I open Preview in full screen mode and open two files.

How do I switch between the files? In non full-screen mode I can press cmd +` but this does not work in full-screen. I can go to Windows and choose the one I want but that is inconvenient. I tried this in Mail and Windows does not work.

Hi there
The only way to display things in that manner from inside the browser is to use JavaScript to open the window. When you open the window using JavaScript, you have the ability to define many of the window characteristics, such as toolbars and all that.
Likely this will require engaging in a conversation with the support area of whomever supports the LMS you are using in order to figure out what you need to change to make this happen when the LMS serves the Captivate content.

    No no, if you read what I said, it would be that each individual display would be customizable to the user. The way you have it, it sounds like your second display will be dedicated to scrolling through fullscreen apps not allowing you to do it on the home screen. This is silly because with my concept, you could do that, by dragging apps to fullscreen in your second display, but if you want you could tell another display to scroll through fullscreen apps (independently) if you wanted. Each display will have it's own mission control with it's own set of desktops. I also can see how some people would still want them linked together, so this could just be a little check box made in mission control prefs to "link" or "unlink" desktops with link checked by default.
    With your solution you're limited to your setup. but what if the person has three or four displays? Well then your solution would limit them to one dedicated display that scrolls through fullscreen apps where mine lets a person customize their desktops depending on their preference and setup.
    further example: if you have safari, address book and mail in one display, you could still have ichat, PS and Illustrator in your second, and a text editor, FTP Client and iTunes in your third. Then you would mix and match these apps but it would promote the use of mulitple displays as well as benefit people with three or more, which thunderbolt, Cinema Display and Pro computers support.

  • Can I change the transition animation in Preview's full-screen mode?

    When moving through a PDF file in Preview's full-screen mode, the pages slide off to the left/right when using arrow keys (up when using the space bar). I discovered that I can skip this animation by holding down the option key when I hit the arrow key, or by using a four-finger swipe.  But I'd like to use my remote to advance pages in the PDF, and I'd like to get rid of the transition animations permanently.  Is there a way to customize the transition animation preference? I don't see anything in the Preferences to do this.
    Thanks in advance.

    Just as an update, Ralph explained (here) that in Snow Leopard, the iChat application no longer gets it's speed values from QuickTime.

  • Full Screen mode and two monitors

    I consider this an oddity in Lion. I have two monitors. If I have Mail open in the left one and let's say Address book on the right one, and I put Mail into full screen mode, the other monitor goes gray. So . . . no way to have one monitor in full screen mode and still use the second monitor!

    This is Apple's warped sense of humor about how full screen should work.  Aparrently the designer only uses tablets so has no clue how the real world works.
    This is totally hated by most  power users but,  alas,  Apple aren't doing anything about fixing this patently broken design,  let alone admitting that they could have made a mistake.
    Your options are to either put up with it or back out to Snow Leopard.

  • I can't exit full screen mode and there are no navigation areas like I used to have.

    I just loaded Foxfire 4.0. I tried out full screen mode and cannot get back to the original mode. Even more annoying is that there doesn't seem to be any way to open new tabs or show the items that I used to keep at the top of my start screen. It's annoying enough to have to learn a new version without having to start from scratch as it were. Why can't new versions let you keep some of the old familiar places from before??? I'm seriously considering trying to go back to my old version. HELP ME!!

    You could go back to the old version but it is relatively easy to make firefox 4 look and behave more like firefox 3.6, although there could be disadvantages in doing that. see [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]]
    Keyboard key '''F11 should toggle full screen on or off''' as before
    Touching the top edge of the screen with the mouse pointer should also display toolbars.
    The menubar and bookmarks toolbar do not display by default in firefox 4, if you are not using a Mac it will display the firefox button. Alt or f10 will temporarilly display the menubar toolbar, even if the firefox button is displayed, from the option
    * '''View -> toolbars -> [x] menu bar [x]bookmarks toolbar'''
    you may set the bars to display permenantly if you wish.
    Another change is the''' tabs on top''' again settable from the view menu or the firefox button. see [[why are tabs on top]]

  • I was using the newest version on OSX 10.7.5 and I was in full screen mode and viewing a photo and it was impossible to exit full screen. This happened at 11:03pm on Friday April 12, 2013. How to fix

    I was using the newest version on OSX 10.7.5 and I was in full screen mode and viewing a photo and it was impossible to exit full screen. This happened at 11:03pm on Friday April 12, 2013. I deleted this from my apps and then deleted iphoto from my purchases in macbook app store the search it the app store and it says it has still been installed. What can I do to fix it?

    Well deleting it from your machine was not the way to go.
    Deleting it from your Purchases List was definitely not the way to go.
    So, I'm not really sure how you're going to reinstall it.
    But figure that out and we can try help. Contact App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the App Store Window. They should be able to get it back on your purchases list so you can reinstall it.

    I have the same question.  This is also made more difficult as apple has taken away the handy full screen icon on the upper right hand corner.

    The Mac has never needed "Full Screen". It has done multiple screen Extended Desktop since 1987.
    Full screen is an iPhone feature, carried into this verion with the mult-touch gestures and other so-called "unifying" features.

  • Lightroom bugs: full screen mode and import

    I'm considering buying Lightroom, it's quite impressive for a v1.0. But there are some troubling bugs I've run into on my 2nd or 3rd day of use.
    Platform: Vista Ultimate, Lightroom 1.0, P4 2.8ghz, 1.5 GB mem + 2 GB ReadyBoost.
    - Full screen mode is broken? I switched into full screen mode, and then back into normal mode. But now when I minimize the app and alt tab or click back into it, it's back in full screen mode. So I put it back into normal mode, but it goes back to full screen the next time I return to it. Very annoying. It's not just when I minimize it. If I change window focus *at all*, it sets itself to full screen mode.
    - Import from camera doesn't work. When I attached my Canon 20d and selected Import from 20d, it said "Could not find files" or something. I had to import through Canon EOS Viewer.
    Both of these features are a pretty basic part of workflow, so I'm surprised they're broken.

    There are know issues with Vista which isn't supported yet. Also import has some issues to be resolved.
    The read me has some of this noted.

    Thanks

    I just tested that since I hardly ever use full screen mode, this was the first time since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and it worked fine for me.
    Try shutting Safari down and see if that changes anything.
    If that doesn't change anything, try shutting down and then rebooting.

  • Using Apple TV/Airplay for a full screen movie and opening new window on laptop

    When I have a full screen movie playing on my TV in AirPlay dual screen mode, and I open a new Safari window or my Mail, the window appears seemingly by default on top of the movie rather than coming up on my laptop monitor.  Is there a spot I can reset the default for new Safari windows and Mail windows to my laptop monitor, so they don't interrupt the movie on my TV?
    Background: my girls love Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife which I find terribly boring, and need to find something to do while the movies are playing rather than fall asleep! And you know what happens if Safari shows up over top of their beloved Downton!

    it being mirror and many tv's being widescreen 16:9 and the screen of ios device not being widescreen this happen
    most tv's support having top and button chopped or streghed to fill the tv this is something one does with the tv's remote

  • Open Captivate in full screen mode

    Hello all-
    I am trying to have my captivate course open in full screen mode versus having the browser toolbars appear. The Full screen button doesn't work because I am publishing this course as AICC complaint in order for it to go into an LMS. (plateau)
    Has anyone dealt with this situation before?
    I am using captivate 4 for this course.
    Thank you!

  • Opening swf in full screen mode

    Hi,
    Is there a way to adjust the screen resolution through actionscript? My requirement is to open the flash movie in full screen mode while all the contents are resized according to the screen size that the movie clip is runing. Please note the movie is not opening on a browser, it should be opened as a stand-alone SWF file.
    I tried to do this by setting stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN; at the begining of actionscripot, but it didn't work.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I am using the below function and it is working fine..
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    import flash.display.StageDisplayState;
    fullScreenBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onfullScreen);
    function onfullScreen(event:MouseEvent):void
              stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;
    i think the problem is you are trying to load it full screen from flash IDE, if so then it will not work, Try to run the SWF file seperately, it would definately work.

  • How do I set Firefox to start on login in full screen mode and permanently disable the tool bars?

    I am trying to set up a touch screen windows 7 lenovo desktop for use by older users with no prior experiance of PC's. I would like Firefox to start on login and open in full screen mode, with all toolbars disabled. Is this possible? and if so how do I go about doing this?

    If you close Firefox 4 while in full screen mode then the browser should start in full screen mode the next time. That setting is stored in localstore.rdf in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder].
    If you want to prevent toolbars from opening if you hover to the top then hide the full-screen-toggler with code in userChrome.css
    Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/userChrome.css
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Editing_configuration
    * ChromEdit Plus: http://webdesigns.ms11.net/chromeditp.html
    <pre><nowiki>@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */
    #fullscr-toggler { display:none !important; }
    </nowiki></pre>

  • Sending PDF files that will open exclusively in "full screen mode"

    Flash has this capability with Projector's files. I wonder if Acrobat has the same capability. I've tried unsuccessfully.

    If you embed a document script with the following code, the file will open in full-screen mode:
    app.fs.isFullScreen = true;
    However, the user will always be able to switch back to the regular viewing mode, and it will probably not work if the file is opened in a browser.
    Also, it won't work if JavaScript is turned off.
