HP battery but would be a good option for an older laptop.

Easiest way is to contact HP in your local region and explain to the agent you need recovery media for your model machine , there will be a cost involved for the recovery media HP will supply . Once you receive the recovery media then change the BIOS setup to boot from CD/DVD and then the machine will boot from the disks and re-install Windows and drivers for your product .
