-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.
-If you are not in the US, click http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 - Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

Click here for information. If you can't reset them through the method described in that article, contact the iTunes Store staff via the link in the 'Additional Information' section.
It isn't possible to create a rescue email address without correctly answering two of the questions. Nobody on these boards can reset them for you.

  • How do i log out off the app store as it has the wrong email and I can't do my updates as i don't know the password

How do i log out off the app store as it has the wrong email and I can't do my updates as i don't know the password

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store, tap on the Apple ID, and choose 'Sign Out'.
However, logging out of the iTunes & App Store won't change the Apple ID you need to use to update an app.  It only affects what Apple ID you're using to download a new app.
Apps always have to be updated using the Apple ID that was used to download it originally.  Go to iforgot.apple.com to reset that password.  If you cannot do so, then contact Apple Account Security, or delete the app and redownload it using an Apple ID and Password that you know.

  • Security questions not working- unable to set up rescue email and reset questions

I have been trying to buy things off of the app store for a few months now. Every time I am asked to answer my security questions, I will asnwer them (I know they are correct answers), but it keeps telling me they are wrong and then I get locked out of my account. I've tried looking up how to reset them, but when I go to do it, I dont have the option to reset, or even have a rescue email. I dont even recall having the option to set up a rescue email in the first place. On top of all this, apple's support is so inconvenient, I dont usually have the time to call. Has anyone else been having this problem?

If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you  will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset - you might be able to set a time to call them when you're able to.

  • I did not set a rescue email, and now forgot my security question answers

Ive recently added my girlfriends ipad to my apple id and couldnt remember my security questions. ive ran circles and know how to reset them but to do so i need a "rescue email" which i did not set up when i made the account like 3 years ago. I cant find any info but to "contact support' to set up but ive emailed them twice and no answer. I feel it would be easier to just make a new account but cant because this is the main email i use everyday and dont wanna lose the money in the account

this does not help. I have forgotten ALL of the answers to my security questions. I can NOT reset the answers to my security questions without answering two of the three security questions. The other way to reset the answers to these questions is for apple to send me an email on my rescue email addres which I DO NOT HAVE.

  • I just bought this macbook pro 2 days ago and it has a "password" on it that i don't know what it is?

it says name which is "owner"
then it ask for a password? I have no idea what that could be

Was the box sealed when you took the MacBook home? If it wasn't, I would return it.
Also, check the Service and Suport Coverage on the Apple site. See if the MB has been registered and if so, the date.

  • HT5312 Never set up security questions or rescue email and now I can't make any purchases on my itunes account

I'm trying to make purchases in itunes but once I type in my apple id and password it prompts me to answer two security questions.  I don't recall ever setting this up and now I can't make purchases because I don't know the answers.  Read article on rescue email address and id security questions and this was no help.  Doesn't prompt me anywhere to set up the rescue email.  HELP!!!

If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then see if this user tip helps : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

I cant remember my apple id sequrity questions and i didnt set a rescue email address. What can i do??

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • HT5312 What happens if I never gave a rescue email, but did later and now it won't send an email to reset the answers/questions?

I just got the new iPod 5, and I messed up my security questions (since I set up my iTunes over 2 yers ago) and Apple told me I had to call them to fix it. But...I don't want to call them right now and wouldn't like to in the future. I would like it fixed now and I needed a rescue email. Well, I added another email and it won't allow me to send a rescue emil. Either I'm not seeing where the "Send" button is, (which, could be the case) or they won't allow me to. There's a messag that says, 'You cannot update your account for 8 hours' or something like tha and, like I said, I'd like to purchase this now and while I remember what I'd like and it's fresh in my mind!

An alternate email isn't a rescue email, and it isn't possible to add an actual rescue email without correctly answering two of the questions. If you're desperate enough, create a new Apple ID; you won't be able to transfer previous purchases or iTunes Store credit to it.
