I am not able to send text messages to one particular person. Error comes back to enter a valid 10-digit phone number or short code. I have deleted this contact and re-entered numerous times and still get the same error code. Any ideas?
Are you entering a 10 digit number? Or, if it is not a North American number or you are not in North America, are you entering "+" followed by the country code and number?

I installed a suggested update, now I am not able to send/receive messages. Any advice on how to fix this problem?
No third party apps, no signatures, we've cleared out contacts and are using just the numbers. She ended up dropping her phone and got a new one. She has a Galaxy S5, I'm still on my Lumia 928.
I did a live chat with someone here, based on her suggestions we both power off our phones, remove/replace simm cards, restart phones regularly and this issue is still occurring.
This issue ONLY happens with her, even when I'm at places that have horrible service, I receive messages/calls from everyone except her after I leave the trouble areas. My phone tells me she is receiving my messages when she claims she isn't, her phone tells her I am receiving her messages when I am not. -

It appears you might need a Yahoo plus account to utilize it as an SMTP server. The server address is plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Other than that, I would contact Yahoo support directly. Ask them if they require password authentication. If they do, usually your e-mail address is your username. Often they require port 587, 2626, or 2662. Only Yahoo would know for certain which one to use. -
Pantech Crux not receiving text message but able to send text messages
My daughter has a Pantech Crux phone. and yesterday we noticed that she was not gettng any text messages. We tried the *228 update and turned phone off, while phone was on we took out battery then put it back in and powered on the phone and she was still unable to receive any text messages so we shut down her phone then took the battery out waited a minute and then powered it back on and she is still not able to receive text messages. she can send text messages & she can call out and receive phone calls but she can still not receive any text messages!! any suggestions we can do to get this fixed?? she is not eligable for a upgrade until April 2013 she will have had this phone a year in about 10 days. will they replace her phone under warranty where it has not been a year but almost by a week or two. We also did purchase the Insurance for the phone as well.
Any help from anyone to help me on what I can do to get this fixed.
Thanks
Message was edited by: Jami EmerineI am having the same issue with my daughters phones. I believe its an issue with Pantech. My daughter has a Pantech Crux and is able to make calls, receive calls, and send text messages but she is not able to receive any messages. My other daughter has a Pantech Hotshot and is having the exact same issue. We contacted Verizon and went through all of the troubleshooting necessary and even reset the phone and it still didn't work. Verizon sent out a replacement phone today (Crux) and the issue is still not resolved. This tells me it's an issue with Pantech... maybe a software update was done?? Both of my daughters are teenagers and mainly communicate through text messaging, so I am sure anyone can understand that they are in crisis LOL. Any suggestions on what to do next?

I used to be able to send text messages to my email. It's now not working. It keeps coming in as a text. Is one of my settings off? Please help?
Verizon is not doing that it is the mail that is doing that.
Check your device settings for email and read the owners manual as to how to set up mail to download. How you want it, leave on server, etc.
Good Luck -

New iPad3 and it's not letting me send text messages.....the "send" button is not high lighted....
I've already tried everything listed in these links.
I've also resync'd email accounts via iTunes between my Air and iPad3.
Messaging works OK on all my other devices using the same account settings.
Problem started around May25th.
(and yes, I already posted back then under a different ID with no resolution).
There has to be a simple solution.
I'm presuming some sort of conflict with iCloud, but not sure.
Any other ideas? -
Why am I no longer able to send text messages on S...
why am I no longer able to send text messages on Skype
In order to send SMS messages (to non-iPhone/iPad users), you need to have your iPad connected to an iPhone. Both devices need to be logged into the same Apple ID. On the iPhone, go to Settings>Messages>Text Message Forwarding and select your iPad.

Not able to send text to one person.
My mother-in-law is able to send a text to her husband, my wife, and me but she is not able to send a text to her other daughter. We tried reseting the iphone and deleting her daughter's phone number from her iphone. My sister-in-law was able to receive text from everyone else except my mother-in-law. We all have an iphone 4 except my sister-in-law. Does anybody have a solution I could try? Thanks.....
Thanks for the response Allan. There is not a red dot next to the text. It looked like it was sent successfully.I was thinking that it my be my sister-in-law's phone too but she is able to receive everybody else text except my mother-in-law. If it had something to do with her carrier (AT & T), it would be strange that it will work for everyone except one person. I will suggest to her to call AT & T.

Not able to send texts at all on new S4
I just received my new Galaxy S4 and I am unable to send texts messages at all. I tried rebooting, clearing my messaging cache and everything else on the phone is connecting (web, phone, facebook, etc). Any suggestions?
I too am having this problem. I cannot send texts; first noticed today 10/29; last text successfully sent 10/28 6:37pm.
Over the weekend I got a S4 update from Verizon.
I have tried to send to different people and get "failed" message. I have received a text message from one of these people.
When sending a text message that fails: Button with red "!" appears to left of message and "failed" appears under message in lower right corner. Message bubble is gray (normally appears blue). When "!" button is pushed it tries to resend and fails again.
Have tried sending message to self and this fails too.
Have had this S4 since August and it worked properly. Never had an iphone.
Please advise -
I have a brand new IPad Air 2. My operating system is 8.2. I am not able to send iMessages (texts) to non Apple devices. When I attempt to, the name is in red not green. What can I do to fix this?
An iPad is not capable of natively sending an SMS or MMS messages. Those services require a cellular voice channel connection, and a data tablet is only capable of a cellular data channel connection, not a voice channel connection.
If you have an iPhone, under the settings on the iPhone you can enable forwarding with your iPad - where the iPhone actually sends and receives the SMS texts and shares them with your iPad.
Otherwise, you will need to use an app and internet service like the telegram messaging app. Or you can send emails to the persons cell phone via their carriers texting gateway (e.g. [email protected] if they use AT&T in the USA).
iMessages between iOS apps are separate from SMS texts as iMessages use Apples internet service and equipment. But the SMS protocol crams a short text message into the residual bandwidth of a cellular phones voice channel and cannot be sent over a cellular data connection.
