I no longer have my iPhone, but I need to un-encrypt it how do I do that?
I have a new samsung phone and I want to transfer some of my music to my new phone, however it tells me that my itunes in encrypted to my old iPhone and I need to unencrypt it. How do I do that if I no longer have the iPhone?
Please help someone
jrb29
I also have had iPhone's for many years and when you plug your phone into your computer and iTunes comes up on the main page toward the bottom where your you back up your Iphone there is an encryption that you set up with a password.
Maybe you never set up this encryption before, but it is there.
I am using another program to transfer my music and it tells me that it can not do it because I need to turn off the encryption in iTunes, this only comes up when an iPhone is connected and since I no longer have my iPhone then the option is not there.

HT4972 i have an iphone 3 and need to update to 1OS5. how do i do that?
i cannot figure out how to update the Ios 3.1.3 to a 5. or higher
The iPhone 3 can only be updated to iOS 4.2.1. The iPhone 3 GS can go to iOS 6.1.2.
To update you need to connect to a computer running iTunes, select the iPhone from the Devices on the left side bar, then select software Update from the Summary window. -

How do I access content that has been backed up to iCloud? I no longer have an iphone, but I want to access the music/pictures I've stored to the cloud. When I logged in to iCloud, there was no tab or option to view content. Please help.
Without an iPhone or iPod Touch to restore the backup to, you cannot access the camera roll photos stored in the iCloud backup. Signing into the account on your computer and enabling photo stream will only allow you to access photo stream photos from the last 30 days, and any shared stream you were subscribed to.
You can redownload purchased music in iTunes on your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519. -
I no longer have the iPhone & do not need the extra storage in Icloud. How do I cancel this?
You can cancel an iCloud storage upgrade but only within 15 days of buying:
Apple have made this as difficult as possible. However two posters have managed to achieve this. Elizellen was able to use Express Lane to get a refund:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/19323996#19323996
However if you use Express Lane may find you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare. julia22 managed to find a way round that by phoning them - please see this post:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/16968425#16968425
it gives the USA number - if you don't live there you will have to find an equivalent number from the 'Contact Us' link at bottom right of this page.
Poster 'CCrefund' has posted a method applicable to users in the UK: https://discussions.apple.com/message/21002309#21002309
If it is more than 15 days since you purchased the storage you cannot cancel it for a refund; you can downgrade your plan as from your next renewal date. Please see
http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmd602084a
and expand 'Downgrade your storage for the next plan year'. -

Switching off imessage for my number (no longer have an iphone but kept the same number)
Hello
I have recently transferred my number from an iphone4 to a Samsung phone.
I am unable to recieve text messages from anybody using an iphone
I have looked on the internet and found plenty of info on how to do this before the number transfers but no idea how to do it after the transfer.
I rang apple support and they are requesting a £25 charge before I can even get through to an advisor.
Is there anywhere I can email/call to get my number de-registered with apple?
Thank You
Natalieask for account security and tell them you need your # disassociated from iMessage.

i changed phones from iphone to lg g3 ad need previous purchases to get some of my games downloaded onto my new phone. im dumb when it comes to computers so i need it broken down/easy to follow instructions
You can potentially redownload previous iTunes purchases (apps, music etc) on your computer's iTunes by clicking on your id towards the top right of the iTunes screen and then clicking Purchases on the popup (I'm assuming that you have the current version of iTunes on your computer). But for apps unless you have an iOS device to install it on then I don't see what redownloading it will achieve, what you will be redownloading is just the game, it does not include any purchase history within it.
If you want to view your purchase history (e.g. order numbers, receipt numbers) then you can view that via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes. Is that what 'technical support' want, so that they can try and link your iPhone progress of the game to your Android purchase of the game ? -

I continue to be charged for Slacker Radio even thou I took thge app off my pone months ago. HELP!
Did you cancel the service before you got rid of the app... ? If you get rid of a app off to your phone the people to whom you are paying for a service has No idea you removed the app.. an app is a program. Removing it doesn't cancel anything with a service you agreed to pay for. .. sounds like you need to reinstall the app, the log Into the app and proceed with cancelling the service... think of it like this. You pay for cable service.. just because you unplug th cable box for 1 Month doesn't mean your bill goes down or stops.

How do I canel my anual iCloud payment. I no longer have an iPhone
I no longer have an Iphone but I paid to increase my iCloud storage to 15GB.
How do I cancel my account to stop further payments?Hello Ste C,
Thank you for the question. You can downgrade your storage for the next plan year by accessing your iCloud account on a computer or from an iOS device.
Use these steps:
If you want to reduce the cost of your iCloud storage, you can request a downgrade (you'll have less space available). The downgrade takes effect one year after your storage upgrade was initially purchased.
On your iOS device
Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup, then tap Change Storage Plan.
Tap Downgrade Options, then choose the storage plan you’d like to have when the next annual payment is due.
On your Mac
Open iCloud preferences, then click Manage.
Click Change Storage Plan (in the upper right).
Click Downgrade Options, then choose the storage plan you’d like to have when the next annual payment is due.
On your Windows computer
Open the iCloud Control Panel, then click Manage.
Click Change Storage Plan, then click Downgrade Options.
Select the storage plan you’d like to have when the next annual payment is due.
