I phone compatibility with hands free car systems

I purchased an I phone which replaced a Palm Treo 650 (verizon). It worked perfectly.When I am using my in car hands free system, the I phone Tries to work but the voices break up,especially at he beginning. When I am speaking I phone to I phone it is almost impossible to understand the conversation. I phone to land line is better.
I phone to I phone not thru the handsfree is perfect.There seems to be a compatibility problem. My device is bluetooth.

There are several threads on this subject that you can use the search function for... I suggest you make sure to mention what in-car system you are using (car make and model), since this is about the most important piece of information. Also, you might try the forums at edmunds.com that have lots of related threads organized by auto make and model. For me, my Treo 700p worked, but had some issues, with my '07 Toyota/Lexus system. The iPhone works perfectly.

Cannot pair iPhone with hands free car system

I am having trouble with my Merecedes recognizing my iPhone. I paired it and the phone is "authorized" with the car, but when I try to connect the two, the screen for the phone flashes and then disappears saying "no phone". It worked fine with my Blackberry but won't connect to the iPhone. iPhne help says perhaps my car system is not compatible, but it is a 2007 model and the Blackberry 8700 had no problems. Can anyone help?

I have been having the same problems. Do you use a PC or a Mac to sync with your iPhone? I think the problem is with PC's but I am not sure yet. It may have something to do with an apple device driver on PC's. Mine works if I restart the driver in the computer and sync it but I have to do every day.

HT204387 Bluetooth hands free car system & PBAP

I have successfully paired via bluetooth my iPhone 5 with my cars built in hands free. In my iPhones bluetooth settings I have gone in to the settings for that device and selected to sync contacts. The phonebook in the handsfree system says it is empty so I can't make calls from the hands free system unless I do it from the phone keypad. I am assuming that because I have the option to sync contacts in the bluetooth settings that menas my car has the PBAP function.

My experience is that the BB bluetooth profile cannot carry out the two things you mention. For part 2 of your question: have you tried out to switch your profile to "no sound" before you enter your car? I am not sure if the ringsound is re-enabled on hands-free profile but it is worth a try.
This is probably not satisfying but maybe someone will work on this for future releases of the OS (eg send ringtone sound via blue tooth like Nokia devices do or enable short message readers via blue tooth)

Iphone with Parrot 3200 LS Hands Free Car kit: photos for contacts?

Hello,
Is anyone else using the Parrot 3200 LS hands free car kit with your iphone? I have one, and so for it's been great, but I can't figure out how to get the photos associated with my contacts to transfer to the contacts in the Parrot unit. It synced the contacts no problem, just no photos with them. Has anyone been able to get their photos to come up on the parrot unit? How?

I have had the 3200 LS for 3 months. I havn't seen the photos transfer. Either my Parrot or my iphone does not work right. They will work showing my address book for two or three days then they will not pair for 3 or 4 weeks. I'm in one of those not pairing periods now. The grey symbol is lit. Under bluetooth it shows that they are paired but they don't work. Anyone got any ideas? I'll try working on the photos the next time it decides to work.

Hands-Free Car Options using AUX connection

Looking at hands-free car options for my wife's iPhone 4s. She has a Honda Civic with AUX jack to the stereo system.
So far, tested two locally available systems:

She liked the sound quality through the car stereo, and the option to playback music also, but found the BT control finicky and prone to disconnection/unpairing (guess you need to practice) More particularly, she doesn't like the fact that the stereo need to be set to AUX mode to hear a call coming through. She had the notion that one can be listening to the radio or a CD and the system will automatically interrupt when a call comes in. I explained that whether BT or wired, all of these AUX input systems (to my knowledge) have that limitation.
So I looked at a separate phone speaker option:

I was quite impressed. Simple to use. BT connection very stable and easily re-established when getting in the car. Fairly good sound quality with adequate volume, considering the size of the speaker (just a little background hiss), but she finds it too tinny.
So, back to the car stereo speaker option. Are there any hands free sets (BT or wired) that will automatically switch to AUX mode, or otherwise allow a received or made call to be heard through the car speakers when it is in another (CD, Radio AM/FM) mode? Or else is there some sort of auto-switching AUX adapter that can be used?

I think I see why the first link 'HD Accessories' pulled their link.
The Lux does not seem to work with the iPhone 3G even though the first link said it was compatible.
The second link now seems to have removed the iPhone 3G from the list.
I would guess this has to do with the charging pin from the now obsolete firewire pin for charging.

Does my iPhone 4 work with Hands Free Profile (HFP)?

My new car is supposed to send/receive text messages via the new fandangled stereo/navigation unit. The manual says the phone must be compatible with "Hands Free Profile (HFP)" or Message Access Profile (HFP)". Does the iPhone4 use/have this? New car is a 2012 Subaru Impreza with the Nav system.

However, since upgrading? to the iphone on Orange (late November) when in the vehicle the connection between phone and car kit is lost way too often and the radio screen says "no network".
I spoke to Landrover who say it's not their problem (probably right as the N95 worked fine).
Any ideas would be welcome

Iphone 4 Pairing 2010 Honda Civic with hands free link.

I purchased this vehicle several months ago and paired my iphone with the hands free link with no problem. All the sudden last week I started my car and noticed that the hands free did not connect. I haver since tried numerous things, such as deleting the phone from history from the car system and try to pair again with no success.
The iphone picks up the hands free link system. The hands free link gives the pair code (0000). I enter the code, but then a message on the iphone states the code is correct but the pair was unsuccessful. How can I correct this? Thanks.

Remove the phone from the device list in the vehicle. Remove the vehicle from the device list on the phone. Do a reset on the phone, holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, turn Bluetooth on for the phone. Then go into the vehicle and follow the manufacturer's instructions for putting the vehicle into pairing mode. See if you can pair the two devices.
On occasion, devices will not always connect automatically. If after the devices pair this happens, just go into the Bluetooth setting on the phone, locate the listing for the car and tap on it. It should connect then. This will prevent the need to try and pair the two devices again.

IOS5 update for iPhone 4 problem. 2011 KIA hands free telephone system can no longer access the contacts.

My brand new 2011 KIA Optima no longer has the ability to access the contacts on my iPhone4. Everything was working fine under 4.3.5. Is anyone else having trouble with iOS5 and a hands free tel system in their auto? I really miss the ability to verbally access the contacts in my phone while driving. This update has taken a great safety feature away from my ability to drive and speak on the phone.
I have tried the following to no avail.
1) performed a software restore to the phone via iTunes.
2) performed a hard reset to the phone several times.
3) deleted the telephone pairing to the car, performed a new pairing.
4) update telephone to 5.0.1

Only thing I can think of at this point is a full Windows reinstallation. Not actually having the exact same board you have I can't really say for certain that Photoshop CAN work with a 7970.
There is also the possibility that your 7970 is somehow faulty, though you wouldn't think it would work to do the other things you do if that were the case.
All I can say is that I've been doing 3D work all day and the 7850 does work with Photoshop - though to be honest I've had a couple of crashes today when trying to set the color of the 3D Materials. Thankfully Photoshop auto-saved my behind, and when it came back up the same operation to set the material color worked.

Nokia hands free car kit & 6310i

when i bought my ford st170,i had a hands free car kit fitted, after selling it i bought a new ford transit connect but not before removing it to fit it to the van.The hands free has a red wire,yellow wire and black wire plus two wires for the speakers,having looked at the wiring for the van,the colour code is totally different.
Can anyone HELP me,

If you are not quite sure where all the wires go in your vehicle then you should'nt attempt to install this kit, modern vehicles have very complex wiring systems on them and you can do damage which could cost you a lot of money. I have been installing car kits for 16 years and can put you intouch with a engineer near you if needed.

I have just aquired a Nokia 6300
I have a Cark 91 hands free car cradle and would like to know what conversion kits are available to enable me to use the phone with the existing kit

nothing will convert this kit to work with a 6300 phone, its blueooth connection only unless you buy a THB Bury kit.

"iPhone 3" - do you mean the iPhone 3G or 3GS? Which iOS version?
Does your hands-free device support the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)? If not (many don't), you can't sync your contacts. If it does, you need to refer to the device manual for instructions.

No auto answer when used with Hands Free system in Toyoya RAV 4

I can make outgoing calls using the hands free system in my Toyota RAV 4 but must manually answer all incoming calls. Is there any way to have the phone pick-up after a set number of rings..I did not have this problem with my Palm Treo 650.

I just got back from my dealer...bottom line, update works. It was a $99 charge, they ran into some issues, it was their first try at it. I brought a 2 GB usb stick with me, one I had lyling around, formated it, and let them use it. They said they could not give it back, since it would have their data on it...no big deal. Turns out, there was an issue with the USB stick I gave them, they had to go out and purchase on (not sure why they didn't have one on hand alread). I have about 8900 songs on my iPod, a few playlists. It took about 20 minutes or so to finish the loading, then when you try to use some voice commands, says you cannot do it while it's compiling songs or something to that effect. A few minuts, later, the voice commands worked. Only issue I see is that everytime I turn off the car, and get back in, it goes through the process of the load again. the 2nd time was a little quicker, but still took about 5-10 minutes, and again, had the delay of not being able to use the voice. Problems With Hand free system and Iphone 4

Looking at the details of other people who all seem to e having the same problems with the connectivity with audio systems, I have a state of the art Kenwood car system which keeps loosing the phone. Whats the pointy of even bothering with a phone like this 3 weeks after I got it if it's features will not work.
Will Apple accept that the phone has a fault and give me the option of getting a different phone which will do what the box says?
