I phone 4s email outgoing email password change

I have an iphone 4s. I changed my email password today. I updated my password under settings. I can see new emails in my inbox, delete them etc. However, it won't allow me to send emails. Any suggestions? I have turned off the phone and deleted and reinstalled email to no avail.

I started having the issue again of the desktop image not being the same and switching from my personal image to default image when waking up from sleep. I followed your instructions and when I verified disk permissions on the Macintosh HD it showed a bunch of files all related to permissions differining with iTunes. I went ahead and fixed them.
Verifying the disk said:

I then followed your link and got to the part where it said to delete:
com.apple.desktop.plist (corrupted/not working desktop picture changes)
At first this seemed to fix the situation as I logged back in when waking from sleep. However, today it started happening again where instead of my saved image on the desktop it showed the default. Do you have any ideas of why this might be happening? Does this mean I just have to keep deleting the com.apple.desktop.plist file from now on whenever the issue comes up, or is there a more permanent solution?

BT email password change

Having forgotten my password, I had it reset and then changed it. However a message that I had changed the password was sent by Bt Yahoo to several other email addresses that I had created for a club.

The message has caused confusion as I no longer belong to the club and I need to remove those addresses from my profile. They are listed as 'Alternate email addresses' but when I click the edit button next to them, I can't access those fields to delete them.
Any help appreciated.

You may have to contact the help desk on 0800 111 4567, they will prob tranfer you across to the BT Yahoo help desk who should be able to delete these other email address's

Go to the Setup Email application on your BlackBerry and edit the account info there. You just need to reenter the password there.

I can't access email from my iPhone 3gs since changing email password

I can't access my email from my iPhone 3GS.
This is an iPhone problem, not an ISP problem.
I know this because I can access my email from both my laptop and webmail.
This is occurring here at home via my WiFi network and also a few kilometres away via 3G.
This morning I had to change the password on my Bigpond Cable internet email account.
Whenever I try to access email from my phone I receive the following error:
"Cannot Get Mail"
"The user name or password for "**** *****" is incorrect."
There are two buttons, one captioned Settings the other OK.
Both the user name and password are correct. This happened perhaps 4 or 5 times in the 6+ years I was with Internode and has happened a couple of times in the 20 months that I've been on Bigpond Cable.
I have re-entered my email account and connection details multiple times to no avail.
I have tried deleting the account, then rebooting my phone and creating a new account, but that didn't work.
I tried deleting the account, turning the phone completely off, waiting one minute and then after turning it back on, creating a new account but that didn't work.
I know I am entering the correct settings because before I deleted the account the first time, I took a series of screen captures from the Settings App and I also have the settings from MS Outlook to refer to.
Its as though somewhere in the phone, the old email password is being stored and being used instead of the new one, but I don't know where that could be except in the Settings app, "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and that is where I am entering the new password.
The only solutions to this problem I found by searching are those that I have already tried and haven't worked for me.
Reverting to the old password is not an option. My account was compromised by Malware, hence the password change and a complete scan of my laptop.
Any ideas?

The problem was resolved by erasing the entire contents of my phone and then restoring it, setting it up as a new phone.

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contactAppleCare, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.

When phone is back on, try adding e-mail account again, and be sure you're entering exactly as you set up, meaning its case-sensitive. If you're still getting same error, please let us know and let us know what e-mail account it is, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, etc.

make sure the outgoing (smtp server) has the updated password also. settings>mail,contact,calendars>then at account>it will say outgoing, smtp or advanced. after clicking on the smtp it will have an option to change that password, delete it and add ur new one

Until you can enter that password it kept asking for, you won't be able to send mail. You need to go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Email Account you are referring to>SMTP server, and make changes there. If you cannot remember your email password, you will have to get in touch with your provider to be able to change it.
