  • IPhone Configuration utility locked my phone now passcode doesn't work

Googled the heck out of this but haven't seen any posts even close to this problem.
I was testing the iPhone Configuration Utility, prior to deploying configurations to enterprise users. I modified the passcode settings to what i thought would be basic requirements.
I also created payloads for Restrictions, and Exchange ActiveSync, but haven't included in the post, since I am fairly certain they shouldn't have any impact to the issue.
Once I saved the profile, i deployed to my phone via email, and installed it on my device. It then locked, and will not accept the passcode that I was using before installing the "test" profile.
The only other screen that I made any change to, that refers to any sort of password/code, was in the General area:
I set a security password to control when the profile can be removed, but it is a password more than the simple four-digit that the phone appears to be looking for.
I can try 2 more times before the phone wipes, which isnt the end of the world thanks to iCloud, but I sure would like to know what happened....
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Kevin

Thanks Bonesaw, I did connect the phone to the host running ICPU, but it was still looking for some unknown passcode. I ended up putting the phone in DFU mode as suggested by Kilt, and restored the phone. This is the first I've used the iPCU, but I would have been willing to bet the authentication password for the profile wouldnt affect the device passcode. I must have done something else wrong, so I will try it again and see what happens. Thanks for responding!

  • SPA122 Unable to log into Phone Adapter Configuration Utility

I am unable to log into the Phone Adapter Configuration Utility for my SPA122.  It has never been used before and the default username/password of "admin, admin" is giving me a prompt saying that the username or password are incorrect.  I have reset the ATA as well, and it is still giving me this error.  Any help???

    hi Patty,
what you want to do is hold the reset button for about 30 sec, you should see the lights change ( all come on briefly ).
If the devices is part of a managed service, and has been locked down, the only way to factory reset is with the admin password.
Did you purchase it new?  if so, you might try taking it back to your place of purchase.
You can also try using the ivr to reset.
hit ****   - you should hear the ivr intro
    type 73738   (spell reset)
    hit 1 to approve
if that asks for the admin password, then you need the password.
    Hope that helps,
    -Dan

  • Is there a "Configuration utility" for SE android phones?

Hi, I'm wondering If there Is an application similar to Apples "Iphone Configuration utility" for SE Android phones?
    //Johan

    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL926
It gives you the ability to craft configuration profiles (for mail, wlan and so on) and activate them on the phone via a PC or Mac. I work in a support enviroment and this would be a great app for us (remote to customers computer and use app to configure phone).

  • SPA525G2 phones - Phone Firmware Configuration Utility

    Hi!
I'm troubleshooting an integration of two (2) SPA525G2 phones with UC320W. One of the things I want to do is upgrade SPA525G2 phones firmware.
Currently, these phones are using SW 7.4.8 version and I want to upgrade it to 7.5.2 to see if it helps to fix the integration. According to "IP Phones Models SPA301, SPA303, SPA501G, SPA502G, SPA504G, SPA508G, SPA509G, SPA512G, SPA514G, SPA525G, SPA525G2, and WIP310 - ADMINISTRATION GUIDE" (URL
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/csbpipp/ip_phones/administration/guide/spa500_admin.pdf), page # 16, one of the ways to upgrade the firmware of these phones is using a phone firmware configuration utility, but I've not found it yet on the cisco support comunity. I did find the last version of firmware but not the utility.
Where can I download that utility? url?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If the SPA525G2 phones are connected to UC320W the phone firmware is bundled into the UC320W firmware.
The UC320W will load the supported firmware load and features for the SPA525G2 phones.
Once the UC320W detects the SPA525G2 phone it will automatically install the firmware version that is supported by UC320W.
One additional point, opening a web broswer to the SPA525G2 IP address, the firmware upgrade option will not be displayed (locked out) when connected to UC320W.
    The phone firmware configuration utility
is for SPA30X and SPA50X phone models and is included in the phone firmware zip file on Cisco.com

  • My brother used his Verizon Wireless SIM to activate my factory unlocked iphone 5s.  Now, I can't access the cellular data network option to change APN settings for my new carrier.  Already tried configuration utility and factory resets.

So as the title says, after I got my iPhone 5s from apple, factory unlocked, my brother used his sim card in it for a moment to allow it to be registered and usable on WIFI until I made it to Japan.  Now that I have a data SIM card, I have to input specific APN settings, which are located in settings>cellular>cellular data network, however, cellular data network is not available as an option. I have reset the phone multiple times with and without backups and with and without the new sim in the phone.  I have also used the configuration utility to try to put the APN settings in the phone.  I contacted Apple and they didn't really have an answer as to what i should do.  My brother checked his Verizon account and my phone does not show up as one of his devices, so right now I'm stuck with and incredibly expensive iPod.  Does anyone have any idea what I can do to remedy this?  I am unable to contact Verizon via telephone myself as I have no phone service.  Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

You only have to clone your mac when using certain cable modem.  You don't clone your mac when using dsl.

  • Issue with iphone configuration utility: eap-tls certificate selection

    hello,
I am a new Apple user so if there's anything obvious, please bear with me. I also tried to search in the forum but didn't find any solution.
    here's my issue:
I use iphone configuration utility v2.1 for windows. I added 2 certificates(one user cert and one CA cert) under 'credentials'. then i configured one wifi network (eap-tls using the certificate i justed added). then i synced with my phone. everything worked fine so far. however, when I tried to connect to wifi, i got error and found out that iphone was using a certificate issued by IPCU CA instead of the certificate i uploaded.
this behavior could be corrected by manually change the certificate from wireless setting. however, this has to be done every time I try to connect to wireless network which is quite frustrated. a workaround is to email me the certificate and install it from iphone. but i can't install the CA certificate via this way.
i am wondering if anyone has similar issue and how to fix this.
    thanks,
    -ns

the configuration utility doesn't allow you to select the iPCU cert which is kind of a self signed by the software. you could only select the cert that you imported.
upgraded to ipcu ver 2.2 today and it seems to fix the problem. will monitor it for several days and report back.

  • HT4839 iPhone configuration Utility No MMS Editing?

iPhone configuration Utility only gives me the option to change the APN name, username, password, and proxy server or port? i need to change the MMS settings for a configuration profile. Please Help?

I do not know why, but from what I've read there is no way to enter MMS settings in the iPhone Configuration Utility. There is a way to force the iPhone to show the MMS settings screen if your phone is unlocked and you have a SIM for a provider that your phone does not currently know the settings for. In that case, see

    Hi,
1.What version of CM do you have. ??
2.Is the "Cisco 7920 USB" showing up under Network Adaptors in the Device Manager ?
    3. Can you check that under network properties for the 7920 , the firewall is not enable.
If so , please remove it and let me know the outcome.
    4. Can you try using DHCP on the NIC USB ??? Also are you running any TFTP service that
may be using port 69?? The Configuration Utility has limited DHCP server capabilities. If the USB interface of the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 is set to DHCP, the IP address should be 192.168.1.X to allow network communication between the Cisco 7920 Wireless IP Phone and the PC.
    5. You could be running into on of the above Software Defects [ not 100 % sure ]...

  • Where can I find the iPhone Web Configuration util for Windows?

    Hi,
Struggling at the moment with the iPhone Config Util v2 on Windows - I can't get our Exchange account settings to stick. I have previously used the web configuration and that worked everytime, but now I've lost my installation somewhere. Saying that, that was on v1/v2 iPhones.
Where can I download this older utility?
Is there an issue with the new configuration util and v3 phones? Does the new configuration work with self-signed certificates? Ours just seems to report authentication errors when trying to set the profile up.
    Any ideas?
    Neil

I just contacted Fedex and they advised that a MSDS is not required with shipments of iPhones to/from the US.

  • Cannot turn off iMessage in IOS 5.1 with Iphone Configuration Utility 3.5

    Summary:
When phones are upgraded to the new iOS 5.1 and if they either have a iPhone Configuration Utility (IPCU) template already in stalled or if you install a new one there is no way to successfully turn off iMessage.  Used to work with iOS 5.0 by using IPCU and turning off 'Allow Facetime' and the end-user would no longer have facetime OR iMessage.  Do the same in the IPCU and apply it to a iOS 5.1 device and the iMessage will still work and FaceTime.  Take a 5.0 phone with the template already in stalled where iMessge and FaceTime do not work...then upgrade phone to iOS 5.1 and the iMessage comes back!
    Steps to Reproduce:
Create a template in (unsigned) in IPCU and turn off 'Allow FaceTime'.  Apply this template through the use of the IPCU to an iPhone with iOS 5.1.  iMessage will NOT be disabled.
    OR
Create a template in (unsigned) in IPCU and turn off 'Allow FaceTime'.  Apply this template through the use of the IPCU to an iPhone with iOS 5.0.  Then confirm iMessage is gone (not working or available) then upgrade teh iPhone to iOS 5.1 and you will see iMessage will NOT be disabled and is in proper working condition.
    Expected Results:
By turning off the 'Allow FaceTime' in the IPCU this will and has in the past disabled and removed the FaceTime and iMessage Apps.
    Actual Results:
By turning off the 'Allow FaceTime' feature in IPCU and loading it onto an iOS 5.1 iPhone the iMessge and FaceTime Apps still are there and work.
    Regression:
We have been able to test and get the same results on the iPhone 4 and 4S for iOS 5.0 (works as promised) and then once upgraded to iOS 5.1 (doesn't work as promised)
We have tried using IPCU 3.4 and 3.5 FYI.
    Anyone else see this issue?

This seems to be working for me now but will keep monitoring it the next couple of times I use it to make sure its not a one time thing

  • VPN settings from configuration utility needs reboot

    The device is iPhone 3GS.
.mobileconfig generated with iPhone Configuration Utility.
All settings work as expected except that the VPN profile does not show up unless i reboot the phone.
Anyone else experienced this. Any solution?
This is most likely a bug, right?

We are seeing the same issue on our iOS 4 devices. Roughly 80% of the time a reboot is required. Our mobile config includes the following three payloads: Wi-FI, VPN, and Passcode. I was using iPCU 3.0 (22?) beta build of iPCU to create the mobileconfig profiles.
Today (July 14) Apple posted the production version of iPCU 3.0 (build 235). I haven't fully tested this version to see if it has improved.
A related issue we have witnessed is that if a person resets their network settings, our enterprise VPN entry will disappear from the VPN panel. The mobile config profile is still there, but user's can't find our settings to start a VPN session.

  • Iphone configuration utility for Windows XP doesn't work.

Getting message when I try to launch Iphone Configuration utility on WIndows XP Sp3 machine - IPCU.exe Procedure entry point not found.
The procedure entry point sqllite23_clear_bindings could not be located in the dll library sqlite3.dll.
Say ok to that and get also a message that Iphone configuration utility failed to locate Apple Mobile device support . Please reinstall, you can download Iphone configuration utility from http://blah blah blah.
I already tried 3.4 and that didn't work. Back rev'd to 3.3 and same error. Running Itunes 10.5 and IOS 5.0 on phone. Any ideas?
Getting ready to deploy about 25 of these and using MS Exchange 2007 as email and active sync. I was hoping to use the utility to help roll out security settings and such.

we noticed the exact same thing. We used IPCU 3.4 and the new feature of setting WiFi proxy which we are very interested in. From Windows, after installing the profile, there was no proxy info on the device UI. From the Mac, the proxy info is there and can be seen from the device UI but it does not work. These proxy settings, even though we can see them through the device UI, do not "stick". They have no effect. HTTP traffic still does not go through the proxy.
Using the Mac is fine as long as we can make the proxy settings "stick", otherwise we have to ask our users again to do them manually. Has anybody found a workaround or something?

  • IOS 8.1.1 and iPhone Configuration Utility

I look after the IT of a small school, we have a small fleet of iPads, they've all just been updated to 8.1.1. This would be great, HOWEVER, I need to be able to manage them from the iPhone Configuration Utility for Windows. Unfortunately, the latest version only supports up to iOS 6.1. Can anyone tell me if there is a newer piece of software, or a way around this, keeping in mind that I have no cached versions of the earlier iOS versions.
