I pad very slow
I have e original iPad and it is getting very slow
Try a couple of basic troubleshooting steps.
Close all apps and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can also reset the iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I have a late 2009 iMac (11,1) running10.10.1. It is very slow (5 to 35 seconds) connecting to my Apple trackpad whether I am logged in when I put the iMac to sleep or whether no one is logged in. I was found I pad Air is not that user friendly than I pad 4 even I pad 2, as I was a TaoBao (www.taobao.com) fans and every time when I get in their link, I pad Air cannot show all the pictures on the screen and very slow. You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. My Macbook pro is acting Crazy....the Cursor just keeps on jumping everywhere and not responding when I use the trackpad....Even when it does respond it is very slow...I thought it was the trackpad acting up but realized it wasnt when i plugged in a mouse and it still did the same thing...this happened one other time and shortly after my computer froze...I had to restart for it to work but restarting dosent help this time...can someone please help?...Is this a Virus?

As to what it might be, that's hard to say. You should try some basic troubleshooting... Repair the hard drive with disk utility. Boot in safe mode and see if it happens then, log in to a different user account and see if it happens there, reboot from another system and see if it happens.
Apparently some people have had this kind of problem caused by swelling batteries that push on the underside of the trackpad and cause all kinds of strange problems. Is your machine's underside deformed at all?

After downloading the new 7.0.2 to my i-pad2 the onscreen keyboard is responding very slow. I have to wait for several seconds for it to show up on the screen after touching any key.

Problem description:
My computer is running very slow ever since I switched to Yosemite. I get the multicolored wheel just opening my browser at times and waiting for a page to open, or an application. Any ideas other than rebooting my computer to get the problem to alleviate for a few days?

Time Capsule / Time Machine very very slow
I'v been having problems with very slow backups using a Time Machine / Time Capsule combo and I've been looking around this forum and the web in order to figure out what it is, but I couldn't find any specifics relating to my situation. Both the preparation and the backing up stages are both very slow.
I hadn't used Time Machine since before Christmas as it become unreliable after updating to Yosemite but thought I'd try and get backups running again. It took about 16 hours to complete it's first backup of 17gb, then today's backup of 475.9mb took 4 hours to prepare and it's only backed up 167.7mb as I write this.
Can anyone with a good technical understanding of OS X, Time Capsule & Time Machine backups tell me what the problem is by looking at the console output below?

There is an 8 hour gap between this message and the one before it.
This message is related to the use of encryption. If you are still getting it even after you have turned encryption off then something is still hanging around. And it is a big problem.
The previous log entry that it may also be the concern is

So it is doing a full verify of the backup.. that is extremely time consuming over wireless. It takes much longer to verify than to do the backup. That is because of the long gap since the last backup. When you wait so long it is sometimes better to simply start over.
It is essential when this happens to be using ethernet with wireless turned off.
Make sure IPv6 is set correctly to link-local only in the ethernet settings of the computer.
Why your latest one is so slow is again a Yosemite bug mystery.
However I would like you to test actual network speed copying files to the TC.
Stop the present backup.. if it is still running. Then via finder simply copy a file to the TC hard disk.. a single very large file say 100-1000MB and give me a network speed using activity monitor.
Yosemite has real network issues on top of real TM issues.
Test by doing a TM backup to a USB drive plugged into the computer. If this is dramatically faster the issue is mostly network rather than TM.
If it still fails to backup in reasonable time periods.. and for people having big issues.. I recommend give up on TM until apple have managed to patch the bugs. Use an alternative like Carbon Copy Cloner.. I would do that even if TM does work if you want a backup you can trust. -
ACR 7.1 - very slow on Mac mini

I'm running the trial version of CS6 on a new Mac mini.
I like the features in ACR 7.1 but I'm finding it very slow.
Dragging the Temperature slider takes about 5 seconds before the image updates. Is this normal?
This is with just one Nikon D700 Nef open in ACR, and no other apps running. I've already worked the file up, making adjustments to lens correction, sharpening, noise reduction, and using a couple of adjustment brushes.
If I progressively switch these settings off, the Temperature slider gradually goes back to being reasonably responsive. But I'd like to be able to fine tune the colour after doing these other adjustments.
Any way I can speed it up?

Mountain Lion 10.8.1My dedicated CS6/ACR 7.x system is substantially more underpowered than your Mac Mini, yet I see no such lag in ACR. Dragging the Temperature adjustment slider is practically real-time, with the preview refreshing in a fraction of a second that I can barely see and have no way of measuring.
I'm now running ACR 7.2RC1, but I don't remember seeing a lag in ACR 7.1 either.
My main working machine is a Power Mac (PPC) G5 Quad with 16 GB of RAM, on which 11.0.2 is the last version of Photoshop to run, so I have the Mac-Intel system described below just to run ACR 7.x under Photoshop 13.0.1. I convert my raw files in ACR7.x open them in Ps 13.0.x and save them via Ethernet to an external HD connected to the G5 Quad for further processing in CS4. The Mac-Intel is used for no other purpose and the only other application I occasionally run on said Mac-Intel is TextEdit.
2007, 2GHz MacBook 2,1, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM (can use 3 GB), 160 GB internal boot disk, dedicated FireWire400 external HD for Ps scratch disk, external Time Machine HD. Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
I literally rescued this MacBook from the trash, where it had landed when my wife was told by local Apple Macgenius staff that it was beyond repair, when in reality all that was wrong with it was a bulging battery exerting upward pressure on the track pad and keyboard. That was easy to replace for $20 or so through Amazon.com.
So, from where I sit, either you have a machine-specific problem somewhere, or the culprit in your issue is Mountain Poop. -

Many ThanksYour hard disk is failing and requires replacement. Replacement is not terribly expensive and can be performed by someone sufficiently adept with computer repair. If that's not you, an Apple Store can perform the replacement.
Back up your data ASAP. -
Time Machine Very Slow (321 Days) Please Help!
Hi all, I've got a 2012 MBP and have had problems with TM since day one.
I'm running all the latest software with a brand new Time Capsule and it states that it will take over 300 days to back up.
I originally used a NAS and TM was very very slow along with having to reformat and start again every few weeks so I gave in and got a TC thinking it would solve my problems but it's returned again.
I've tried reformatting, disabling spotlight, wired and wireless connections, different hard drives and still the problem persists. Occasionally it also fails to find the backup disk so I have to reformat and start again.
It's driving me absolutely insane because despite messing and messing, trying different solutions the problem always seems to return at random. It will work great for a week or 2 then it's back to square one.
Can someone please restore my sanity and help?To update, I got up this morning and it was still stating some 22 days after copying a few gb in 18 hours so I restarted (again). TM then stated it couldn't find the back up disk so I again pointed it to the right disk and it now appears to be stuck again after doing over a gb in a minute or two.

Cisco Aironet 1200 wireless network very slow
I have a simple wireless network set up, 2 - Cisco Aironet 1200 AIR-AP1220B-A-K9 wireless access points with 2 dBi Diversity Omni directional Ceiling Mount Antennas. They are the only devices connected to a Multitech Routfinder router, the WAN side the router is connected to a dedicated DSL connection. They are powered by AIR-PWRINJ3 power injectors. The WAP get the IP address from the DHCP in the router.
When connecting to the wireless network it runs very very slow, the signal strength is excellent and the connection speed is 54 mbps. But when opening a web browser it takes for ever to load a simple page like msn.com. If I connect the notebook directly to the router it runs very fast. We have tested with several notebooks and have the same problem. When I view the available wireless networks in range the only two that show up are the two Cisco 1200 WAP.
I have done the following with no improvement:
Change the channels from auto to 6 on one and 11 on the other.
Reset to factory defaults.
Update the firmware to c1200-k9w7-tar.123-7.JA2.tar
Replace the 802.11b radios with 802.11g radios AIR-MP21G-A-K9.
Disable the Aironet extensions.

The documentation say not to switch from auto to full duplex or half duplex when using inline power, well I think it says the AP may reboot. I may have tried half duplex before I upgraded the firmware.
While upgrading I disconnected the AP, used a patch cord to connect it to the router and pluged the power directly into it to make sure the wiring to the AP was not the problem and it did the same thing.
However, when trying to upgrade the firmware it took ~ 45 minuets to upload the image and filed a couple of times retrying. I connected the AP to the notebook directly with a crossover cable and it uploaded in about 45 seconds.
That got me to thinking that there may be a problem with the router so I have replaced it with a Linksys.
In the mean time the DSL went down yesterday so I have not been able to test the new setup.

Trying to resore iPad and keeps freezing up
