i have done a factory reset on my mac air 11" 2012 but it keeps coming up asking for a 4digit number or a picture of a pad lock so this means i can not access my apple can anyone advise

I suspect your error was 1015, not 1051. This usually involves a jailbroken iPhone, use Google to find your solution.

My Time Capsule is connected to my FIOS router and to my Mac Mini. I am still able to connect to the Internet from the Mini via ethernet. It seems that the Time Capsule acts as a bridge for the ethernet connections between Internet to FIOS, FIOS to Time Capsule, and Time Capsule to Mac Mini.

Which model TC is this? The A1xxx number from the base please.
Try the setup in full isolation from the network.. so unplug the TC from the network.. and turn off wireless in the mini.. so you have mini--ethernet--lan port TC.. and nothing else.
Do the factory reset.
Now check if TC comes up in airport utility..
If it fails, turn on ipv6 local link.. if you are using 6.3 utility this could be necessary.
Still fails, try loading the v5 utility.. you will need to plug the computer back into the FIOS to get internet. Then depending on OS.. Lion according to your profile.. you can just down the utility.. ML takes more steps.

Do you have an iphone or ipad.. download the airport utility app and use those for the setup.. that can sometimes work better.
How to load 5.6 into ML.
1. Download 5.6 for Lion.

Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
2. Download and install unpkg.

Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 (now 6.2 if you updated) so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    1.    Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    2.    Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    3.    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    4.    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    5.    Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    6.    Restart your mobile device.

AS you have tagged this post with iOS 6.1.3 and iMessages it is difficult to tell whether you want the answer for iPhone or iPad.
iMessages can do groups or multi-person Conversations as long as you enter the names in the "To" field before your start typing the message.

If you mean in the Messages app an AIM Buddy list can do Groups chats.
Jabber Buddy lists vary according to the set up of the server involved.
You don't have to turn Off the iMessages ability.
You either start from a Buddy List or select Buddies in the Blue + icon drop down.

Apps icons not appearing on screen after ios7 upgrade

After updating to IOS7, my apps are not showing up on screen. They appear in the App Store under purchased, and open when I press the "open" button. How cai I get the icons back on the screen?

I think I am having the same problem.
After updating to iOS 7, a couple of my Purchased apps have icons on my iPhone 4S screen, and some of my Purchased apps do not. If I go to App Store/Updates/Purchased, all the apps I Purchased show up, even the ones I deleted from my phone (before and after the upgrade).
All of my active apps have the "Open" button next to it. But how do I get the active-apps-that-aren't-showing-on-my-phone to show up on my phone?
I haven't found any Apple support string that talks about this and it's frustrating. My commonly used apps are no longer easily accessible, which is counterproductive.

I have recently installed a free update of Mavericks on the App store. However after installing this, the Macbook Pro that i've installed on will not boot beyond the Grey start up screen. I was running Snow Leopard on a machine with intel core 2 duo processors 4 Gb of RAM and over 100Gb of free memory.
I have attempted a safe boot (holding down shift while while holding the power button down), and Reseting the NVRAM by pressing 'command', 'option', 'P' and 'R' at the same time.
I do not have an installation disk or a time machine back up.

Get round passcode lock on smashed screen iPhone?

OK I know that the passcode lock is designed for security & it is not supposed to be opened from anywhere but the phone itself
My wife has dropped her iPhone 4S & smashed the screen.
We have an appointment at the Apploe store to have it replaced but we already know they will be replacing the whole phone.
Problem is we need to back it up but as its a works iPhone she was told not to back up in iCloud but to manually back up in iTunes which we do regularly
She has a couple of days data Docs & stuff we need access but the screen is unresponsive & we cannot unlock the phone to back up in iTunes
Are there any apps similar to phoneviewer or the like which will allow us to put the passcode in on the Mac or a way to enter the passcode lock

She has been performing sync & backup for months on her MacBook Air but we get the iPhone is locked with a passcode message when we connect.
It has always said that if she connects before unlocking the phone.

Itunes not appearing on screen after downloading update

On 10/7/08 I downloaded the itunes update that appeared on the screen. Since then itunes does not load on the screen. Itunes and the toolbar appear at the top but that's all I see. I can click on CONTROLS and then play. the entire music library will play but that's all I can do.

I downloaded the latest iTunes and now I can't connect to the store and it won't read any of the cds I try to rip (I have to enter all the info in manually).
When I try to connect to the iTunes store, I get this message: "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The network connection was refused. - Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."
Is this similar to what's happening to you? Can anyone help???
