I own several cd's with Old Time Radio shows in MP3 format

There are hundreds of shows on each disk. I want to import (if that is the correct term) to itunes. If I click import, I seem to be able to import them one at a time. I want to do them all at once or many at a time. I have tried everything I can think of to select them all without success.
Any gurus out there?
Thanks.
Steve

Copy the MP3 files from the CD to wherever you want them to be on your hard drive, using drag and drop in Windows. Then remove the CD from the drive (to avoid any confusion). Then use the iTunes command File > Add Folder to Library to get the shows added to your iTunes Library.

    Hi Craig
Unfortunately, in your case, there isn't really a way to separate them as far as I can think.
You could try restoring from a backup, and choosing an older backup perhaps

  • New Airport Extreme with old Time Capsule?

I just bought a new 802.11ac Airport Extreme to increase the speed and range of my home network.  My network currently runs on an 802.11g Time Capsule.  I would like to continue to back up to the old Time Capsule.  Should I just set up the old Time Capsule with wireless off in bridge mode or should I place the Time Capsule somewhere else in the house strategically, leaving wireless on, to improve range?  Someone told me adding a G-speed access point or client to the network would slow things down.
Thank you SO much for the help; I'm sort of a wireless networking dummie.

I assume you meant to say 802.11n Time Capsule. There are no 802.11g models.

You can do either. If you hare happy with the coverage of the 802.11ac AirPort Extreme, then I would recommend that you go with your first idea. I would connect the Time Capsule directly to the new Extreme using an Ethernet cable, disable its wireless and reconfigure it as a bridge.

  • Privilege problem with old Time Machine backup

There are all kinds of posts about privilage problems, but I can't find my answer.  I did a clean install of Snow Leopard, and now I want to only drag my iTunes library and iPad backup files from my time machine backup onto the computer.  I can access all the files on the backup drive, including MobileSync and my iTunes folder, but when I try to pull them off the drive I get the terrible message "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access “MobileSync”."  The sharing & permissions for the folder say "read & write" for my user, and the "Locked" box isn't checked in the Get Info window.  When I click on the settings gear in the Sharing & Permissions window, the "Make me the owner" option is grayed out even after I unlock the options.  I tried resolution for issue 1 here.  And I also tried those terminal commands to no avail.  When I access Time Machine from the dock, all the backups prior to my reinstall are listed, but I can't access them.  Anyone have any other ideas?  This is extremely frustrating.  Note: I am able to copy over files from the backups created after I reinstalled Snow Leopard.
    sudo chflags 0 /Volumes/Volumename
    sudo chown 0:80 /Volumes/Volumename
    sudo chmod 775 /Volumes/Volumename
    sudo chmod -N /Volumes/Volumename

I personally think that Time Machine is a magical process run by unicorns.
I just moved from a MacBook Pro to a brand spanking new iMac 27". My iPad just does everything that I need a laptop to do, and an iMac is so much more powerful than a MBP.
Anyways, I setup my new iMac with the MBP Time Machine backup, as I usually do with new Macs. As I was going to sell my MBP, I was just going to use my 3TB Time Machine drive on my new iMac, thinking that I'd lose 9 months of backups, as I usually do with a new Mac. Except, apparently with Mountain Lion, the unicorns and wizards have decided that the old Time Machine backups are now transferred to the new iMac. So, even though my iMac is only 15 days old, it shows 9 months of backups. Which was a lifesaver, because an important photo got corrupted in the restore process, and I found it in the Wayback Machine.
    Cool stuff.

  • New Mac with old Time Machine

I have a new dual quad-core with SLeopard. I have been using a 1TB WD external as a time machine on my old Dual-core with Leopard. What do I do to move the WD time machine to the new Mac? Will it just start backing up the new data or do I have to wipe the WD and start over?

There's a new feature in Snow Leopard. When your first backup starts (not when you select the drive for use with Time Machine, oddly enough), you'll get a prompt asking what to do.

  • Merge my new MBPr data with old time machine back up

Got a new Macbook Pro retina, can I merge my old data (from my old imac using time machine ) with my new macbook retina data without loosing data from my MBPr?
I used my MBPr during holidays without having the opportunity to restore my backup from my old imac and now I have information/data I do not want to loose. If I just restore my back up from time machine (of my old imac) won't I loose any new information on my MBPr that I have not backed up (e.g iphoto or imovie data) ?
PS: I havent yet backed up my MBPr as I am afraid of overriding my old imacs back up

Put all of your data from your 'old' user into your Shared folder - accessible by any user. Then you can copy it into your new user folder(s) and delete the old user if you wish.
    Good luck,

  • Problem with Date / Time Title - Showing Inacurate Information

I use iMovie to make videos for my job. The videos need to have an accurate running time and date displayed on them. I use the "Date/Time" Title option and the running time and date appear on the video. BUT- there is a problem. The time is wrong.
When I import a video clip (from my Panasonic HDC-TM80) into iMovie, I can see the "time and date created" as well as the "length" of the video clip. The time and date created shows the time and date of when the clip ENDS. When I overlay the "Date/Time" Title, it starts the time (at the beginning of the clip) from the created time (which is actually the end).
    Example:
Clip Created (end of clip): 3/23/11 10:30:00am
Length of clip: 12 min. 35 sec.
The actual Date/Time Title should show 10:17:25am at the beginning and runs through 10:30:00am (the end).
But instead it shows 10:30:00am at the beginning and runs through 10:42:35am. This obviously results in a 12 min. 35 sec. inaccuracy.
Is this a problem with the software? Is there a way to contact someone to alert them of this problem? Or am I missing something simple?
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
-as a quick fix, I adjusted the time and date on the video clips so that it would show the correct info, but I'm usually working with several clips at a time and it is laborious to change each one.

I don't have an answer but was wondering how you like the TM80? Except for the date/time issue, is it compatible with iMovie'11?
    Thanks!

  • Dealing with old AVI files - what is best format for 'master' storage.

I kept a lot of original AVI footage from the original DV Tapes. I see these as the MASTER material.
I also have the same footage on MPG.
My new Smart TV will link to ny network and can see the AVI files but not play them.
It seems i need to convert them to a Divx format of AVI in order to play these files...
    Question is therefore 2 fold.
1 - I want store/keep and have as 'masters' the highest quality of the orginal recordings. So is the best 'original',  the orignal DV Tape AVI files or would editing these via CS6 and outputing an MPG or MP4 format be as good as the 'original'.
Despite 15 years messing about with digital editing, i remain baffled by what constitutes 'ORIGINAL FORMAT'.
2 - How can I convert the AVI files from current set up to a Divx Codec that my SMART TV will recognise and play.  WIll CS6 do this or Encoder ?  I cant see an option.
I've tried all AVI outputs and the SmartTV cannot read any of them.
    Regards
    Kev.

About 4 years ago I transferred all my old 8/Hi8/DV tapes onto my PC exactly the same as you have done.
The AVI is a standard introduced by Microsoft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio_Video_Interleave gives the detail and history
Smart TV's in 2012 could play AVI's or at least the youtube demo I just watched did so you may want to check the manual to find out precisely what your TV will play
Keep the originals as they are, do nothing to them.
Editing and output to whatever the TV can play, MPG and MP4 should be OK and as future proof as possible.
Try exporting a short say 1 minute of mixed footage to MPG and MP4 and view these, I did just this with my network and Sony TV and they streamed great, then I edited all that old footage to MPG and MP4 (I saved the same movie to both formats just in case).
Do remember that your AVI's will be SD and these will be upscaled by your TV to fill the HD screen
Divx is great but quite lossy and there has been a myrad of types over the years so future proofing may be an issue.
    I cannot advise on CS6 as I use CS5.5.
Finally before you ask.......edit SD AVI's export movies to DVD's and playing back via a good quality upscaling Bluray player will probably give the best HD results, far better than thinking about software upscaling your AVI's to HD

  • Events with specific time not showing on my ipad or iPhone... only on my iMAC... all day events show up

When I look at my icloud calendar on my MAC, everything is there... when I go to my iPhone or iPad... the timed events are missing.  The all day events do show up?   HELP?

Duplicates are due to syncing both with iCloud AND with iTunes.  Turn off calendar syncing in iTunes.
I don't know what you mean by "removed some from my mibile devices".  Are you sayig some calendars are gone on some devices that have been registered with iCloud?

  • How do *you* handle Old Time Radio (OTR) shows in iTunes?

I collect OTR shows, free from Internet Archive.
    1. If you do as well
    2. How do you put them into iTunes? As music or possibly audiobooks?
    3. How do you signify it is OTR.
Currently I have them as Music, with "OTR" in the Genre list. But that really is not a genre and was hoping to get sone better ideas.

It's up to you, though you cannot edit the catagories list and won't be able to have OTR up next to music, audiobooks, and movies.  The few plays I have I separate into genres.  They aren't an audiobooks to me since they are plays, usually not a reading of the original book itself.

  • I cant listen to "The Deep End with Nick Michaels"radio show

No sure what to put in here.
The site loads and the player starts but no sound.
I can listen to other on line stations but I really kind of like this on.
I looked through the questions others have asked with similar problems and I downloaded and installed the wpm Firefox plugin but that didn't help.
Thanks for any and all suggestions

Which plugin does that player use?
You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • How do I delete radio shows from iTunes and my iPod at the same time?

I have a lot of old time radio shows on my iPod. First, I copy them from iTunes to listen to on my iPod. When I am done, I want to delete BOTH of them at the same time. I am trying to avoid having to search for both because, for some reason, I cannot search both the iTunes and the iPod content at the same time. I obviously do not want them synced. In the previous version of iTunes, I was able to do with a key command. Now, I cannot figure out how to do it. ( I really wish there was a way I could color each selection so that I can find which ones I copied to the iPod easily. You know, just like how it's done in the operating system, where we can add the color label.)
Anyway, is there a way to do what I want, or am I stuck with searching separately, and then deleting them separately? Laborious indeed. Oh, yes, the duplicate function doesn't work here because you can't search both the iPod and iTunes at the same time.
Thanks in advance to all you smartie-pants out there.

when you purchas e a tv show from the itunes music store and then sync it to the ipod. there will appear a new name in th evideo subsection of videos on the ipod called tv shows thats where they will be and where you can watch the,.

  • Old radio shows

I have a lot (over 1800) of old time radio shows that I have downloaded and put into various playlist in my iTunes 6 program. My problem is that they are not put into the playlist according to date. In the Album section, that's where I put the date the program was originally aired the date is in this form mm/dd/yy. I want to make them all in this form yy/dd/mm. If I highlight and click on the Album header the programs will reverse but the problem is the months are first so it winds up being either 1-12 or 12-1, but the years are all scattered. How can I make iTunes change all of my playlist like I want them yy/dd/mm? Is it possible? Any suggestions ?

  • Want to move an old time machine backup

I'm trying to backup an old drive before it fails.
It has a folder on it with old time machine backups.
My system won't allow me to move that folder.
I get the message "The backup can't be copied because the backup volume doesn't have ownership enabled."
How do I enable ownership or force that file to be backed up?
    Thanks.

Now I'm stuck with these files taking up space on a drive and no way to get rid of them without wiping the drive.  Which is what I'll have to do.
Launch the Terminal app, in the window that pops up, copy & paste in this snippet, follow by adding a space, and then dragging one of those files into the window. Hit the return key and at the Password: prompt, carefully enter your admin password, and hit the return key:
    sudo rm
so it looks something like this:
    sudo rm /Users/username/Desktop/"name of file"
If that works, then collect the others into a folder and repeat, but use this as the leading part:
    sudo rm -R
so it looks something like this:
sudo rm -R /Users/username/Desktop/"name of folder"

I have an issue with quick time not showing up on a website I frequent. All I see, is the "Q". It will not load the audio. The site in question is Vicfirth dot com. This is not a solicitation. I'm just confused if it is my computer or the web site.
