The I pad mini with retina display closes apps randomly
The I pad mini with retina display closes the apps randomly especially when opening the clock and while searching in safari
Hello Mayar23,
Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with apps quitting unexpectedly.
The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching all the applications on your iPad:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
You can find the full article here:
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting all the apps, I recommend restarting your iPad and then resetting if it's still not working:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You can find the full article here:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, the last thing I recommend is backing up and restoring your iPad:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Best,

Why are the apps in the I pad mini with retina display closing randomly
The I pad mini with retina display closes apps randomly . It's annoying me . Does any one has any solution ?
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Also make sure your iPad has plenty of free space for the iOS to run efficiently. With iOS 7 it is recommended that you have 15-20% of the storage space on the device free. For a 16 GB device that is 2.4-3.2 GB free. For a 32 GB device that is 4.8-6.4 GB free. For a 64 GB device that is 9.6-12.8 GB free. -

I want to change my16giga byte ipad mini with retina display to the 32giga one because i think its capacity is insufficient. So could i change to 32giga by giving an extra charge. I bought 16giga ipad mini on thanksgivingday, maybe 30. November
If bought directly from an Apple Retail store or Apple Online store, and is still within the 14 day return period Apple Offers you can take it back and get a full refund which you can then use towards buying the other version.
If its already past the 14 day period then you won't be able to return it for a refund no.
If you did not buy it from an Apple Retail store or Apple Online Store you will have to consult with the store you bought it from about their return policies. -
Which should I buy, the iPad mini with retina display or the iPad Air?
I Was thinking of buying an iPad but I'm not to sure which one to buy. They both have good reviews and they both look good but from anybody else's point of view which one would be better to buy?
help?
thankyou.Depends upon what you will be using it for. If you expect to be doing a lot of on-screen typing then the larger iPad with the larger screen/keyboard may be better, if one of the main uses will be as an ebook reader then the smaller-lighter Mini might be better. I don't know what country that you are in but in the US the Mini is $100 cheaper, which could be used for a cases, apps, music etc
Do you have a local store that has both in so that you can try both ? -

What is better for college? An iPad air or an iPad mini with retina display?
I'm currently a junior in high school and I'll be graduating in the summer of 2015. My parents, well mostly dad, are planning on buying me the iPad air with 128 GB of memory. I got curious and went to look at the price and compare models and I saw that the iPad mini with retina display was the same as the iPad air, the only difference is the size. Since I saw that it was cheaper I was thinking on telling my parents to buy me that instead of the iPad air because it is more costy and my family isn't really the rich kind of people. I will be only using the iPad for school and nothing else since I have my iPod to play games on and stuff so it will only be used for purely educational purposes. Plus I've been hearing around that the iPad air is not that great and stuff because it has a bigger screen and such. Personally for me, I do not care about the screen size I just care about the price for my parents' sake because I don't like it when they have to spend a lot of money. So can you please help me decide on which to get and why it would be better than the other? Please and thank you.

Unless you are going to store many thousands of high resolution photos and LOTs of movies or videos, you don't need a 128GB storage. Save some $ and get a smaller capacity.

I bought a new iPad Mini with Retina Display and the only charger that seems to work is the one it came with. Any other lightning chargers I have bought (including a 30 pin to 8 pin connector) won't charge. Not only is it annoying to have a 3ft cable to charge, but it's annoying to have only one cord.
Does anyone know why the other chargers won't work? The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. My iPad Mini with retina display suddenly will not connect to the Internet. It shows full wifi bars, yet no web pages will load. My Internet is working with all other apple devices in my house. The iPad also no longer works with celluar data. I'm not sure what has happened. It was working fine a few hours ago. I have tried resetting it, ive restarted my browser etc. I tried to erase all data from my Ipad but I can't do that because it needs to sign into my Apple ID and use the Internet!
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I am planning to purchase the new iPad Mini with Retina Display when it comes out this month. I am curious to know whether it will fit into the older iPad Mini cases that are currently available. I wasn't sure whether I should go ahead and buy a case, or if I should wait due to a size difference. Thanks!

The old iPad mini case will fit new iPad mini. However, the new iPad mini has 2 microphones and the 2nd microphone located on the back. (old iPad mini only had 1 microphone). That means, the old case will cover the 2nd microphone.
The 'old' case will cover the rear microphone, but the new and currently sold iPad mini smart case has the cutout for the rear microphone. It can clearly be seen on mini Smart Case photo.
I had a black mini SmartCase on order at the time I posted the above. Although my mini-retina won't arrive for a couple of weeks the case arrived today. I has the cutout for the rear microphone just as shown in the images on the Apple Store. -
I'm trying to find a good sleeve for my new Ipad mini (with retina display), but keep coming across two options.
1) Sleeve for iPad mini with retina display
2) Sleeve for iPad mini
Is there a difference in size? I'm mainly asking as I've found one I would like, but it doesn't mention the retina display..
Hope someone out there has an answer to my question.
Thanks,
KatThere is a .3mm difference in depth.

Where is the light sensor on the iPad mini with retina display?
Recently I purchased an iPad mini with retina display. I purchased a third party case and the brightness doesn't seem to change with the case on which leads me to believe that the case is covering a sensor. Please can someone tell me where the sensor is?
I haven't been able to find out with a Google search, so the best thing you can do is to take it out of the case and cover any holes you see in the body of the device to see which one it is.
