Maps for iPad quits when I type in the search line

I can't search in Maps for iPad since it quits every time I try to type something into the search line. I tried restarting the iPad and even restored it from iTunes. Still can't search without it shutting down. I'm at a loss for a solution.

Exactly the same here. Tried almost everything I can think of. Honestly, this is bordering on the completely unacceptable, as if you can't ever enter certain letters, there's no way to search on maps, or anywhere else on the iPad, and this is one of the main reasons I bought it - for travelling in foreign cities.
Perhaps coincidentally, a lot of apps just seem to crash like maps do, but only on the iPad, not the same apps on my iPhone.

How does one delete the search history that comes up when I type in the search box?

When I type in the search box it reveals my past search , how do I delete or stop same.
I have deleted my browser history but this still shows.

You can right-click the text area in the search bar to "Clear Search History"
You can also disable: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: [ ] "Remember search and form history"

When i type into the search bar on safari, it comes up with a yahoo or bing search instead of google like it normally would do

I've had my macbook pro for about 2 years and any time i would type into the search bar of safari it would always come up with a google search. recently it is coming up with a yahoo or bing search and not google. my settings for safari have it set to google as the default search engine so I'm not sure why this is happening. Can anyone help me fix this?

When you go to search something in your search bar , and you click in the search bar at the top , a drop down menu should appear when it gives you suggestions on smart search right ? , well within those list of suggestions in the search bar their should be a little magnifying glass icon in the corner , click on that and another drop down box will appear, then you can choose your search engine preference e.g. bing , google , yahoo etc. click on your preference and it will use that search engine when you search in your search bar. Updated to iOS 8 and now safari crashes when u type in the search window.

How do I make fire fox open a new tab when I type in the search bar and press enter?

In FF 27.0.1, when I put the cursor in the search bar, type words and hit enter, it starts the search in the current tab. How do I make FF always start the search in a new tab when I hit enter from the search bar?

I want to erase a site so that it isn't the first thing that comes up when I type into the url line

Every time I type into the URL a specific site is the first thing up. I would like to erase this site. I have tried clearing the history, doesn't do any good. I visit google 20 times a day but still this site is first everytime I start to type "g". How do I :
1) erase my preferences on the url line that pop up
2) better yet how do I get rid of the one offender from the list that pops up.

If that site has a star at the far right then it is a bookmark and you need to remove that bookmark by clicking the star and click the remove button. If the entry is not a bookmark then highlight the entry in the drop down list and press the Delete key.

The google suggestions when I type in the search box are not clickable anymore since I installed Firefox 4. Why could that be?

It used to be when I typed in the Google search field at the top of the screen, a list of suggestions would appear. When the suggestion matched my search I would stop typing and click on it. Then the search would start. After installing Firefox 4 the suggestions still show up but nothing happens when I click on them. I have to complete entering it and then click on the search button. Any ideas?

I get start page but when I type in the search or another web address it doesn't do anything.

I tried to reinstall, clear cache, extension, plug ins. But nothing works. Here's what I got

Thanks for replying again. I've got a little bit further thanks to you. I tried the US keyboard layout as you seemed pretty definte that it should work. This time I applied the setting and also started the language toolbar and selected it from there.
Hey presto, I've got the @ where it should be. Excellent.
However the single quote ' works in a weird way. When I press it, it doesn't show up on the screen. But when I press another key, I get the single quote plus the next key I press. When I press the single quote twice, I get 2 of them. This is also the same with the SHIFT ' key. i.e. for the double quotes.
Very strange. I'll look at other keyboards and see where that gets me.

Thanks for the reply but there is no option tab or wake for administration use in mountain lion 10.8.2, I only have the wake for network access which is on, I didnt used to have this problem before snow leopard now I have to manually re-login after computer wakes and then access remotely ........

I no longer get sound when I send/receive email on my iMac. I have checked off the email sounds in email and I also have sound turned on in the general settings. I do get sound when I go to things such as Youtube. Thoughts?

I did have one website up listening to something.
Pulled another up.
Paused the first, to quickly hear what the other was going to be about.
So... I was hitting "Pause" and "Play" on one then the other.
...when the audio stopped out.
Almost as if something got "confused" (to be anthropomorphic)

Try a SMC reset, please do it 2-3 times.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

My mac book air is stuck on the log in page. When I type in the correct password, nothing happens. How can I get into my laptop??

I Have the latest iOS installment I believe. I don't know what is causing the problem as it was working perfectly last night! When I type in an incorrect password, the laptop recognizes that it is incorrect and denies me access. But when I type in the correct password nothing happens.
