I was researching information for a class and I clicked on a website that said that all of my files had been encrypted. A popup appeared and asked if I wanted to leave the page but when I tried to, it would let me. I had to force quit Safari in order to do so. How do I know if this is a real problem or not?

It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
3. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. From the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize.

You can click on accept or buy ,which ever option you see on that dialog box.It will prompt you to type in your Adobe Credentials.You can license it by doing the same.
If it still doesn't work ,follow these steps and see how it goes .
Delete all the files from following folders:
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate and check.

- Charge the iPod for half an hour. Then reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- if still not working, connect to your computer. If iTunes sees the iPod, restore the iPod.
- If still problem, place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore the iPod. For recovery mod see:

I have an annoying message that pops up saying that I have an unauthorised attempt to change the settings, and asks if I want to keep the current settings or accept the changes.

Even if I was computer literate enough to know the difference, it does not tell me what the changes are, or more iomportantly, where they have come from. I always answer, Yes, I am happy with my current settings, and ignore the No, please make the changes, but this message box keeps on presenting every time I open Firefox. I have tried right-clicking on different places on the message box, to try and find a way of removing it.. Can anyone tell me how I might remove this messgae?

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
* Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
* "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).

How can i get my credit card info to save? it says its saved and then as soon as i leave the page it says i have to provide credit card info?

every time i save my credit card info in my account on ITunes, it shows as saved and as soon as I go to buy something, it says I have no credit card on file and starts over again.

I don't mind having my card info on there but now I can't download anything and it's frustrating. All it ask for is the card security number and when I put it in it says it's invalid. Disconnect from the internet after you have reinstalled the app.
Start the app with data and wifi turned off.
This could help.
I am assuming it updates your data from the cloud.
There must be also be an option to reste the settings.
Or contact the programmer.

Is it possible to set up network locations in such a way that other preferences also get set? Specifically, I usually have my Software Updates set to download in the background, but when I am using my iPhone's Personal Hotspot I'd like to disable this.

Or indeed is some other way possible, such as using an Applescript to detect when I am using my personal hotspot on my (limited data package!) 3g iPhone (via wi-fi or USB etc) and then switch off the automatic downloads until I revert back to my regular connection?

How do I import playlists from my old computer to my new computer. I followed the instructions to export the playlists, but when I tried to import on the new computer the files were nowhere to be found?

I saved my playlists on my new computer as per the instructions in iTunes help. Then I tried to import the playlists on my new computer but the files were nowhere to be found. Found the correct directory, but not there. my computers are connected on a network, so I don't know what I am doing wrong? Anyone have any ideas?

A window opened indicating that many of the photos had tags, and asking if I wanted to add the tags. I said yes, and the process began. When it reached 60% a window opened indicating that "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working", with the only option being to "Close program."
I've since tried to open organizer several times, but it goes immediately to "Elements 13 Organizer has stopped working". I was able to open Editor, and tried opening Organizer from Editor, but encountered the same problem.
FYI, I have an open case (#0214505556), but have not received the help I need.
