I Pad-4.2-attachment not opening

I recently updated my ipad to OS to 4.2, post the update I can open old attachments which are in the inbox, however I cant open any new attachments, when i press on the mail attachment, I get the following message"mail cannot open this attachment". Please could you help

Now opening the Attachment List:
Attachment List is displayed:
Selecting the line item and displaying the attachment by Pressing Display Button:
Word Document Not opening.
But In ECC
Attached word document is opened:

I'm not sure this is similar to your problem but I had an issue once with opening word documents from the UWL and I think that the problem was that it was opened via ITS and ITS didn't not open word documents. try to set the links to open in winGUI and maybe than they will work.
In the portal go to:
Content Administration->Portal Content->Portal Users->Standard Portal Users->Universal Worklist->UWL - Launch SAP Transaction
Under property category choose 'content - transaction' and set 'SAP GUI Type' to 'SAP GUI for Windows'.

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if it that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds after which the Apple logo will hopefully appear and it will boot up.
If that doesn’t fix it then have you got a different cable, and possibly charger, that you could try ?

Numbers email attachment not opening correctly

A Numbers spreadsheet emailed to me by a friend from an iMac does not open with the correct font colors on items that she has made changes in a later version. They continue to be the previous version even though they have an updated document name. Thanks in advance for any input.

Move the email containing the attachment to any folder or subfolder. Works like a charm at that point. Very puzzeling why it would function that way. This is hopefully a temporary situation...

It asks me if I want to save in I photo but when I do it's just a black box, I don't have keynote or PowerPoint, think i might need Microsoft office but not paying £90 for one attachment lol, I've sent a request to see if they can resend in apple format? :-)
It opens ok on I pad but don't have wi fi set up on printer, that seemed like another complicated job lol!

I am sending the PDF attachment through email when i get the mail and opening the attachment the PDF says "A drawing error occurred'. Can any one tell me how to solve this problem.
i am doing otf to pdf conversion and the populate all the field related to the email.
Is there any specific solution for this error.

any ideas..I click on the attachment but it just sits there at 0% download

Each time I send photos using Mail from iPhoto '09 using email button in iPhoto to someone who has PC running Windows XP they cannot see the images. They are there but with just a little icon. Can anyone tell me please what they should do to see the images? Thank you

99% of the time this is a problem at the other end, usually folks who don't know how to work their email on Windows.
To make it 99.95% idiot proof, try send Plain Text emails. After you create the email and the New Message Window opens in Mail, simply use the Format Menu to to select 'Make Plain text'.

I then tried wiping the original software from the computer and re-downloading from scratch. Each time I tried the download failed with a message saying “Service “Apple Mobile Device” failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services” At this stage, the only way forward was to “abort” the download. This I have done now four times and the same thing happens. When I did finally manage to get an i-Tunes shortcut on my desktop, the program wouldn’t open saying: “i-Tunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install i-Tunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)” Any ideas to resolve this?

Open Acrobat. Use the click-path Edit - Preferences - select the Category "Email Accounts". In the dialog there is the "Add Account" drop-down. Select "Add Other". The "Add Webmail Account" dialog presents. You'll fill out the dialog's fields with Outlook.com settings. (don't forget the "Advance Settings" button)
From a look-see on the web it appears that the following are the needed settings. BUT, you'll be wanting to validate.
The Outlook.com SMTP server settings for sending outgoing messages from an email program on desktop, cell phone or mobile device are:

MS Excel document as attachment to a PDF document does not open with a hot spot/link in the PDF

Hi, I have attached an excel file to a pdf document. I need to open this document in a new window by clicking an icon/hotspot in the pdf document to which it it attached.
I am using the Link Tool to create a hot spot around the icon in the pdf. In the next window I am using the Go to Page view option, opening the attachment to its first page and clicking the "set link" button.
For some reason, clicking the hotspot does not open the excel document as it does another pdf document.
Need help resolving this issue with attached documents.

Select a particular download file. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. In the Open With section choose the desired default application from the dropdown menu then click on the Change All button.
For .dmg files use DiskImageMounter (System/Library/CoreServices/ folder.)
For .zip files use Archiver - same folder as above - or download TheArchiver - MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.

The old computer is a 2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
The new one is a 2.3 GHz intel core i7
In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.)

PDF e-mail attachment will not open after FF update

FF 31 and/or 32
Outlook or GroupWise fat client
PDF attachments
After FF updated PDF's were re-associated with FF not the installed PDF program. Used Windows to re associate PDF's to PDF program. No problem, all PDF's open in PDF program UNLESS the PDF is an attachment in an e-mail.
Open e-mail fat client (doesn't matter the client) try and open the PDF and user gets message stating there is no program associated with attachment. Yet, all PDF's still open with correct PDF program as long as they are not in the e-mail. Now here's the really weird part.....
If there are two or more PDF's attachments in the same e-mail the first one will not open but the second, thirds, etc attached PDF's will open with the correct PDF program.
The only temporary solution I have found is to uninstall FF, re-install it and for a 1/2 day the issue goes away. I have not figured out the trigger that resets the issue.
FF is my go-to browser, but since v 31 this has been happening and if it keeps up, I'm switching to Chrome.
Come on Tech Support, help us out with this issue.

Sorry you're having this problem. I think it was previously reported only by Windows XP users.
When you reinstall, were you making Firefox your default browser? Some users have reported that ''not'' making Firefox the default browser was an effective workaround.
However, you may have success with this approach, suggested by a user in another thread, which appears to more thoroughly update the Windows registry:
# Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat
# Edit->Preferences
# In the Categories column click 'General'
# Near the bottom of the page click the button marked 'Select Default PDF Handler'
# In the dialog, select 'Adobe Reader XI' (or Adobe Acrobat, as the case may be) and click 'Apply'
# A Windows Configuration screen will appear. Allow it to do its stuff (takes a few minutes), then restart your computer when prompted.
Does that resolve the issue for you?
