I 'owe iTunes money for purchases' but it won't let me pay it...

I tried to buy a song but it said I owe money. For some reason it didn't successfully take it out of my PayPal account. I am trying to pay iTunes the money I owe but it says 'add new Credit Card or Debit Card' and my PayPal card is the only card I have. I have no other Visa or MasterCard at all, just PayPal. How can I just pay with my PayPal account and how come it isn't letting me?

FYI to anyone reading this thread, that disclaimer about adding a debit card or bank account before selecting Paypal appears nowhere when setting up an iTunes Store account for the first time. Instead, the PayPal login is rejected with the generic error message "Error Detected This recipient requires that you have a valid funding source from United States in order to complete this transaction."
There is a "Goto Paypal" button below this, but clicking on this results in another Paypal login prompt; this one works with the same userid and password information but does nothing more than open a window on the user's account info. There is no option to "Return to iTunes" and nothing happens until the user logs out of Paypal. A acknowledgment message appears but there is no return to iTunes in the browser.
Meanwhile, the iTunes application is still displaying the "Review your payment information" window with Paypal selected. Unless a different option is selected, the above process is repeated.
This happens in Windows XP Pro SP3 with both FireFox 3 and Internet Explorer 7.
It would be really helpful to new iTunes members if Apple would add the debit card/bank account disclaimer somewhere in the signup process.

If you tap on your account id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores you should be able to view your account info (after you've typed in your password) and you should get a payment details option. Or you can do it via the Store > View My Apple ID drop-down menu option on your computer's iTunes

If you have not done so already, delete the movie from your iTunes library and then try to download it again to see if it plays again. If that does not resolve the issue, then report it to the iTunes Store.

Upgraded to Yosemite and cant open iPhoto! Saw an update for app but it won't let me; says not available for this AppleID because it was bought by a diff user or item was refunded. Not so. What now?

Adobe Reader document was enabled for editing but now won't let me edit

I'm hoping someone can help me solve this issue. I have Adobe Reader 9.1 and have been editing a PDF that was enabled for commenting and
text edits by another party. However, when I went to open the PDF tonight, I got a message telling me "The document enabled extended features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available" and I can no longer use sticky note and text editing tools. Does anyone know how to fix this?

My husband and I share an email address. He now wishes to have an itunes ie Apple account, but it won't let him as there is already an account with that email address- yes, of course, it's ME. How can we resolve this?

However, when he tries to set up an account, he repeatedly gets told the user name - ie our email address, is already taken. And then his attempt fails. SO surely two people with the same email address can have seperate apple accounts?

Trying to get Spotify student discount, but it won't let me pay.

I've been trying to get the student discount for premium. I've already validated that I am a student at a university. But every time I put in my payment information, it gives me the error: Oops, seems your card or payment provider is having a bad day. Don't worry, no money has been charged. Try again or use another payment method. I know that my card is working because I've been using it to purchase other things online. It's just not working with Spotify.

What exactly happens when you try to buy something ? If you've already removed the card from your account then iTunes shouldn't be asking for any details about it.
If you log into into your account is the card still shown . On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on your phone then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud. With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated. There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.
