I only saved my document in PDF, can i open it with Pages again?

I have saved my Pages document in PDF and i forgot to save it in Pages...can i reopen my PDF file in Pages again?

I have a Pages v5.1 document that I placed a yellow text background (aka true highlight) on some text. I had one word that was red text with a black underline. Exported this to PDF.
Double-clicked the PDF to open it in Preview. Pressed command+A to select all 7 pages of text, and then command+C to copy it (as RTF) to the clipboard. Opened a new Pages v5.1 document, and pressed command+V to paste from clipboard. The yellow background and red text survived. The custom black underscore did not. Paste and Match Style will strip everything, including formatting, from the clipboard text. Not advisable.
You could also select the text in Preview, and from the Preview > Services Menu, choose New TextEdit Window Containing Selection, if you wanted the content in a different document (.doc/.docx, .rtf, .txt, .odt) format than .pages.

I can't open .cwk text document (AppleWorks 6.2.9) with Pages 4.0 in Lion 10.7.1. Do you know why?
I was in the process of converting my old .CWK document files to Pages w/ my last version of Pages. Then I recently upgraded to Mavericks, which apparently upgraded my Pages. Imagine my horror when I could no longer open .CWK files - I got the dreaded message "Pages cannot open files of this type."
On another post, learned I can use the "Open With" option in File menu. I was able to open the VERY OLD cwk files just fine. Not sure if this will work for other types of CWK files, but this option works fine for document/word processing files, even old ones. -
Im having problems with Pages. when I open the application, I don't see the window that allows me to pick files to open from my computer or the icloud.
Try installing Pages again.

Allowing only ONE instance of a PDF to be open
I'm trying to work out a new system for proofreading and commenting in our business using the Comment and Markup tools in Acrobat 8 Professional. I'd like to allow multiple users on a network to interact and markup a PDF easily. I'd like to make it so that one of two things can happen:
a) Only one instance of a PDF can be opened at once on the same network. That is to say, if a user on one computer opens a PDF, another user on the network on a different computer cannot open that same PDF at all, until the first user has closed it. Also, I'm not sure if the functionality for this would be implemented in Acrobat or the operating system (Mac OS X 10.6, to be precise).
b) Multiple users can open a PDF simultaneously, and markups and comments from all users are somehow saved.
I'm sure it's more of a possibility for a) to happen, but perhaps I'm wrong. Anyway, I hope there is a solution out there! Thanks for all your help!George,
Thank you for your helpful reply. It does appear that Shared Reviews is capable of providing our business exactly what we need in this regard. I have found that Acrobat 8 does support Shared Reviews, but it only does so with Network Folder locations and WebDAV folders as locations for comment servers. I know how to get to the process to set up Shared Reviews, but not how to designate or set up a folder as a comment server using Network Folders or WebDAV. Unless you just so happen to know about that process as well, I will post a new thread, since the problem of finding a solution has been solved, but the new problem of implementing it has risen.
Although using Acrobat X Pro to share PDFs and collaborate automatically using Acrobat.com sounds mighty tempting... -

Issue :Saving webi document from BOXI 3.0 in excel with special character as report name then file name in excel is not correct.
This happens only with Mozilla, get correct file name in IE.
Steps to Reproduce:
1)Create a simple XI3.0 webi report through mozilla browser
2)Save the webi report with special character name for e.g øäåýþ.
3)Open the webi report and save it as excel or pdf file.
4)Report name øäåýþ saved, displays with other junk characters instead of actual reporta name( øäåýþ)
5)When saving the save report through IE browser in excel or PDF display correct report name øäåýþ in excel and PDf file.
Even after making changes in character encoding to UTF in the Firefox options (Content tab-> font & colors : advanced button -> Character encoding does not make any difference.
Has anyone came across such type of issue?
Whether this is limitation of Firefox or bug.

saving from Safari as PDF results in an icon with 0 byte volume that fails to open as it is "damaged" Why and how to solve?
Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
Allow Plug-ins
Then click
Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari. -
My word perfect documents have been changed to .doc but I can't open them in pages. ugh!

they are wpd files from around 2001-2003 that my Dad emailed me and on a PC was easy to simply relabel as .doc but despite this I cannot open in pages or convert to pages.

DTIn fairness to Pages, only apps that can handle Word Perfect docs of that vintage can open them, either. W
As Viking said, changing the extension does nothing to the file structure & metadata of the document. At one time Mac people didn't bother with the extensions, because they were simply a visible indicator of the app that made them, and the Mac would get that information from the file itself.
Since you changed the extensions, some Windows apps may still use those extensions to tell them the file source. When they try to open a .wpd file as if it were a .doc file, they will get very confused.
You can try to open the files by using the Menu> Open command, with the setting of "all files." IF and only if the app can handle .wpd files, then maybe it will open it & ignore the extension. -
Saved Adobe Illustrator as PDF. When opened, PDF does not contain the images?
I am using a brochure type template in Illustrator and I have placed a few images in the brochure.
I have completed my brochure and want to save the AI file as a PDF.
I have saved the PDF file but when I open it, all of the images are gone.
What can I do to fix this?Sorry for all of the vagueness. Here are some details.
I placed the image by doing: File->Place and then I just dropped the image in. I have tried to embed the image but that didn't seem to help. The images are on my local computer.
I didn't do anything to the images other than placing a rectangle box/border around the image. I sent to border to the back and brought my images forward.
I saved the file to a PDF by doing: File->Save a Copy... and then saved it as a PDF.
I open the PDF file with Adobe Reader XI -
I am in the middle of a job using CS 6, but at the same time opening the Creative Suite apps. I created an InDesign file in CS 6, saved it, and now I can't open it. I'm getting this message: Cannot open file because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC (10.1). You must use that version or later to open the file." AARRGGHH! So how do I access the file?
Sounds like you opened and saved it in CC, so now you need to go back to CC and either complete the project there, or export to IDML to take it back into CS6.

Safari keeps giving and error message. " Safari can't open the web page( insert web page here) , because it can't establish a secure connetion to the server.
It only seams to have a problem with https sites.
Any help would be appreciatedThe "s" in "https" indicates the site is a secure server--usually a site that will require a password. Connections to secure servers can be blocked by parental controls. Are you using any parental controls, either through OSX's settings (in System Preferences) or third party parental control software (such as Netnanny)? If so, check the settings to make sure they will allow the connection.

I've a very important document which I can't open anymore: You need a newer version of Numbers to open this spreadsheet.
I figured out that it doesn't matter, actually it is Qsync, but other prgrams such Sugar Sync create teh same problem
The sync program adds a suffix to the files insite the numbers container
When looking at the files inside the Numbers file/folder, I saw this (note: Alphonse is the name of my computer):

That fixed the problem and the file now opens correctly in Numbers 3.
You can take the numbers file into a windows machin, the file is shown as a folder and then remive teh suffix.
and like magic the file can then be opend in Numbers V3.1 -
OTM can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx)
With more and more use of Word Document(*.docx) (version 2007). OTM (Oracle Test Manager) can create an attachment with it, but can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx). Is this a problem for anyone else? Any wok around?

KatherineI am using OTM version 9.2 and the Word document (*.docx) attachment can be opened in this.
For being able to open a docx file, try to attach an word document from the file option in the Requirements, Test or Issue tabs in OTM , once you upload the file, please check if location is " in Database" Else click update DB and upload the document.
Once the attachment is attached to the Attachment section in the right pane, clicking on the attachment will open the *.docx document.
This has worked for me.
