I-photo trouble

I am having a problem, I-photo will not do anything except give me the color wheel when I try to work with it.  This just happened and the trouble report shows at least 10 pages of repeat kernal errors.  I have shut down everything and restarted numerous times no help.... I'm using snow leapord 10.6 OS.  Need help!!  I have 18,000 pictures and can't afford this hassle.  What could be wrong?
Please someone get back to me ASAP.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
     User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
     User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

I am having trouble uploading photos to my Ipod. Once connected I select the Ipod options, I sychronize with the Photoshop Album (I have also tried selecting from different folders)once I hit okay, it begins to upload then...the error message: "The Ipod cannot be updated, The disk could not be read from of written to." What am I doing wrong? Can someone please help?

See if anything here helps: "-36 or "Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring iPod

  • 20gb Photo Trouble Need help badly

So my 20gb photo was working fine then all of a sudden it gave me thesad ipod. Then i tried everything possible to fix it and it didnt work. Then all of a sudden it kept asking for it to be plugged into a wall charger. So i plugged it in to one and it would then go the chargeing bar and freeze. is there ne way to fix this without having to basically buy a new ipod. PLZ HELP!!!.

This is going to sound stupid, but: drop it. Yes, I mean physically drop it, preferably on a carpeted surface from maybe around waist height.
My 30GB iPod Photo froze with a sad face while ago, and searching these very forums I found the "drop it" technique. I figured there wasn't much to lose, but it worked - who'd a thunk it?
Don't worry, you shouldn't cause any damage if you do it gently onto some thick carpet. The shock seems to wake the things right up. Let me know how it goes!

  • Printing from I photo trouble

i cannot print from i photo using an HP CP2025n printer....the error message displayed reads 'I photo quit unexpextedly while using HPprintsettings plug ins' it prints perfectly fine otherwise.....has anybody got any helpful suggestions please?

The easiest way to find that plugin is to download and use  Find Any File to search for HPprintsettings plug.  That will tell you where it's located.
The Apple HP driver package does not have a driver for that particular printer.  So I don't know what to tell you.  A workaround would be to do a Print ➙ PDF ➙ Open PDF in Preview and print from Preview.
You might create a new topic with your printer model in the title to catch the eye of any users with that same model.

  • Migration to Photos: Trouble with import from iPhoto Library

I have just upgraded to OS X Yosemite (10.10.3). When I first opened Photos, it wanted to convert my iPhoto Library to Photos. After some hours of working with the 165.2 GB iPhoto Library, it told me that I don't have enough disk space. I believed that if I free my MacBook Pro from those 165.2 GB, I might solve the problem. So yesterday, I stored it on an external USB drive (a solid state drive of OWC with USB 3.0 connection to my MacBook), deleted the iPhoto Library on my harddisk, and opened Photos. In Photos, I chose Menu > File >Import , and navigated to the external drive. However, clicking the file icon and name does not release into any import. What shall I do to import data from my iPhotos Libray?
Suggestions will be most appreciated and rewarded with a virtual box of Mozart Kugeln.

You don't import it, you simply open it:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch Photos. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'

  • Transfering photos trouble

I'm at my wits end... how do I copy photos from my MacBook (running iPhoto 08) over onto my wife's G5 iMac (running iPhoto 5), so that they actually show up in her version? Are they not showing up because my MacBook has a more recent version of iPhoto? I thought these things didn't matter so much on Macs?
Right now, I have an ethernet cable plugged into both, and have popped a folder full of photos from my MacBook into the drop-box. I can see it clearly on the iMac, and can open the photos on her screen. I can even drag and drop the whole folder into her Pictures folder, and can open/preview them fine there too. However... they don't appear in iPhoto.
So, when I try dragging and dropping the folder (or the individual photos) into an iPhoto window instead (which always seems to work on my MacBook if I've been sent photos via email, etc.), I just get a series of messages (equivalent to the number of photos I'm trying to copy over, saying; "couldn't open blah blah blah", and then a summary message saying "unreadable files: xx The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)".
I'd be very grateful for some help, O Wise Ones!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Export the pics from your Library (File -> Export) to a Folder on the desktop.
Copy that folder to her machine.
Import to her iPhoto (either drag and drop to the iPhoto Window or File -> Import.
IF you get that "Unreadable File" message, try open the files in Preview and save them. Then try import them again.

  • 5th gen ipod photo trouble

When I synced my photo into my ipod, my ipod can't display all the photo that synced and most of the photo cannot display correctly.......how can I do?

Open Windows explorer and locate your iPod. When you open it you'll see some folders on of which will be Photos. Inside the Photo folder you'll find a folder for "Thumbs" (the photos optimised for viewing on the iPod) and if you have it enabled in preferences to "Include Full Resolution photos" you'll find another for "Full Resolution" open this one and drag the photos to your hard drive.

  • Ipod classic photo troubles

I have an 80g iPod classic, and am using a spanking new macbook 13". up until now, everything worked fine, but then I noticed that whenever I plugged my iPod in, it synced ALL of my photos again and again. When I looked, the photos were not on the iPod when it was disconnected. After investigating further, I've found that not all of my iCal calendars are being synced either. I've checked the options in iTunes and they're all set to all sync. Can anyone help?

I have a new 120gb iPod Classic, and only 2 of my iCal calendars sync...At first, they would all sync if I re-synced the calendars, but not anymore. They are not in folders either. All my photos seem to sync with the iPod

  • I am Having iPod Photo troubles.

My ipod photo has been having some issues.  I plug it into the wall or dock and I get the extremely low battery symbol.  Eventually it goes to the apple logo as if it is turning on, and most times it will not turn on.  SOmetimes however it DOES turn on, but with issues.  It shows that it is charging, but if I do anything it either frrezes and restarts or tells me I am out of battery, while it shows the charging icon in the top corner.  I have tried a reset on the device many times, as well as a factory reset through Itunes and nothing has resolved this issue.  Do I need a new battery, or is there another issue?  Thanks in advance, Bearclaw117.

So the ipod is currently sitting on a dock and it shows the logo as though its going to start, but then goes blank and then repeats the thing over and over

  • Trouble accessing photos.

Hello! Need help! Having trouble accessing photos from Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0, I had a free trial but never registered the program because I was not using it. The other day I was taking pics off a Canon camera, & they automatically loaded into that site. I selected cancel several times, but the program did not respond. Once they completely loaded in, the program asked if I wanted to erase photos from the camera, I selected no but it started erasing them, I was able to stop it but 44 were erased off the camera. I can see the photos in the program but can not access them since I never registered. I tried to register now but received email saying that program has expired. So how do I get my photos? Please help! The photos are not mine, I was loading them from a friends camera, & they are important vacation memories to her! Thanks! Ruth

When you click on one of the thumbnails do you see a blank window where the full sized image?  Or do you see this in the window:
In either case make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Trouble importing photos from Panasonic camera

I'm getting error messages when attempting to transfer photos from my Panasonic camera to my Mac. Details:
    * Running Lion 10.7.4 on MacBook Pro
    * iPhoto '09 version 8.1.2
    * Brand new Panasonic DMC-ZS20
    * SanDisk 4 GB SDHC card, which I formatted using the camera function when I first installed it
This was my first weekend with the camera and I went out and shot 300+ photos. Used the USB cable that came with the camera to hook it up to my MBP. On the camera screen I selected the "PC" option. Camera disk appeared on my desktop and iPhoto loaded. iPhoto recognized the camera and displayed all the photos correctly. The problems happened when I tried to import them. I selected "Import All" and the first few 4 or 5 imported OK, and then it just hung there (little spinning circle and one photo file name displayed). Finally after a few minutes, I got the error message "The disk was not ejected properly" even though I hadn't touched the camera or cable. Photos that managed to import were fine - no corruption. Steps I took to trouble-shoot:
    * Tried reconnecting to iPhoto and this time importing them one at a time. This worked for a few and then again, it go hung up. Thinking there might be an issue with one particular photo being corrupted, I tried different photos from different parts of the disk. There seemed to be no pattern to the issues. A photo would hang one time, but then import fine the second.
    * Thinking it might be an iPhoto issue, I quit iPhoto and just tried to drag photos from the camera disk directly to a folder on my hard drive. I was able to open the camera disk and locate the photos (file names were like P1000150.JPG). But the same things happened when I tried to copy them to my hard drive -- a few would copy and then it would get hung up. I got system error messages -36 and -43.
    * I tried restarting my computer and restarting my camera.
    * At one point my camera got so "confused" that it wouldn't turn off, or even recognize that I had unplugged it. I finally had to take the battery out to reset it.
    * Thinking it might be an issue with a faulty SD card, I loaded the card into my printer's card reader and was able to transfer all photos without any problems. Photos look great.
    * In a possibly related issue, I tried to load the GPS data from the CD that came with the camera to my SD card, but it the GPS data would not load. Even though the card was empty (this was the day I got the camera, before I took photos) it kept telling me it needed 1.6 GB of space and I only had like 45 MB available… I'm typing these numbers from memory, not sure they are exactly right, but the point is that I had an empty 4 GB card and there should have been plenty of room.
So, is there anything else I can try here? Has anyone else had problems with Panasonics and Macs? Could it be an SD card issue, even though it worked fine in the other card reader? Or do I have a defective camera and need to send it back?
    Thanks,
    Jill

I finally figured out the source of my problem. I (foolishly) was connecting the camera to my computer through a USB hub. Turns out the hub was the problem. When I connected the camera directly to my computer, it worked just fine. Just figured I would post in case anyone else has the same issue.

I'm having trouble loading photos on my I phone 4s and I pod.  I don't see the photos tab in I-tunes? I'm sure its user error but wanted to get some help.

What's the origin of this external drive? It sounds very much like it's a Windows-formatted (NTFS) drive which Macs can't write to. If you can, copy the files off the drive, reformat it as Mac format (using Disk Utility) and copy the files back. If you need to continue writing to it from a Windows PC, you should format it ExFAT in Disk Utility.
