I Bought an iphone4s in japan and its not a brand new one but it still working i bring it to phil and gave it to my son and accidentay lock his sim on his iphone then after that he cant use his phone as a cellular phone . Even thou he apply the sim pin but it appear on the upper left corner that there is no sim how could we get rid of this problem any help would be appreciated.

Janpanese phones can not be carrier unlocked. It can not be used on any carrier other than the one it was sold for in Japan.
There is no way around this.

At this point your data is already gone. YOu will have to proceed with the restore. However if you backup on a regular basis, once the restore is done, you will have the option to restore from itunes or icloud.

Phone stuck in recovery mode- Itunes not recognizing phone so cant' restore

Please help. Im snowed in with no phone. I accidentally tried to update my 3gs to the latest software before updating my itunes. Now it is stuck in "recovery mode" showing the itunes logo and cord icon.
So I successfully updated itunes but it does not recognize my phone. I have tried restarting the computer, hard starting my phone, changed usb ports. When i plug the phone into the usb, my computer recognizes it and launches the "new hardware wizard". I tried having windows find the software but it never finds anything.
im not sure what else to do. I cant even get apple to help because i don't have a phone.

I dropped my phone and immidetely grabbed it out of the toilet, washed my hands and then turned it off. When I got home a few hours later I put it in rice, its been there for about 36 hours. I tried turning it on, i get texts, emails, facebook etc...butthe flas light won't turn off?!?! Thoughts ideas?!?!

If you ask Apple for a replacement for a phone that you accidentally broke then Apple is in the driver's seat. If they want to give a refurbished unit, they can. Your only recourse to get a guaranteed new phone is to buy a barnd new phone at full retail.

Weird calls made from cell phone?

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
Today, I went online to pay my bill (due April 14th) and noticed an international long distance charge for $69.65 on one of the lines on my account.
I did some digging and pulled up the bill with the charge on it, along with all the phone calls made from each phone on my account. On this particular line, there are some VERY weird phone calls. On 2/26/11, the are numerous calls that start at 1:05 am and continue - there is a different phone call made almost every minute. It also happens on 3/11/11 in the evening, 3/12 in the early morning, 3/12 in the evening, and one call made on 3/13 at noon. Here is what it looks like (deleted my location for privacy):

It's just really freaking me out. This is MY phone BTW, and I haven't made ANY of these calls. I've called several of the toll-free ones, and they all come up as party/chat lines. I've never used a chat line in my life, I'm not big on talking on the phone - I'm a texter, not a talker. Not to mention the fact that when these calls were made I was either asleep or sitting next to my spouse. I'm she would have noticed if I were chatting on a party line!
I called VZW and spoke with customer service. She basically told me that it was IMPOSSIBLE for there to be an error on their side. So I called tech support. He told me that he didn't know what was going on and told me to contact Fraud - their computers/system was down so he couldn't help a whole lot. So I'm going to call Fraud in a little while to see if they can help.
The phone has never been missing or stolen. It's a Samsung Intensity II, so it's pretty low tech. I don't know what to do, we can't really afford to pay the $69.65 and obviously these calls have been happening for awhile - I'm afraid it's going to happen again. This phone has issues too - it constantly gets on to the mobile web and randomly opens things like the calculator.
What should I do if Verizon can't help me?

I've called and spoke to a rep in the "Account Investigations". The woman told me that it's impossible for it to be a cloning issue - the reason she gave is that when a phone is cloned, the theif will run up your bill completely and call multiple different coutries. She said that it's still POSSIBLE to clone, even with the ESN numbers not the sim cards, but that it's rare and she claimed that because I only received a charge for $69.65 and only 80 minutes were used up total, that this isn't a cloning or fraud issue. She also said that the calls were valid because they were all made from my home area and incoming calls were received later that day. She also called the Canada number for me and it was a party/chat line as well.
Okay, whatever. I asked her if there was ANY way these calls could have been made without my knowledge - someone hacking in to the phone, the phone making calls on it's own...anything. She shot me down and said that she couldn't explain them - her only explaination was that someone in my home area had possesstion of the phone at this time and made the phone calls.She said it was impossible for there to be an error on Verizon's part. I told her that I gave my old phone to a friend of mine (who is single and LOVES to call party lines) and asked her if somehow the calls made on my old phone could be accidentally charged on my bill - she said definitely not. She advised me to use the parental control tools on the VZW website to prevent these calls from occuring again - which will cost me $5 more per month. I am probably going to do the parental controls thing - but I still just want to know what's going on. I'm not trying to get out of paying my bill, I just don't think I should pay for something I didn't DO. And the fraud rep didn't seem too interested in investigating further - she hung up on me, even. I have been a loyal customer since 2007 - always paid my bill on time, never made any complaints unless it was something I couldn't deal with myself...and now when I need them to help me out and just investigate a little further, they're not interested. I used to love VZW, but now I don't know.
What should I do? Just keep calling until someone helps me?
It seems possible that my old phone is getting confused with my new phone - when my wife's parents got divorced, her father shut off her mom's and sister's lines - not permanently, just temporarily through his account on VZW's site (you know, where you can disconnect the phone if it gets stolen or lost). When she tried to reactivate the phone on a different account, VZW cs reps told her than she couldn't because the phone was still "owned" by the account holder - the father. Now, the contract hasn't been renewed and the phones have both been permanently disconnected because the father chose to not renew the contracts and disconnected the numbers. When we tried to activate the phones, CS reps still claimed that the phones were "owned" by the father and wouldn't let us activate them.

How to delete the "erase all" button in ios 8

When you hold an iPhone 6 horizontally, there's a button on the ios 8 keyboard ( below the microphone button and above the comma) that erases the entire content of the document you're typing. Is there a way to get rid of this button? In the 2 weeks I've had the phone, I've accidentally hit that button 3 times and lost everything I just typed.
I wouldn't mind getting rid of the emoji button, too, as I never use that.

You may be able to remove the emoji button by going to Settings > General > Keyboards and then click Edit and deleting the Emoji keyboard.

Problem with Unlocked 6131

hi all,
i unlocked the secure-element of 6131phone and in the previous months i am using this phone for installing, deleting and accessing the cardlets inside the phone. But accidentally i tried several times through a java program to access the secure-element with WRONG AUTHENTICATION KEYS. (this happened because i keep the phone near the reader while my program is in an infinite loop.. OOOPS!!!! ) now i am not able to authenticate my host with secure-element. it always return 69 82 code. ie, "Security status not satisfied" state. I think my phone's secure-element went in to TERMINATED state as it is mentioned in the Unlock-midlet readme from nokia.
i have the following questions,
1. is there any way to get back my phone to previous state?
2. another unlocking (with nokia unlock-midlet) will help or create any problem?

5800 Xpress problem..

Hi everyone,
I got a 5800 last week and have found that while I'm using the phone, if I accidentally cover the prox sensor, the screen goes blank. Applications keep running and I can still touch buttons but with no display.
Any ideas what's going on?

If you had done a search, you would have found that this issue has been discussed time and time again. It is the normal operation of the phone for this to happen.
Next time try the search feature.
Show the KUDOS button some love.... Hit that bad boy.... It don't hurt....

Missed calls arnt showing up

Ok so i just relized this today that when someone calls me it dosnt ring saying that someone is calling me. It dosent even say they were trying to call me in missed calls. The only way i know this is that my friend called me at 2:45 and at 2:57 i heard a sound and looked and it said i have a voice mail from 2:45 and it was 2:57 and when i looked in my missed calls there was nothing. Another time i noticed this was when my mom said that she had called me but i didnt belive her becuase nothing notifided me that she had. Please tell me wat the problem is.

If you don't have a signal on your phone you will not get notified. You will only get notified of a voice mail once a signal is aquired by the phone. Apparently you must not have a signal or have the phone off or accidentally in airplane mode.
The reason your phone did not ring is because of the latter explanations above.

After upgrade to ios 6.1 cannot make calls

I upgraded my phone to IOS 6.1, now my phone is gone and I can not make calls or receive calls. Tried reset that did not work. Any ideas?

I recently exchanged at Apple Store my iPhone 3GS, which had been desimlocked.
I changed carrier yeserday - phone was OK.
After upgrade to 6.1 later in the day, the phone was simlocked on the former carrier !
