I phone Dropped in Water

Hello everybody,
Last weekend i went to beach and jumped into sea having my Iphone 2g in pocket. On the very next moment i found my iphone in my pocket and put gave it to my friend. It was still ON, he truned it off.
When i came back home i opened its back cover and put it in the SUN for one day facing its opened backside to SUN. I also tried to dry it with hair dryer for several minutes.
When i dryed it with hair dryer it was kindof hot when i hold it in my hand. However i closed its back cover to its origional position and tried to put it on charging. It started charging and did show me as it is working in good condition.
I left it attached with the charger and gone out. When i came back it was showing to attach it to itunes. a CD and cable ICON on the Iphone.
Afterwards I tried to restore my iphone with Itunes, it brings me up on an error number (1603) Unknown Error, i dontknow what is the problem
Any Help ?????
Thanks

Well i tried to dry the wetness when phone was power off.
2nd this phone still turns ON, when i connect it to charging or to itunes.
However when i plug it off the fone goes off. It seems battery gone dead.
and phone is not being restored with itunes.
i need to ask if this one is the dead battery problem, i am unable to restore ?
Thanks

  • Problems after phones dropped in water.

lately my phones dropped in water for 30 mins long, after i noticed i immediately bring that to service center for repair but after repair my phones not working properly like before.the problem is bluetooth an error comes "Unable to perform Bluetooth operation" then wifi error "System error" i also cant restore the back-up and application settings from my MMC.
what can i do now?is there any way that i can fix my phone specially my MMC for back-up?

Then you will slowly encounter more and more problems with your phone as the electronics corrode. The issue with the memory card is probably due to card reader or mainboard. The service centre will have to check to see which it is and replace as necessary.
Another option would be to try to restore the backup using Ovi Suite. You will need to transfer the backup from the memory card to your pc first and try it from there. This way you bypass the card reader.

I have an iPhone 3GS that I dropped in water for a moment. After drying it and everything, it still does everything but get service. Can I back it up and transfer its data to a new iPhone 3GS? I heard something about how loading a backup from a water damaged phone could mess up the new one... is this true? I would truly appreciate the help, please let me know, thanks!

Sounds like your phone is in recovery mode.  In this case, all data on it is gone.  There's nothing to back up.

You're going to need a new phone unless you are very lucky. Take it to an Apple Store.

  • I dropped my phone in the water!!!!!!

Please help me I dropped my phone in the water.

Hobby Stores have a product called silica something used to dry flowers.  It looks like salt but is not!  What I bought came in a carton looking like a 1qt milk carton.  First: with battery out and the phone open, wrap it in a paper towel and tape just to hold it in place.  The tiny beads will get into buttons, etc if you don't cover it.  Then put the still open but wrapped phone in a small mixing type bowl large enough to cover the phone with an inch or two of the beads.  Then pour the beads in along the side of the phone trying not to hit it and fill it at least 1" (more is better) over the phone.  Set it on a shelf somewhere and let it sit for 3 days.  When you take it out be careful not to tear the paper towel.  You do not want to get beads inside your phone.
    Hope this works for you.

Apparently, your definition of "works perfect" is radically different from mine...

i had iphone 5s which was accidently dropped in water i dont know if it could be fixed or not but is it possible to save my data using i clouds without fixing the phone

if you set it up to sync with iclouds in terms of contacts and calendar and the likes in advanced the data is still in icloud
if you set it up to backup to iclouds since you only get 5GB free storage you would likely had paid to get more or used very little storage on your phone then the backup is still in iclouds

  • LG Ally and One Drop of Water

My wife was using her new LG Ally phone (4 days old). She apparently had a drop of water on her finger and when she switched open the keyboard the phone went dead. We tried charging it and it came on but only had 4% charge.
We took it to a store and they said it had water damage. We thought that was crazy but after looking at the phone we realized that when you open the keypad your fingers are right over the connection of the battery to the phone. So one drop of water is all it took (crazy but true).
We let the phone sit for a day and a half while we contacted support. They basically said we were screwed (in a polite way) and that we would have to buy a new phone at full price. They did, however, tell us a canned story about dropping it in the toilet and putting it in rice to dry it out. That made me think I should try charging it again. And this time (a day and a half later) it seems to be charging normally. We didn't put it in rice (but we are talking about a drop of water) but I'll probably do that as well just to be on the safe side. Support also asked if we had the phone in the bathroom while taking a shower which makes me think that this phone (all smart phones?) is very sensitive to moisture in the air.
When we got the phone I looked into getting a cover for it. I found some plastic back covers but I didn't understand why you would want that. But after this I'm thinking that it is needed to keep water away from the battery.
Just FYI. I'd never try to use this phone on a rainy day.

Is it working OK now? Did your indicators turn pink? By the battery, where it should be red X's, it turns pink when it gets wet. If that happens, Verizon will not replace it under the manufacturer's warranty, but I believe Assurion does if you have insurance (which you can still add if it's within 30 days).
Yes, smart phones are definitely more sensitive to moisture. I don't even take mine into the bathroom with me while showering. And ever since I got caught in a rainstorm at a concert, I put my phone in a Ziploc bag if I'm in an outdoor situation where that could happen.
If it ever gets wet, immediately shut it off and pull out the battery. Place the phone and battery separately in a bag of uncooked rice for 1-2 days before even attempting to turn it on. (That's for, say, dropping it in a glass of beer ... a drop is probably OK.) I know it's hard to wait that long, but turning it on and charging are the worst things you can do. The moisture can corrode the battery and insides of the phone when the battery is connected. (Some people suggest using a hair dryer to blow out the water, but I would not do that ... the heat can ruin it, and the air can blow the water farther into the phone.)
I hope it's working and all is well! Thanks for giving others the heads-up.

  • Does it bring any harm or damage to the iphone 4s if let say there is a drop of water drop onto the iphone 4s RECEIVER??

does it bring any harm or damage to the iphone 4s if let say there is a drop of water drop onto the iphone 4s RECEIVER??

Water and electronics are a bad combination. I've seen phones get a few drops of water on them and never work right again. Mind you, I've also seen phones (old flip phones) go through both washer and dryer and continue to work for years.
Does your phone still work? Are you experiencing any problems? If the answer to both of those questions is no, you should be okay.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8530 phone dropped and possibly locked??? New to BlackBerry, please help!!

My phone was dropped in water.  I immediately removed the back and the battery.  Just a couple of drops of water under the back cover.  I dried it and put it on top of the microwave while running it for 10 minutes boiling water.  Put the battery back in and was able to send a text and place a phone call.  Piced the phone up an hour later to make phone call and was unable to do so.  The tracker ball will slide back and forth over my apps but when I push to select it will not allow me to do so.  I can't menu, Facebook, anything.  When I push on the phone icon, it doesn't work either.  It's acting as if maybe it's locked.  I just got this phone from a friend.  She upgraded to the Evo.  (sprint is my carrier)  It's all new to me.  Could it be that the phone is locked??  if so, how do I unlock it?

This video shows the SIM in the 8530, which is identical to my 8520. Some BB's receive SIM-free services although I wasn't aware that it included the 85xx's so if you don't have one, no worries.
