I notice a lot of you started having battery issues after updating to iOS 6....

I'm not saying this could be the reason but I'm about 98% sure it has something to do with it. I have an iPhone 4S and when I first got it, I remember the display was very very bright... i would set it on low and it was still pretty bright. Battery consumption was horrible, I could literally sit there stare at the screen and see the battery percentage drop. Then when some kind of update was released about a month later iOS 4.XX something along the lines... that suppose to fix the issue. I updated my phone and it was fixed. However, it was fixed because my phone got more dimmed.. i could max out the brightness and it was still no where near the brightness of before. And this cause my battery life to be better. However after I updated to iOS 6 the brightness came back, and my battery is rapidly decreasing like it did before. So i'm guessing this had something to do with the battery issues. I'm hope this will help you all. to make your battery last longer, dim your phone, better for your eyes too

I, on the other hand, had no brightness issues on the 4S after upgrading to iOS 6, and no change in (good) battery life.  If could be something else, an app or background process that is less efficient with iOS 6?  Could be anything.

  • I'm having battery issues after updating to OS 10.9.2. Anyone else?

I noticed that my 13 inch late-2011 MacBook Pro has seen a significant decrease in battery life after updating to OS 10.9.2.  For example, I will turn off my wifi and just watch DVD's and the battery life isn't any where near what it used to be. It's only a few hours!  This is awful. My brightness settings are down and I'm not connecting anything into the USB ports and I am not using wifi. Any ideas or anyone else experiencing similiar issues?
    Thank you!

  • Anyone else having battery issues since updating to iOS 7?

After updating my iPhone 4S to iOS7, I noticed a horrible drain on my battery! From 100% to 62% in less than two hours... I have tried shutting off Bluetooth and even disabling refreshing background apps, and have my screen brightness set at less than 45% but it is still draining fast... Is anyone else having this problem and does anyone have any idea why?

Okay it seems I was right.
After I originaly posted here I unplugged my phone and let it drain to about 30% before charging it back up to full.  I went home and my 5 year old son and I played on it, including an pretty memory intensive human anatomy app for kids -- sometimges plugged in, sometimes not.  Used it A LOT last night, playing with settings, cheking out the new auto update feature, notifications, etc.  I didn't end up turning any of the new features off in settings, and even enabled a few new features.  Then, as usual, I plugged it in when I went to bed and let it run a clock/alarm program (Rise) all night.
This morning I drove to work (about 20 minutes) with turn-by-turn navigation running and a podcast playing in the background -- not plugged in to power.  When I got to work the battery showed 98%.  Leaving the phone unplugged, I have been playing that video podast for half an hour -- with a pause for a phone call set up by Siri -- and battery is currently showing 93%.
I think it's going to be okay.  Everybody breathe.

    Any solutions yet?
"No SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate" after updating to iOS 5.
Living in Canada with Rogers service provider.

Its an IMEI issue.  In my case, about a year ago, after originally purchasing my iP4 from AT&T store, I had a prox. sensor issue.  Went to the Apple Store, they replaced the phone.  Here is where it all stems from.  The IMEI of the new phone was never updated in AT&T/Carriers systems.  For iOS updates prior to iOS5, this was not an issue.  My phone did its iOS updates along the way with no probs.  However, when I updated to iOS5, the firmware did not match the IMEI with what AT&T/carrier had.  When I went to Apple Store for the issue about 3 days ago and was given a new phone....again....the new phones IMEI was never updated with AT&T/carrier.  I then again attempted the upgrade to iOS5 with the new phone and iOS5 bricked that one also.  Today, at the store, we tried 3 replacements with same outcome.
So, after 4 hours and 3 replacement phones with Apple Store Tech (BTW totally gobsmacked), we solved the issue.  Luckily, due to iPhone 4S launch, there was an AT&T guy there with a computer tied to the AT&T network to work along with us.  The issue is......once the IMEI's on carrier account and phone do not match, iOS5 shuts down the sim card reader within phone.....forever. How to reverse this?......this is a question Apple needs to come up with, because with my case, they have 5 "bricked" phones.
What solved the issue was to get a new phone with iOS4.3.5, new SIM from carrier/AT&T, have carrier/AT&T (in their system) change/match the IMEI to the new phone and activate new SIM.  Then, do iOS5 upgrade.
Simple and makes total sense..........however........there is an internal firmware (Apple Security??) issue that bricks the phone once IMEI's dont match.
I am now on iOS5.....no problems......so far.  Good luck to all others.

  • Message inbox having issues after updating to IOS 6.1

After updating to IOS 6.1 my SMS inbox has gone crazy. Most of the SMSs have lost their date time stamp. The time of receipt of the SMS for all of them is showing as 9:18 AM, which was the time i took the update 6.1. Is anyone else facing the same issue.
Why is it so that for the last few updates in IOS, it is always the SMS inbox that is having issues? From the last update, the inbox has been showing blank SMSs, and now we have all the messages in inbox with the same time stamp.
Any idea how to rectify this issue ?

i have already this problem ,  ios 6.1  iphone 4s
is there anyone to report this bug to apple ?
i did anything what i found in internet ( reset, restore, cleaning dock , earphone, and... )
    , but still not working .... !

  • IF you are having Battery issues, please read. . .

One thing that people NEED to understand about Batteries, is that they need to be Conditioned when they are New! Meaning, that the first few times, they need to be DRAINED completly until the iPod shuts down(Regardless what the meter says), fully charge it again, and then drain completly a few times!! Don't rely on the meter!! It's a Guess, for the Video's/movies/pictures anyways. Here's WHY the meter is so 'flaky' at times: When you are listening to mp3's ONLY, the meter will read pretty accurate, cause it's a low drain on the battery. When you play movies/video's/pictures, it's a HUGE drain on the batteries at the time, so the meter reflects the CURRENT draw, and that's why it seems LOWER then it ACTUALLY is. So, let's say that you start out with a Fresh charge. You start watching a 20 minute video. At the end, it shows less than a quarter of battery left, and you are like ***?! It's NORMAL!! Turn it off for a few, and turn it back on. It should be somewhat accurate of the actual battery stength! Don't rely on the meter 100%. It's a Reference, especially when you are watching videos/movies/pictures. With MP3's I have found that it's pretty accurate. But, I have found when the battery meter says it's dead, it'll last for a few more minutes..
One thing.. IF you have a New iPod, Condition the battery FIRST, before relying on the Battery Meter! !
I hope this thread helps some people out that are asking "Why is my battery only lasting XX amout of time?"

True about them 'Thinking' about NOT having to condition the Lithium ION batteries, but when I received my new laptop battery, it stated that I should condition the battery a few times. I noticed a decresed battery life, AND not-so-accurate battery meter the first few times with it. Since I have conditioned the battery a few times, it lasts much longer, and the meter is more accurate.. So, I honestly don't know why, but it worked..
I'm NOT claiming to be a battery expert, but what I have read, and have done for me. So, I wish the best of luck to you guys!! I know it's HARMFUL for you to keep draining the battery EVERY time, but I don't think it's bad for you to do it a few times when it's new..
    Just my $0.02 worth..

  • Having multiple problems after update to ios 5

ok so this morning i updated to ios 5 everything work out fine, untill I pluged my phone back into the computer..
First, My phone had over 14gb before and after the update, but when i pluged it in to sync now 13.8gb of that is used by other... then when i try to remove all my songs, apps, and photos, itunes says the are gone and my memory is free, but everything is still on my iphone. The reason why it pluged it in is to add two songs and i get (the iphone "name" can not be synce because i need 5.72gb of free space.) Been trying all day to fix these problems so i decided to do a restore and encountered another problem. About halfway in the restore it cuts off and says the iphone could not be restored. Not to sure if its itunes or the ios but i had no problem syncing my 3gs.....
I really need help these problems, or is there a way i can downgrade to ios 4.3.5 and then try to update to ios 5 again.
and my computer is windows 7 ultimate and everthing is up to date, just incase anyone needed to know.

    Jmeekman-
I tried following your steps and had no problem, although I did not actually move or delete anything.  Selections stayed selected until I un-selected them.  None deselected themselves and the action buttons never grayed-out.  I am running iOS 5.
The Mail App is one of the iPad's core Apps that you can not delete.  I could not find any way to re-install it other than to restore the iPad.
One thing you can try is to reset (reboot) the iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

  • Anyone having album art issues after update to iOS 6 ?

Mine's a strange one . It occurs in the player bar at the top , with the scobbler and repeat/shuffle controller . The album art is now missing when I play anything , but only up there . Every album art is where it should be on the main page and you can still "full screen" it , so to speak . It gets stranger still . With home sharing on and the iPad now accessing that library , it operates and displays as it normally would ... just with the songs stored on the iPad does this minor error/glitch happen . Any thoughts on this one ?
I do know this . Thre's no way I'm deleting or replacing all my music on this iPad 2 . It's 64 gig , and most of the space used is music , so it's a massive , tall order to do all that again .

It'll take time , but deleting and then re-sycning every piece of music on the iPad is the only solution . No one at Apple had heard of the issue and thus had no answers , but when adding a new album and replacing some lo-res album art , the issue presented it's own solution .

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

    Hi Peter!
I'm sorry to read that you are having issues with your Sync account.
Your best bet is to follow the steps described in this blogposts and open a bug:

After that, if you don't want to user Sync in your computer, you can stop it with this simple steps:
    * At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.
    * Once the options window opens, click on the Sync tab.
    * At the bottom of the Sync tab click on '''Deactivate this Device''' link
