I phone 6 screen shows bright colored line at right long edge

My iphone 6 (space gray, 64 GB) shows some distorted colors (they vary) along the right long edge of the screen (facing it in normal orientation).
Just want to know if this is an unusual problem; it's become more noticeable in the past 3 weeks, especially when info on screen has lighter colored background. Such as iTunes or App store...but not limited to those.
It's not very wide (less than 1/8th inch) but I'm finding it distracting and want to know if it's a problem that can be addressed/fixed or I just need to adjust to it.
It is viewable straight on or moreso if screen held even a bit angled (right side angled back).
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply.
I got it at Target, where I doubt they'll be able to do much for me now; would going to the Genius Bar make more sense? Thanks again.

No I doubt anyone at Target would be much help. They would likely just send it away and say we'll call you when it's back. As suggested make an appointment at an Apple store and have them take a look at it. Don't forget to backup your data before going in.

  • My I Phone 5 Screen shows bright white apple logo on black background continuously

My I - Phone 5 is continuously showing white apple logo on black background. It started this morning after my phone was charging overnight.

Try a hard restart, hold down the HOME button and the SCREEN LOCK button simultaneously until the screen turns off and release only when the Apple logo reappears.

  • IBook G4 14" freezes at start up or just shows vertical color lines

Hello, I am struggling with my 14" iBook G4. It either freeze at the early phase of starting up with gray background/apple icon, or shows vertical colorful lines on the screen. I tried to wipe out the HD and reinstall OS, it froze during installing. Whatever is shows on the screen does not mirror to an exteral display. I don't know if anyone has experience on this, a display issue, HD issue, or a more serious logic board issue. By the way, I was able to install OS TIGER on its HD by starting it in target mode and hooking up to another ibook with firewire cable. Any suggestion will be very appreciated. - I am not very experienced with Mac, trying to learn more at this forum. Thank you.

Hello, Cornelius. I am back. Here is what I did. I inserted the hardware test disk, restarted computer, while holding down "c" key. I could hear disk spinning. The colorful lines showed at begining, then they went away, leaving faint backlight on the screen, and DVD drive went silent. Then I restarted it, while holding down apple+L keys, like what you suggested. Disk spins, colorful lines stay, and then everything goes silent. While I was doing this, I hook the mini DVI port to a CRT monitor which I know works well for my powerbook. But no video signal was transferred to it at all, except a turning-on signal. I have another disk says "applecare protection plan", aslo says"techtool deluxe". I don't know what this is for, should I try this? I will be waiting for your or other pros' further instruction. I feel the frustration, but enjoy the learning process. Thank you very much for your precious suggestions.

  • Hi, my ipod stop responding, and it shows vertical colored lines

Hi, I was using Facebook app in my ipod and suddenly it froze ans showed vertical colored lines on a white backgroud. What should I do, my computer also doesn't recognize it.

    Try here:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If stil problem, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again.
If still problem time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. You likely havea hardware problem.

  • My phone is unresponsive, like a black screen, except bright colors streak the screen. I tried plugging it into the computer but it says its an unknown device. What happened?

I recently plugged in my phone to the computer to download some music. It was resyncing and copying an app, while simultaneously I was on snapchat when suddenly a big wave of pink covered the bottom of the screen, then streaks of bright colors covered the whole screen. I cant turn it off because I use assistive touch, which is now covered by the streaks. Right now I'm waiting for my phone to turn off by itself, hopefully, because it was low battery when I plugged it in. Not only that, but when I plug it into the computer it says the device and port are 'unknown'. What happened? Is my phone broken? Please help me.

See if you can connect in recovery mode and restore your device, explained in this article:

  • My screen is displaying colored lines...

I was using my Macbook Air and something happened where all of a sudden, colored lines were displayed on the screen...? They are both vertical and horizontal, and are very bothersome and I am wondering if this could lead to worse for my laptop. Does anybody know how I could possibly get rid of them? If so, thank you!!
P.S. I tried holding down Command+Option+R+P before the gray screen showed up when turning my laptop back on, but no luck.

The indication is that your monitor is at fault or the GPU on the logic board is bad.
First perform SMC reset and recheck,
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
After SMC reset, if same, contact Apple for service call for part replacement.

Look as if you're having a GPU glitch. If I were you, I'd take the computer into your local Apple Store and run extensive diagnostics on it. You can do a basic hardware check yourself, using the Apple Hardware Test.
    Good luck,

my screen has like 20 different-colored vertical lines going down it and they seem to be stemming from a horizontal black line. it looks like a crack in the screen. there is no physical crack on the outside but i am assuming it is on the inside. my macbook is not under warranty anymore. how can i get this fixed, will it be expensive? what can i do?? if i touch it at ALL it gets way worse, im scared if i even close my macbook it will get worse. please help!!!

    Have you tried:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • Powerbook Al 1.25GHz screen shows yellow boxes/lines

My five year old AlPB recently started showing yellow lines/boxes on the screen. The first time it happened I was in safari and quitting fixed the problem, it then happened later that day and quitting didn't fix anything. i rebooted twice with no luck, then booted up with leopard DVD and it was fixed. A week later the same thing happened and after multiple reboots nothing fixed it. I reset the PRAM and no luck. Then i ran the hardware test and halfway through the test while it was checking the RAM it fixed its self and everything passed the test. However after waking it from sleep twice it has again showed these lines/boxes (but now only in the finder not in other applications) and a restart has resolved the issue. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this. I took a screenshot and the picture contained the lines indicating that it is a hardware problem not the LCD. Thanks for you help.

From what I gather, there is a whole slew of us with all the same problem whether its single lines that multiply as time goes by or for us earlier ALPB owners, we get a whole screen full of intermittent checkered patterns, but since these machines are all a couple years old and out of warranty I am pretty sure Apple is not going to be much help. They'd rather us dip into our pockets and buy new computers than to spend some big bucks themselves and stand behind their products.
The only good news is that if you are handy enough to disassemble the machine and send only the logic board to a reputable lab, they can re-solder the video chip back in place and this solves the problem for about $60 to $100. This seems to be better than dishing out anywhere between $250 to $700 for a new logic board, which runs the risk of having the same defect 2 to 3 years down the road since they don't seem to have been built right the first time.
If you want to know if you have the exact same problem that most of us all have, then press on the case above the track pad or from the bottom in about the same area. Not hard, but just enough to flex the logic board a little inside. You will notice that it temporarily fixes the problem, but don't get too happy. Working that lose video chip back and forth only worsens the problem, so soon you it will be to a point where it will only help if you constantly hold pressure in a key spot which is unique to each PB.
It's too bad though. I was just beginning to really think Apple was different.

  • Why my MacBook screen showing white color and a folder with question mark?

My MacBook screen blank in white color and with a folder showing. How to settle and ensure open properly?

    To reinstall:
    1. Boot from your OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities or File menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
    7. When finished quit DU and return to the installer. Complete the OS X installation.

  • My iphone4  screen shows vertical brown lines

WHY IT SHOWS VERTICAL BROWN BLACK LINES AGAIN ON MY IPHONE 4

  • Why is my screen showing weird colored blocks?

I'm getting an odd display glitch that shows up every once in a while (increasingly frequently) usually after switching to an app or opening a new tab in my browser (Chrome). It goes away as soon as I scroll. This has been happening occasionally for probably a month or so, but in the past few days it's gotten worse. It has only ever showed up in Chrome or in Sublime Text 2, but these are also just the programs I use most frequently. The glitch doesn't really bother me that much, but I'm worried it's indicative of something more serious.

It's hard to tell from the screenshots (mostly because the forums are screwing up and not displaying the full-size copies of the image when I click on them), but are those artifacts restricted to the content area of Chrome windows only? (In other words, they don't overlap into the title bar, toolbars or outside the window?) If so, it's got to be a Chrome issue. Try another browser.
If the problem extends outside Chrome windows, then the issue must be a hardware fault. You will need to contact Apple for service.

  • IPhone screen shows small light starburst bottom right corner

All of a sudden, there is a small starburst of white showing on the bottom right of my screen. I have not dropped or any type of problem with my phone. I have no clue as to why this could happen. Any help here would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello Beemeupdeb
This might possibility hardware related. But would like to see you try some suggestions below just to see if it goes away.
    1. Reboot iPhone
    2. Shut iPhone off for about 20 min then turn it back on
If you find powering off the iPhone the starburst goes away. Wait 20 min then power it back on and see if the starburst is there.
Any chances your using a Magnetic case? with the iPhone. Or any chances you go through scanners or metal detectors daily at work? Just general questions seeing if maybe something on the outside may of all the sudden caused image quality starbursts.
I see you live in Lodi. So I doubt it was cold weather :P
But I do agree with the last poster. I would take it into an Apple Retail Store with appointment and get a tech to take a look at it.
I know we got one in Arden not sure what others are close to Lodi.
