I only see bottom half of video for everything I import.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer system is it running.
Based on recent posts here, you probably are working with wmv video.
If so, please read the Announcement at the top of this forum which targets the 1/2 wmv display related to a recent Windows Update kb.
Besides the Announcement at the top of this forum, there are many, many threads here on the topic.
Please let us know if you found the Announcement and deleted the Windows Update causing the problem.

Ok, so I fixed my problem, and this might help, if you haven't gotten it fixed already. I had the problem while making one of a series of movies with three sections: Titles, movie, then credits, as usual. My titles and credits were imported m4ps, complete in and of themselves, but the movie was built between them. When I tried to publish the movie, the aspect ratio did not calculate the middle to match the titles or the credits. However, if I exported the movie as an m4p, and then imported it, they all published correctly. Titles, movie, and credits all appeared in 16:9 ratio.

Safari cover flow only displays bottom half of window

Help! The cover flow in safari only displays bottom half of the window, see the picture below,
However, those pages that can not be previewed show in full height of the window:

Maybe an extension or plugin issues...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If it's not an extensions issue, back to the menu bar click Safari > Preferences > Security.
Deselect: Enable plug ins. Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, then you have one or more Safari add ons causing this.
Follow the instructions for troubleshooting plugins here > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
If it's not a plugin issue, go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .pilst file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.

New video clips only show bottom half of frame

Video clips shot with my new video camera only show the bottom half of the frame in Premiere Elements 3.0. Older video clips show up just fine.

You say that this 1/2 video display is related to video from your new camera and Premiere Elements 3.
The problem of the 1/2 video display has been associated specifically with .wmv format and a recent Windows Update kb file.
But, I would ask, just whar brand/model camera do you have that is shooting .wmv video?
By the way, what computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 3 on....Windows 7 32 or 64 bit or Windows XP 32 bit?

MicroSoft has issued an Update for Windows, that is causing problems with Displays. The following is from Talbot McInnis, who tracked down this problem, and offers a fix:
"MS bulliten MS13-057. Specifically, on XP kb2834904 and on windows 7 kb2803821 is causing a problem
For us, it occurs when decoding WMV9 files. Not all uses of WMV decoding are affected, but I confirmed that when connecting the WMV decode DLL to a sample grabber for RGB32 video, the frames arrive black on top, so that points directly to decoding internals of the WMV Decode dll.
You can uninstall these windows updates to resolve your problem."
There are several threads on the problem that this Update is causing on the PrE and PrPro Forums, so one can get more details. So far, there is not another fix from either MS, or Adobe.

This notice suggests deleting Windows Update kb 2834904 for Windows XP, and Windows Update kb 2803821 for Windows 7. So, please let us know your situation and whether any of this applies to you and whether your problem was solved by taking one of these actions.

DVD only fills bottom half of window

When I try to watch a movie using DVD player, I only see the bottom half of the movie. The top half of the DVD player window is black. I used the program Pacifist to reinstall the DVD player package from a Mac OS install disk, but the problem persists. Anyone know what to do? Thanks in advance.

How can I make Zotero fill the screen instead of only the bottom half?

I installed Zotero program but it occupies only the bottom part of my screen. How do I enlarge it and remove the Firefox part in the upper half?

Does your email site have a print button to format the page for printing? That often gives the best results.
If this just started with Firefox 4, it could be related to a change in how strict Firefox is about a page's HTML code. To see whether this problem is caused by the new HTML5 parser, you can turn it off like this:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''html5''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''html5.parser.enable''' to toggle it to false (it should turn bold).
Then return to your mail site, reload the page, and test again. (Print Preview might be sufficient for testing.)
Does that make any difference? If so, the site might not yet be fully compatible with Firefox 4 -- or you have found a bug in Firefox.

I only see myself in Facetime video

This is the first time I have tried to use Facetime. I called a friend that has an iphone 4, we were both connected to different home WiFi networks. I would initiate the call & when she answered would hit the facetime button. We could both hear each other but both only could see ourselves in the video. There are no camera buttons, etc. to change view. I have followed the Apple Instructions for using Facetime that has been posted at various times within the Facetime Discussion thread. I have a new iMac with the Airport extreme router. I have read that the port forwarding must set correctly. There is another statement that says most WiFi networks will work automatically with video calls. Is this my issue? My friend has used facetime with other people just fine. However in the call with me had the same issues as I did. Any thoughts?

The resolution is, and sadly you won't like it...even through you are both on wireless network, you're not on the same wireless network. Facetime only works if you are on the same wireless network...or you jailbreak. It's really messed up and if you look at the promotion of Facetime, you wouldn't know this to be the case.
My theory is it's crippled in the phone because the cell networks probably couldn't handle all the data from users.

TS4062 I can't see videos I have taken on my ipad either in iCloud or when I sync my ipad to my macbookpro (both are up to date) I can only see photos? The videos are only few seconds long?

I can't see videos i have taken on my ipad in the iCloud all synced as i can see the still photos i have taken but not the videos. The videos are only a few seconds long. I have also tried syncing via USB cable from iPad to my Macbookpro and it wont sync either the photos or the videos in iTunes I have re checked the sync set up in itunes bt still nothing?
Any ideas would be appreciated

What you've outlined in this part of the post is all that icloud stores for you outside of the backup. If you want to restore from the icloud backup you will then have for all practical purposes a carbon restoration back to your device if you restore from the icloud backup.

Apply brightness corrections to bottom half only?

Go to 'Effects-Video Effects-Transition' you will find Linear wipe. Add this effect to the copy of your footage. It will help at this point to turn off the original footage track. Adjust the wipe angle, percentage and feather to just sellect the area you want to colour correct. Turn back on the original track and then colour correct the new clip till it looks right.

I dropped my phone in juice. Only the bottom was submerged in orange juice. How severe is this and what do I need to do?

What do I do? I dropped my iphone 4 in a cup of juice. Only the bottom was submerged. I turned it off immediately. THe speakers sound like they are busted like when you bust speakers in a car. When it rings it is ringing and vibrating and cutting in and out.

FF updated something so that history takes up whole bottom half of screen; I cannot surf, or even see start menu. I cannot change menu items so that I am asked before something is downloaded and uopdated automatically. These were NOT my settings!

My browser was very slow, so I cleared cookies and cache. When FF (4.0) restarted, it said it had installed colourful tabs (which I ALREADY HAD). I opened FF and typed in mmy first TE on my list ( I surf traffic exchanges). But I cannot do so on FF anymore. Only half my computer screen is from the TE or web page, and the bottom HALF of the screen is for History, etc. I cannot even see or access the Start menu or my open tabs at the bottom of the screen, unless I use Control and Escape.
I got the url from FF 4.0 , uninstalled the old version and reinstalled it. Same thing. I uninstalled it again, straight from my control panel (Windows Vista Home Premium), cleared cookies and cache again, fixed registry problems again, and restarted my computer. STILL same thing!
I tried to adjust settings, but it will not let me change what I need to. I cannot unclick that updates will be downloaded and installed automatically, and check that I want to be asked each time. I do not know if I can even SEE what was updated, to give you an idea if that could have caused this very nasty problem. Nasty, because until it is fixed, I will not be using FF.

After following all the instructions given, I poked around safe websites as suggested. I am not sure why this step was needed, as websites functioned rather normally before I came here but I did it anyways and found that the websites still work the same as they did. I can still do everything I used to be able to do. I see no change in the function of the websites.
However, I still cannot resize, close, or move the browser window. I don't know if Netflix is a safe site or not (too many conflicting opinions on that one from the masses) so I don't know if the issue with the vanishing buttons is still there, but all the issues I had with the browser window itself is still there.
Even in safe mode the browsers three window control buttons on the top right refuse to let me use them and the window itself will refuse to be moved around.

Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.

The websites are being stretched sideways to twice their normal width so I can see only the left half of a site unless I go into "Fullscreen" mode; ideas?

Whenever I use Firefox the page opens so that I can see only the left half of whatever site; i.e. half of the useful page info (the rest is cut off) displays on the right half of my screen while the left half of my screen shows just background of the site. Using the maximise/restore button does nothing. If I swap to the fullscreen view I can see everything fine but obviously I lose my tool bars. I installed the latest version of Firefox with no joy. I've looked for a page setup function to no avail. I thought that time would fix this as it is something that has happened before but was temporary. Other browsers work fine. I thought about uninstalling then re-installing but I'm not keen to lose my bookmarks etc. unless I have to. Thanks for your help in advance; I hope this ramble makes some sense.
