IOS 4 upgrade missing Safari

I have restored the phone twice with no luck. I am missing safari...strange. i have looked at the restrictions and they are not enabled...although when I enable them I see safari is greyed out anyway.

I was having the same problem. Upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0 and Safari was missing.
Restored and safari was there. Set up as new iPhone in Itunes with all syncing off and safari disappeared after initial sync. I noticed that my Enterprise Provisioning Profile had been reinstalled (Settings -> General)
Removed the Enterprise Provisioning Profile and Restored again. Set up as new iPhone in Itunes with all syncing off and safari DIDN'T disappear after initial sync.
Synced my apps (not the enterprise distributed one), music, movie, etc.
Safari is still installed. Now i just need to set up my email accounts/preferences.

Deleted phone, mail, safari, and ipod icons from 3g iphone.. Help!

Granddaughter deleted phone, mail, safari, and ipod icons from 3g iphone. How do I get back? Have restored to factory settings and done restore and they do not show up. Help.

I did just discover one way to get the missing icons back :
go to Settings:Reset (at the very bottom)
select
Reset Home Screen Layout
that will restore your missing icons, where phone, mail, safari and ipod are on the mail home tab.

Transclucent back behind Phone, Mail, Safari and Music Icons

I am curious to know was the background Translucent on the 5S behind the Phone, Mail, Safari and Music Icons and grey on the 5? If it was translucent on the 5S now after the update it is not any longer it is like the 5 was or still will be like the 5 with a grey background on the area in question also maybe even in the category app boxes it was the same as well. If anyone can be of assistance and let me know if it was like that as I have a friend who sent me a screen shot of his 5S and it was translucent in the area in question.

After the update to 7.1 it will not be. I did my 5 and set the transparency off and it is not as greyed but it is no longer translucent/transparent as before the update. now it is as same as the 5S i have.

For some weird reason, Apple seems to make it hard to download safari (using Chrome on Windows OS currently). There's no real logical path you can use to download Safari right now:
Support, Other Products? Software? NOT
Support, Other Products? Support Resources? Downloads & Updates? Internet: YES, but 5 clicks after the homescreen for a major Apple product? Really??
Wouldn't make it sense to have a Downloads button on the home screen (is software not as much, or even more a product than hardware?) or at least a button/choice option under Support?

My iPhone 5c won't connect to home internet. I have an Actiontec router and my phone shows that I'm connected but no IP address comes up on my phone and Safari and other Apps state that I'm not connected to the internet.

I recently purchased an iPhone 5c and for some unknown reason I can't connect to my wireless router's network at home. I've tried establishing a seperate IP address, manually adding the iPhone device, and even spent an hour with Centurylink's IT support and they couldn't figure it out. They said it was an iPhone error. I had an iPhone 3 about 1 1/2 years ago that had the same problem. I ended up getting rid of the phone because I couldn't solve this problem before. I thought a newer phone would not have the same problem.
My phone shows that I'm connected to my home internet, but when I open up network information for my home internet there is no IP Address listed. Safari and my other apps also state that I'm not connected to the internet. I'm ready to sell my phone back and go to an Android since I didn't have trouble connecting with it before. We also have a Macbook and iPad that both connect to the internet just fine. Please....oh please help.

Case of the missing Safari preference icons...

A couple weeks ago, I attempted to download an extension for Safari (unfortunately, I can't remember the name), and there wasn't any indiciation that it was being downloaded. Upon quitting Safari immediately afterward, when I opened up Safari's preference window, I noticed that some of the preference icons were missing.
Would anyone happen to have an idea as to how to restore these icons?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

Missing Safari icon after install of iOS 8

After download/install of iOS 8,my Safari app icon went missing. Can't retrieve it from App Store as it comes w/ iPhone (5s). How do I get it back? Thanks!

Developer menu missing (safari 4.0.1)

I've installed pure Leopard 10.5.6, upgraded to 10.5.7, installed safari 4, and the Developer menu (with great inspector and all things) is just missing. Where can I activate it please?

Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!

A Missing Safari Function!

I am posting here because there is something that I really wish was in Safari and before I send in a letter to Apple telling them to add it, not that that makes a difference but I wanted to make sure I wasn't just missing it.
The feature I miss or want is a "New Tab" button! Firefox has this and I really miss it when I use safari. Or even the ability to double click the tab bar like in firefox to open a new tab.
If I am just missing something let me know, otherwise I really hope that Apple adds this function to Safari as it really makes Tabbed browsing better.

Send feedback via Safari menu -> Report bugs to Apple...
I think some other third-party enhancers allow you to add a button. Have a search for Saft or Safari Enhancer at versiontracker.com or macupdate.com
Personally, I use Cocoa Gestures which allows me to 'draw' the letter T (or whatever you prefer) with my mouse to open up a new tab.

I phone 4 safari crash everytime.

I try to open my safari on the i phone 4 and it immediatelt crashs, also i,m not that smart about i phone i barely switch from andriod.

It's possible that the devices memory is near or at capacity due to having opened lots of apps, etc. It's fairly good practices to either: Power Down, Force Quit Apps, or Reset your iPhone regularly. This can free up memory in use by Apps staying open in the background. By staying open, I mean the first time you open an app it may display some loading screens, etc, and when you reopen it, the app can typically resume where you left off (remaining open in the background).
Try turning off the phone.

HT1430 I deleted Safari from my i-phone, but Safari does appear on my computer. How can I get Safari back on my I phone.

Safari can not be deleted from the iPhone, but can be restricted.

IPhone 6 arrived - PHONE MISSING FROM BOX

My iPhone 6 arrived two days ago via FedEx. Unfortunately, while the packaging, charger, and headphones were in the box, the actual physical phone was missing. Has anyone had to deal with this same horrible issue? If so, where, and what did Verizon do to rectify this issue? I've been given conflicting information by Verizon representatives who are not willing to work with me to figure out a fast and fair way to make me whole. Please help.

I suspect most problems not necessarily yours, is actually the buggy iOS 8.0 and the slightly better 8.0.2

Nokia 5800 Contract phone missing stuff on menu?

My phone is a nokia 5800 and i am on contract
Last night I did the red and green and camera button technique, and my phone went to factory settings i think.
But, I was left with something missing.
It was a folder type thing, and I know its missing as I had a scroll bar before, and now I dont.
It is definately the folder thing,
If you know how to get it back, that would be amazing x

Where was the folder? If you did a factory reset and the folder was a custom item or addition it is now long gone.
