I no longer get sound when I send/receive email on my iMac. I have checked off the email sounds in email and I also have sound turned on in the general settings. I do get sound when I go to things such as Youtube. Thoughts?

I no longer get sounds when I send/receive email. I have used the Help and turned the sound on inside the email preferences as well as in the System Preferences. I do get sounds when I go to the web. Any suggestions?

I WAS in the process of...
I did have one website up listening to something.
Pulled another up.
Paused the first, to quickly hear what the other was going to be about.
So... I was hitting "Pause" and "Play" on one then the other.
...when the audio stopped out.
Almost as if something got "confused" (to be anthropomorphic)

I've found that the order of operations, so-to-speak, can be important when hooking up mini display port to HDMI. I have the most success with the following operations in this order:
1) Plug HDMI cable into mini displayport adapter (the cable should not be plugged into either the TV or the computer at this point)
2) Plug the mini displayport end of your new super-cable to the computer.
3) Plug the HDMI end into your TV.
4) Switch inputs on your TV to the proper input.
5) If still nothing on the TV, try a different HDMI port on your TV.

I hope you bought this from a store, you can return it and get your money back. BUT if you bought from a person off the street or off the net, someone you don't know... I'm thinking you just got screwed! And are out the money and have an expensive paper weight. I hope I'm wrong, but I think you have a stolen iPod. If you can find the person that sold it to you return it and get your money back, but I'm thinking they are long gone. If you can not find the person report it to the police and turn it over. I had the same problem when i dl-ed a new anti-virus softward, but what I did help me reconnect Firefox again!
Here is what I did,
Go to open firefox browser-->option-->advanced-->network-->settings-->and change it to auto-detect proxy settings for this network!

When I use my iPhone to call I can't hear anything from my iPhone but the person that I call can answer it but when answer both of us can't hear anything and when I put my iPhone to my face the screen is still on and when I quit the phone application and open it again it will automatic call my recent call. And when my friends call me my iPhone didn't show anything even the missed call I'm only know that I missed the call from messages from carrier. This lloks like your preferences file might have become corrupted.
you probably have a problem with corrupted user preferences.
Remove the Preferences: Remove the Aperture's user preferences from the User Library as described here:
Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
Note:Your User Library is hidden by default in 10.7.x or later - to open it in a Finder window use the "Go" menu from the Finder's main menu bar.
Quit Aperture, if it is running. Log off and on again.
Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
From the "Preferences" folder remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".
Then try to launch Aperture again.
But deleting the "Preferences" file will cause Aperture to forget the preferences settings. Be prepared to have to reset all options you set using the Aperture Preferences panel.

We have a MacBook Pro and it is usually quiet, but it sits in a stand to allow air under the bottom.
Just my opinion, but based on experience.
You are still eligible to purchase the longer term AppleCare warranty I think (3 years if my memory is correct). While it is an expense that you may never need, in my opinion, it is cheap insurance based on the cost to repair computers. I buy it and more than once it has paid for itself many times over. Not that Apple products are bad, but electronics do weird things at times.

iPod touches or any iDevices from Apple sync only to one computer. If you sync to a different computer, all your music will be replace with the music from the new computer's iTunes. If the music were purchased from iTunes, you can re-download them again otherwise the music on iPod touch will be deleted. Do you have iTunes backup?

If the PDF that you converted already has searchable text, please try disabling OCR as described in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel. (If the PDF was created from a scanned document and doesn't already have searchable text, disabling OCR isn't a great option, as the text won't be searchable/editable in the converted Word doc.)
