I photographed 4 ribbon cuttings for work, clicked "backup" on ITunes as always, and a pop up said it is in recovery mode. No new photos were on my ITunes acct, the cloud, my HP laptop, GONE Apple Store
Could someone please help me? I've never had a company employee admit that equipment I purchased and use on their equipment malfunctioned, when I did exactly what they told me to do, and the company whose equipment was programmed incorrectly assumes no responsibility, and is not willing to help me restore my property back to what it was before they got a hold of it and ruined it?
If you bring a dress to a dry cleaner and their dry cleaning machine has a glitch which ruins the dress, the dry cleaners will pay you for the cost to replace the dress, or they work to fix it themselves. If they need to send it out to get it fixed somewhere else, it's on their dime, not mine.
Then why, if Apple knows there is a glitch regarding IOS6 and incorrectly wiping out data and photo rolls rather than backing up and upgrading, then why don't they fix the problem, and in the mean time, for those victims like me, at least pay to get the data salvaged!
Better yet, couldn't they have an "undo" button, or "return the deleted items" or at least to send anything it thinks it should delete from the phone, to our hard drive on our equipment, in our "trash" folder, to give us a chance to view what they think should be deleted, in case we think it should be deleted?
Also, whatever happened to the pop ups, warning us that stuff was about to be deleted.... then another, saying "are you sure you want us to.....?"
Please tell me what you would tell me if I were your sister. Thanks....

Apple will not attempt to salvage it. They will offer you a replacement iPhone 4 for $149.

Error comes up in iTunes on check for updates "The iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection, or try again later." Currently connected to the internet, on HP Laptop running latest version of Windows 7.
I get the same problem running the diagnostics. Says network connections are present and in the green, but unable to connect to iTunes Store.I downloaded the Microsoft Autoruns package and ran it. There are no programs in the LSA Providers tab, and Apple's Bonjour is the only program in the Winsock Providers tab. I also did the "netsh winsock reset" and rebooted. It didn't fix the problem. Any more ideas?

Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

So tonight I updated my 4s over 3g to ios 7.1 it took forever and said connect to itunes. It said it was in recovery mode & needed to be restored but would wipe all content. I have never made a backup because my computers hard drive crashed (luckily the pics were on the phone) and now after updating like apple said I should it wants me to wipe my phone... I can't loose pics of my kids births and birthdays... I tried the holding buttons and letting off to exit recovery mode with no success... I don't know what to do but I swear if apple makes me loose the priceless pics of my kids I will never buy any apple device ever again... and I will make sure no family or friend ever does either... there has to be a way somehow.. some data recovery some program... I dunno if tinyumbrella can exit it for me without hacking or jailbreaking (which I don't dare/want to do) but i need a solution. I have researched this for hours and hours with no solution so far. If I have to pay $$ for it fine I will but after I recover my data that way I will be going to samsung... anyone with a solution would be greatly appreciated... any solution...

I have copied many photo's from another laptop to my Mac. The older photo's are in directories with names that help me select what I need to view. I would like to have all my imported new photo's also bee added to the directory structure I have in Finder but my new photo's are all in iPhoto. I want to use directories for storing and iPhoto for viewing. Is this possible or do I need to have all my photo's in iPhoto??
MitchiPhoto is not a Photo Viewer. It's a Photo Manager and designed for looking after the files while you organise the Photos. It really works much better if you let it manage those files. If you use iPhoto you never go near those files because iPhoto is your start point for anything you want to do with your Photos - the point of the pplication.
You can run iPhoto in Referenced mode, where it does not copy the files to the Library, but I caution you that you are making life a lot more difficult for yourself by doing that.

I have 2 gen ipod touch and I restore my ipod around 11:00 pm and now its 1:20 am and on my screen its the iTunes logo and the usb cord and when I plug my charger in my laptop .. iTunes comes up and this what it saids "iTunes has detected an ipod recovery mode. you must restore this ipod before it can be used with iTunes" so what do I do.. do I let my ipod died right out & then try it .. because I restore it ,... it was beening to slow... so please help me ?

Ipad 4 won't turn on at all, and is recognized by itunes as being in recovery mode- when I try to restore it stalls on the portion stating "preparing device for restore" and on the page it says "itunes is restoring the software." Been like this for a day. I read the restore notes on apple, but this seems to be a little more unique than the standard recovery issues. Any ideas as to why I seem to keep stalling during the restore process?
Couple of things I can think of before going to the Apple store.
First, if you can, power off the iPad. Then connect it to the charger that came with the iPad and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Leave it there at least an hour then try to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
Also, you mentioned you have the latest iTunes. But it would be good to check the actual version. If the iPad is running iOS 7 you need iTunes 11.1 or later. -

your MacBook Pro has booted into its Recovery mode. From the OS X Utilities menu, select Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it get to the login screen now? -
