  • Error insatllaing- corrupt installation file(s)

After downloading iTunes for Windows (saved), installtion runs, then I get an message saying "some files are corrupt- download a fresh copy and try again".
    Tries, but no luck.
Recently did a clean install on XP, but have yet to install SP2.Is SP2 required for install? Would that be causing the problem?
    Thanks

I havent heard of that problem, yet. I don't know if it is that or not.
I think its possible some sort of software that the installer is tripping over in your PC. This error message, actually, is more often caused by software conflicts than by "bad installation media or a corrupt installation file".
I could see how bad RAM could possible cause that though, after thinking about it. Bad RAM will cause, mysteriously, issues when downloading software.
IF you tried turning off the antivirus and firewall stuff, you could try swapping out the RAM stick for another one and see if that helps at all.
    Good Luck,

  • Windows 2012R2 Server Image. Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file.

    Hello!
When I try to deploy Windows Server 2012R2 64bit on a local machine from my WDS server. I get this error :
"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance"
This message appear at the last step of the installation. (Finishing Install)
When I burn the image to a DVD I can install it problem free on my Machines. But when I capture said image and try to deploy it, this message appears.
The same message also appears when I try to deploy a Windows 8.1 image.
If I try to install this image with an unattended file. I get an error during "Install features" that there was a problem in "offline Servicing" even tough that field is Empty in my XML file.
The server i'm using has Windows 2012 standard 64bit. And the Image files was downloaded through MSDN.

Glad to hear the issue has been resolved.

  • Corrupt Installation Files

I have just been given a $100 voucher for iTunes in Australia, when I go to download it from www.apple.com/au (link to itunes free download) it begins download process. I select run 'iTunesSetup.exe' at which point an internet explorer warning comes up to tell me that the publisher cannot be verified, do i want to run this product. I click run and the following error is generated "Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation"
I cannot find the program to remove it from my harddrive as I believe it hasnt got that far, I went to add/remove software just to be sure. I have logged off and logged back on again and still the same error message. The only way I am able to clear the box that says "iTunes + Quicktime" which remains stuck on my screen at this point is to end task.
I am getting really frustrated. Please help.

    Hi Lin01
Clean out your Temp folder. Open "My Computer" go to "Tools" menu at the top of the window.
Click on "Folder Option" in the tools menu.
    Click on the "View" tab.
Check "Show hidden files and folders" in the list and apply.
Close that window. Open your C: drive and go to the "Documents and Settings" folder.
Find the folder with the name that you are logged on with and open it.
You should see a "Local Settings" folder.
Open it, then open your "Temp" folder and delete everything in it.
Clean out your "Downloaded Installations" folder in the Windows folder also.
You can go back and hide the hidden files and folders when you are done.
    Hope this helps.

I discovered the cause of this problem. I had pointed my "My Documents" folder to a NAS drive that I had rather than my C drive. Apparently Photoshop was dependant on it being on the C dirve. When I  repointed this back to my C drive CS5 installed properly.

  • How do I fix error message "installer file is damaged"?

I have tried to download an application that uses Abode AIR.  I always receive the same error message "Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged.  Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author."  I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe AIR and keep getting the same error message.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

This usually indicates that the certificate used to sign the AIR install has expired.  Based on an archived discussion on this topic, you can search for SignatureTimeStamp in the signatures.xml file in the META-INF folder and, if it is not found, then the install has no signature time stamp and will not install after the certificate expires.
I'm having the same problem, but searching for SignatureTimeStamp is found.  The search returns the following:
    <xades:SignatureTimeStamp>
So, it would appear that there is a Time Stamp for the Signature in my case so the install should not fail.   I would first check the above.  Since you cannot install the app, you can try to open up the installation file with the .air extension as a zip file and drill down until you find META-INF and then drill down to find signatures.xml.  Search for SignatureTimeStamp and see if it is found.
In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone else in this forum can explain why the install fails for me even though I can locate <xades: SignatureTimeStamp> in the signatures.xml file in the AIR install file.

  • Totally lost, do I have corrupted installer files?

I'm completely lost on installing BOE XI R3.1 here on a test server since our R2 installs 10 months ago were so smooth.
    Environment:
Virtual Server with 2GB of RAM and Xeon E5430
    Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2
Oracle 10g database residing on another server
Oracle 10g client and tnsnames file installed locally on the test server for BOE 3.1
We waited for 3.1 because we are using .Net here currently.  So during install prompts I uncheck the Java install and leave .Net install checked for the web services.  During install I get messages that the CMS failed to start and that I can press cancel to skip installation of items so I do in order to continue install.  The installer seems to work, creates tables in the Oracle DB so I know it's connecting, but when it's done there is a big problem.  CCM has nothing but the Web Proxy Auto-Discovery service and the WWW Publishing service listed.  There is no CMS or other services in there.  I can see the installer put all the files into IIS but nothing runs.
I thought maybe having R2 and R3.1 on the same network was causing port conflicts even though they're not side by side installs on the same box so I uninstalled, reinstalled and changed the port numbers during install.  I only got one error message for CMS not starting this time vs. 2 the time before but the end result is the same.  So, I'm wondering, did I miss something stupid somewhere?  Do I need to install Tomcat and the Java items even if we're using .Net?
Edited by: Charles Paluda on Dec 19, 2008 8:41 AM

If the CCM does not contain the SIA that is an indication that during CMS initialization the CMS failed to start. The CMS is completely dependant on the oracle DB info, so even though you see tables something didn't work. There is an install log by default in BOinstall\boe12\logging, search that for the workd fail to see if there are any more specific errors.
Another options would be to install with the mysql option and then point the CMS to oracle after install to help troubleshoot.

  • Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry

    Hello,
I have installed BusinessObjects XI 4 SP02 on server 2008 R2. BO Client tools with sp02 and Patch 8 is also installed.
    When tried to install BO Server patch 8 (ENTERPRISE02P_8-10009484) I get this error;
"Some installation files are corrupted. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation."
    while unzipping, WinRAR window throws below message in red;
    CRC failed in dunit
    \crystalreports.boe.clientactions.java.webpath_bundle-4.0-core-64\content.cab
I have tried twice with fresh copy downloaded on same server and still can't pass this error.
Loading latest patch such as patch 10 is last option since all client machines here are on patch 8.
    Has anyone seen this behavior?

    Hi,
I'm installing an updated version of Dashboard Design (SP04 Patch 0 - includes FP3). However, during the extraction of the installation file, I get the following message :
    "Some installation files are corrupt.
Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation."
I tried to download the application again from SAP Service MarketPlace but the same message rises during installation.
    The downloaded file is XCELSIUSENT04_0-20006661.exe
Did anyone manage to correclty install this version ?
    Thanks for your feedback.

  • CRVS2010 Beta- Some Installation files are corrupt

    Hello,
I am trying to download the CRVS2010 beta.  It downloads and when I run the cr4vs2010.exe I get this error:
    "Some installation files are corrupt.
Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation"
I have tried redownloading multiple times with different browsers to no avail.  I need this downloaded ASAP as we have multiple crystal reports that were ported over from VS 2008.
    Please Help.

    Hi Burns,
I just downloaded from the US link and ran the installer and it worked for me. It extracted all of the files and it appears the setup engine is almost the last file it extracts.
I believe this is a permission issue. Does it get as far to create this folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\logs
    or any \SAP BusinessObjects folders?
Try adding the EXE's to the trusted list in your Anti-virus software and/or firewall and or anywhere else Windows may be blocking executables.
    Thank you

Sounds like you got a corrupt installation file.
Step 1: Download it again from SAP
    Step 2: Extract with 7-zip

  • Corrupted Master File Table on External Hard-Drive(NTFS)

You could try some data recover software, it should be able to copy the data off for you (as long as there are no physical problems with the HD). Recuva is free, Rstudio is also very good. You will need to have enough space available on another drive to restore the data to.

The other day I went to get something off it when I noticed that I could not access the drive through file explorer. It came up with an error saying "Data error (cycle redundancy check).".

  • ERROR: The cabinet file 'Sql.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used

As the title indicates, I'm having this error during installation. It occurs when I try to install
the "Management Studio" part of the program. I've tried a bunch of things like
copying to hard drive and installing, but to no avail. To isolate the problem, i've even tried removing Reporting services, since at the time of failure it seems to be trying to install/configure the Microsoft.Reporting Services dll.
Additionally, I have SQL Express installed (installed it separately, not as part of the SQL 2005 DVD), VS 2005, .NET Framework 2.0, SQL Management Studio Express CTP. Could the Management Studio Express be causing a problem?
    Please note:
Although the error is about missing / corrupt Sql.cab, I have searched the entire dvd for the said file, but there is no file called Sql.cab on the dvd. Am I missing something?
Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

Reading though the many Google hits going way back AD-2000/AD-2006/AD-2011/AD-2014 for various installs including SQLserver_2008/2012 etc
I noted that in the main there were x2 common themes.
    1. Problem with corruption the original download.
--- Although I had not run the download checksum
--- I had previously just installed SQLServer2014_Developer successfully, so at the minute, I was confident downloads were ok.
--- Many hits mentioned this 'Sql.cab' file and 90% of the install had been successfull -
--- I figured the chances of us all having corruption of this one files were agaianst the odds and
    ---   probably re-downloading it would not fix this - but I kicked a re-download off anyhow .
    While it was running ...
    2. Network issue when installing - some of the hits asked if could be related to Virtual drives.
    --- This struck a chord
--- I had downloaded the SQLServer2014 .iso to my host PC and then copied it onto one OneDrive so I could access it within the VirtualBox_Windows_10.
--- From within the VirtualBox_Windows_10 I had then used SetupVirtualCloneDrive5450.exe to mount the OneDrive SQLServer2014 .iso and then autorun the install.
    What worked for me ...
    --- I decided to
--- 1. Copy the same SQLServer2014 .iso that had failed to install x2 from OneDrive to the c:\ root of the VirtualBox_Windows_10.
    --- 2. Remount the same SQLServer2014 .iso from c:\ again using SetupVirtualCloneDrive5450.exe.
--- 3. Re-run the SQLServer2014 install using the repair mode.
This time the [Maintenance] [Repair] install completed with all elements showing installed successfully.
    Hope this helps
