trying to turn on my ipod touch it turns on in zoom can't enter pass code the lettering is so large i can barely get to the slider and to shut it down tried shuting down hooking to my computer no luck

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

After you do what wjosten said, to disable zoom:
Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom > OFF

I am trying to update my profile picture and cover photo and Facebook advises to crop the area of the photo you want and select the area you want by dragging the area of photo , but every time I touch the screen it just zooms the whole page in and out and I can't turn it off :-(

If your email account offers a webmail access, I suggest checking the webmail - log in to your account using the webmail access, and I predict you will see all those "unread" emails there and can dispose of them from there.
This happens because the iPhone that went bad, when reading those emails, did not remove them from your email provider's servier.

Turn on the wifi in settings. You should see a list of wi-fi connections in the area. If you see a padlock icon beside the signal, then it is password protected. Otherwise, its a public hotspot and you should be able to join by tapping the network name.

Backing up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media. You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else. Leave it in the rice for at least a day and change the rice every other day or so. The rice and iPod should be in a sealed container.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $149. They do not fix yours.

Look in your Applications folder. If your system behaved as expected, you should have an iMovie 9.0 folder in your Applications folder. Apple moved the old version there as even they suspected the new versions was a train wreck.

My headphone jack broke inside my iPod touch 5th generation and there is no way of getting it out.

Do you have any tips on how I can get it out? Is there any repair sites that I can send it to? I really need help and this is my favorite ipod and I don't have the money to get a new one.

If home sharing isn't enabled on the Apple TV, you will need the aluminium remote that came with it to do so.

Generally speaking, the iPad backup process is a disaster recovery process, not an archive process. Typically, when creating a new backup, the old one is erased.
If you go to iTunes' Preferences (under the leftmost heading in iTunes' menu on your computer) and then choose "Devices", do you see the specific backup you want to restore listed there? If so, you can restore it. If not, I don't believe you can.
