  • MSI GT60-0NC laptop suddenly shut off, will not turn on again. Please help.

    Hi there,
I purchased the laptop back in May 2013. Today I was using it and I just launched a game on Steam when suddenly it turned off immediately. It wouldn't boot back up again. I tried pressing down the power button for 1 minute (without AC power) and then connected the power supply and tried to boot but it would not.
It did not overheat and I opened the bottom and cleaned all the dust to be sure. The battery is fully charged.  I tried booting again but it wouldn't work. I live in India and I purchased the laptop in Kuwait. Seeing that there are no MSI service centers here is worrying me. Anyone had a similar problem? Any solutions?

I just had the same problem.  The power button flashes white for a sec, but nothing starts up.  The disk drive wouldn't even open, so it's probably a fried motherboard.  I just sent mine in for RMA, so it'll be a while before I get mine back.  I live in the US though, so I don't know how you're going to get service.
Not much help from me, but sending it in is probably the best solution.  As for where, well, I can't help you there.

My i-phone has shut down - will not do anything!! What's wrong??

This question really belongs in one of the iPhone forums. https://discussions.apple.com/community/iphone
But... my iPhone acted like this once after I dropped it.
First, make sure the phone has some charge in the battery. Plug it in and let it charge for a while if you haven't already done that.
Then try doing a reset. To reset the phone press both the Home button (on the front of the phone) and the Sleep/Wake button (on the top of the phone) at the same time. Keep both buttons pressed for at least 10 seconds and see if the phone will restart. In my case the reset did the trick.
If that doesn't work you might see if anything else here: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/phone/#section_1 is useful. If you still have no luck try asking your question again in an iPhone forum above... or visit your local Apple Store.

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

  • Blue screen on c7280 all in one reads b851fe84. lights flicker on and off. will not turn off.

HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One printer.  Operating system is Windows XP.  This has happened sporadically over several months.  A few weeks ago, I inserted new ink cartridges and that seemed to stop the problem.  Now, it has returned.  The on/off button will not turn the printer off.  The photo-menu, print photos, auto answer, on/off button, plus a light near the card slots all blink on and off.  The PhotoSmart Express displays a blue screen with B851FE84 written on it.  On occasion, I have received other blue screen messages but they appear for just a second or two.  I believe one earlier today was B01B17FC but it only appeared for a second or two so it may not be correctly recorded.

  • Dv7 6c95dx wifi turns off will not turn back on

Having problems with my laptop. While online the wifi will turn itself off and will not turn back on. You can push the button all you like and nothing. Sometimes if I restart the laptop it will come back on--other times I have to do a complete shutdown--going so far as removing the battery after shutdown.

Try to reset your connection and set up a new one. Check this page as it might give any help.

  • I-Phone 4s,Complete shut down,will not turn back on

    Hi All.
Hope someone out there can help me with a issue i'm having with my i-phone 4s.
It is just over 6 months old, regulary runs hot,but that issue is fixed. Yesterday, went to charge it as it has about 10% battery left,& it kept on vibrating.
Within about 20 mins, The phone was fully charged,so i took it off charge & left it locked until this morning.
Still by the afternoon, After a small use of the phone it still had 100% battery. Now it has turned itself completely off, It will not connect or turn on via laptop & usb lead. When trying to power it via a direct charge from a plug socket, The apple sign comes up,then goes off,& will continue to do this.
I have tried to reset it by pressing the home button & the power button at the same time, Then a USB image comes up along with an arrow, pointing to the I-Tunes image, when i disconnect it to connect to the laptop it goes completely off.
I have checked &re-checked all plugs, cables etc,all are in working order.
I have an appointment with a genius at the Apple store, but thought i would try this route.
    Please Help.

After attempting the reset, you received the message to restore the device. If after connecting to the computer and trying  a reset again to get the device started and it will not so that you can restore, I suggest keeping the Genius appointment and have the hardware checked. This will be your best route rather than here at the forum.

  • Phone turns itself off, will not turn back on

I got the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua only three days ago from Virgin Mobile in BC, Canada. Model number E2306. -Since then it has shut itself off for no reason 8 times.(eg- in the middle of charging, during the night, multiple times in one morning). -Always when I lock the screen, and when I go to unlock it again with the power button, nothing happens.  -Sometimes it happens if I leave the phone locked for 5 minutes, or 3 hours.  -The ony way I can get the phone to turn back on is through holding the OFF (reset) button next to the sim card slot.  -I have tried registering for Xperia Support through the app on the phone and it says my IMEI number is invalid? -The phone runs fine and no app crashes while it is turned on. How do I fix this, or should I return the phone?!

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

  • Orig iPhone 2.1 OS - Bluetooth service OFF, will not turn ON

have an orig 16Gb iPhone with version 2.1 of the iPhone OS installed. I have rebooted (using the method provided) twice.
Bluetooth service does not turn ON.
Prior to the 2.0 update, I had a Samsung WEP earpiece paired with my phone. I lost it and went without it for many months. Bluetooth is now off by default (probably has been for some time).
I got a new Jawbone 2 and attempted to pair it up with my iPhone.
    1) General
    2) Bluetooth, service is OFF
    3) Tap the ON button
RESULT: progress indicator spins endlessly until the screen dims and finally the saver kicks in.
The service never fully initializes. If I jump away from settings and come back, Bluetooth is set to OFF.
I have also attempted to pair my brand new jawbone 2 headset while this progress indicator is rolling but the two devices do not identify each other. The jawbone is IN pairing mode, but, the iPhone never recognizes this device. The progress indicator just rolls and rolls and rolls.
I have tried 'power down' resets and a full reboot (from the HOME screen, press and hold HOME and SLEEP/WAKE button past power slider and until Apple icon is displayed) and nothing has worked.
I saw a 3G thread with the same problem that suggested doing a reset, but, the so called author never really defined what type of reset (network, full, etc.) worked.
Any clues, guidance or of course solution to my problem would be greatly appreciated! It's illegal to drive and talk on the phone in the state of CA without a headset! But, without bluetooth service, my headset is not operational!

You will just have to restore it. Sorry.

  • IPhone 5 submerged in water, but did not turn off/will not turn off. Best course of action?

My iPhone 5 was just in the sink under running water and mostly submerged for a few seconds. It stayed on with all buttons working, clear screen and clear camera lens. I have tried to turn it off, but every time I try it reboots. I removed the SIM - it was completely dry, but since I can't see the inside I'm assuming there's definitely moisture in there.
I currently have it in an airtight bag with silica gel, and I'm planning to leave it for a day or two, but it's still on. Should I keep trying to turn it off, or is it better for me to just leave it? I don't have the necessary equipment to remove the battery, unfortunately.

Last attempt to turn phone off actually did turn the phone off. Not going to touch it for a day or two, and hoping for the best.

  • HELP!!! Computer shut off, will not restart

I have a Satellite L305-S5949 that shut off without warning. Will not start, no power indication lights with power supply attached. Completely dead, lt's like it blew a fuse or somthing.
I checked the power supply and there's 19 volts comming out which is correct.
Is it possible that the power supply fails under load and checking it with a multimeter doesn't show that?
    Hope it's not the motherboard.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Hello iggy.
You do not know how many power supply sockets I have had to repair, weak part of any laptop. Try wiggling the plug in it to see if you can somehow make a contact.
Yes, the power "pluged in" LED is on its own, it should light up any time the grid is powering the machine even if it is off. Get some thin shims of metal and also check the voltage of the battery, the +&- are shown on the pack.
The socket on the MoBo is pad soldered to it and will at times let go, I have been in the habit of paralleling a wire to all the contacts to ensure integrity.
