I no longer want to use Gmail-How do I get it out of my life?

While I have read entries in Apple support communities and Mac forums I have never actually participated so I'm not sure how to go about it.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
When I got this computer Apple helped me set it up with GMail. I don't remember how. I just know when I click on the postage stamp Gmail open's up.
I always found it confusing and it seemed to never do what I wanted it to. I have another Email account and want to get rid of GMail (It keeps grabbing
the mail from the account I want to keep!) I just haven't been able to figure out how. Please help! By-the-way I am not very computer literate so please
make any directions plain and as simple as possible. Any help I can get would be very much appreciated.

mail app > prefrences> accounts> select the gmail you dont want by clicking on it once> hit the minus "--" button and it will be off your mac computer

I just discovered a solution! Go to the upper right hand corner in Firefox where the search bar is. Click on the icon and you'll get a drop-down menu. Go to "manage search engines". You can then delete all the no-good ones, like Bing and Yahoo.

Yes, the email addresses need to be unique to each device. You may use the same Apple ID on each device, but the email address used by each device needs to be different.

You have 2 solutions:
1 - You can use 2 differents icloud account
2 - You use the same account but you don't sync yours contacts.
You configure that in Settings > icloud
You activate or desactivate what you want.

Verifying that any iCloud account that may be signed in is signed out should resolve this error.
On your Mac, open iCloud preferences, then click Sign Out.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I don't understand the rest of the post, if you are backing up to iCloud there would not be a cable, are you backing up to iTunes on your PC possible?

itunes accounts are not the same as icloud accounts. It's okay to use the same ID for the itunes account on different devices owned by different users. That way you share purchased items. But for icloud, each user should have their own account if they want their own data, otherwise data is shared among all users.

I'm Rory, but iCloud Control Panel only allows you to set up iCloud mail, calendar and contacts in Outlook. You could try downloading a program called Calibre. It is very good at converting files between formats. I use it all the time to convert PDF's from work to read on iTunes when I don't want to have to keep zooming in and out to read the actual text.
I know that iBooks will read PDF's but they can get pretty squashed down some times. Especially if the original font was small to begin with. So I run them through Calibre and then email them to my phone and open them in iBooks.

The icon for Safari has probably moved to make room for new apps. Scroll the Home screen to look for it.
You cannot reverse the upgrade.
