I plan to install CS5.5 soon.

I have 2 other machines with Premiere CS5.0.3
Can I work in CS5.5 & save premiere project to open in CS5.0.3?
Like in photoshop or Acrobat.

Can I work in CS5.5 & save premiere project to open in CS5.0.3?
There is no explicit backwards compatibility. It may work, but probably won't. I would not count on it to work. You might be able to work around with AAF or FCP XML export, however. Again, not an ideal workflow.
You can probably safely go from CS5 to CS5.5, but CS5.5 to CS5 is taking a risk.

  • Co-Install CS5.5 & 6.0

I have a copy of CS 5.5 Design Standard and I recently received a copy of CS6 Production Premium. I'm hoping to be able to install both on my new Macbook Pro under OSX 10.8.1 - Mountain Lion. (The only overlap is Photoshop and I'd take that from CS6)
Does anybody know if there will be problems from installing different versions in this way?
    Thanks!
    Steve

Okay, thanks Mylenium. I will install and report back. I'm also planning to install Dreamweaver from CS4. Is that crazy under Mountain Lion?
Also, I'm planning to install in order:
    Dreamweaver CS4
    InDesign, Acrobat, CS5.5
    CS6 Production Premium (all)
    Make sense?

  • Trying to install CS5.5 web premium on a new Windows 8 computer

I am trying to install CS5.5 web premium on a new Windows 8 computer. I had installed it before but Illustrator would not run. I tried reinstalling just Illustrator that did not work. So I uninstalled the whole suite, and planned to reinstall the whole thing. But I get "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." So I download ASA, and try to run the .exe and nothing happens.

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, then try again. Also check this:

  • Uninstalling CS3 and Installing CS5.5 (Master Collection)

I purchased CS 5.5 master collection so that I could use the current CS3 master collection on another older machine.  My question is this: What is the best way to uninstall the CS3 master collection on my current machine (Windows 7 - 64bit) so I can then install the new full version CS5.5 master collection? Also, is there anything that I need to be aware of as far as backing up on the old software settings?  Just trying to avoid headaches.

The only thing you would need to worry about is any "presets" that you created yourself. So actions, swatches, brushes, etc. need to be backed up. Its best to uninstall cs3 before installing cs5 and not after as this can cause issues with file associations.
If the second computer that your were planning on putting cs3 on is your only other computer, you should be able to put cs5 on it instead, as the license is suppose to be for 2 systems, but only one can run at a time. To my knowledge this license doesn't take into consideration the version number of the software. So if cs5 if on your new system and a laptop for example, you can not put cs3 onto a third computer since the license is for what I assume to be an upgrade.
If you paid full price then the last paragraph is a moot point.

  • Installing CS5 on a Non-System/OS Drive

For the last few years I have been maintaining a desktop system where the only thing installed on my C drive was the windows XP OS.  All my programs files and data files were kept on other separate physical drives that I had installed into my desktop chassis.  This approach seemed to slow down the inevitable speed and efficiency degradation that happens over time as you install more an more programs on to your computer.  This was particularly evident in my boot up time as it continued be remain fairly quick.
I recently built a new machine but have yet to intall the OS and applications as I just haven't had the time to do it.  My new configuration includes a solid state drive on which I plan to install the OS, as you would expect.  That said, I realized that installing CS5 on to the other drive  (Western DIgital Caviar Green 1 TB SATA drive) may not give me the best performance when I am using applications like photoshop.  I'm curious if anyone out there knows whether installing CS5 on a normal SATA drive as opposed to the solid state system drive will make a difference in performance?  Or is it enough to simply set the SSD drive as the location for the scratch disk?
    Thanks for any advice!

Even if you tell the installer to  install  on a different drive, much of the Creative Suite will be installed on the system drive.

  • Remove CS4 after installing CS5

    Hi...
Just bought CS5 Design Premium upgrade (from CS4). While waiting for CS5 to arrive, I downloaded the trial version of CS4. This did NOT overwrite CS4. When I receive CS5, I plan on just putting the serial number in the trial version. That will leave CS4 on my computer.
    2 questions...
    1. Can I delete CS4 (after installing CS5) using add/remove without messing up the CS5 installation?
    2. If I remove the trial version and install CS5 when I receive it, will it automatically remove/overwrite CS4?
    Thanks for your help...

    1. Yes, but there's no good reason to do so.
    2. No, the trial is identical to purchased version. Just enter your serial number and you should be good to go.

  • Do I need to install CS3 on Windows 7 64 bit before installing CS5 Upgrade?

I am replacing a graphic designer's Windows Vista laptop with a Dell Precision T5500 desktop.  Do I need to uninstall CS3 from the laptop and decommission the serial number?  Then do I need to install CS3 on the new desktop before installing the CS5 upgrade?  I was told I needed to decommission the installation, but I don't remember having to do that with other installations.  Thanks in advance!

You should definetly deactivate any software before uninstalling. But you don't have to install CS3 in order to install CS5. Just have the serial number handy for verification. That said, depending upon the user's needs, you might want to leave CS3 available.

  • How do I install CS5 on my new iMac?

I have just bought a new iMac.  My problem is that I want to install my photoshop CS5, which I own on disc.  As there is no disc reader on the iMac, I tried downloading photoshop CC and entering my serial number - which wasn't accepted ( it's the only photoshop I could download, was hoping they would recognise my serial number and install CS5 for me).  My question is:  How can I download/install my CS5 without buying an external disc reader?

You can download photoshop cs5 from here.
Just follow the Note:Very Important Instructions or the download links won't work.

  • Error in installing CS5

    Hello,
I have tried to install CS5 in my MacBook Air OS 10.8.5
    I installed all the programs
Bridge, Device Central, Extension Manager, Illustrator, InDesign, Media Encoder, Photoshop
but I do not succeed in installing Acrobat X Pro: I have tried 2 times and always at the end reported this message:

    Can you help me?
    Thank you

I thank you very much but in the meantime I have found a workaround to solve the problem:
    Instead of starting from
    DVD CS5_5 Design Std 1 / Adobe CS5_5 Design Standard / Install.app
    i tried from
DVD CS5_5 Design Std 1 / Adobe CS5_5 Design Standard / payloads / AcrobatProfessional10.0-ISDP, where I launched Adobe Acrobat X Pro Installer.pkg and it worked successfully.
    Anyway, thank you again indeed

  • I am trying to Install CS5.5 on a new computer and it is saying my product key is valid but a qualifying product cannot be found.

I have Adobe CS 5.5 with a valid product key (On the original box) but it wont install on my new work computer. This product is owned by my company and has been used in the past on my old computer.
I enter the product key and get the customary Green Check Mark:
I Click "Next" and it displays the screen below. I do not have any CS 5.5 programs installed on this computer. (It is brand new - opened and set up this morning)
I used this disk to install CS5.5 on my previous computer which has crashed and did not need to Upgrade anything. I do not have any other product keys to use for the second box and I have found nothing on this problem in the forums.
Any help is appreciated, I am at a loss.

Never share your serial number in a public forum or other non-private communication.
For the second image you show you need to follow the instructions.
You copy of CS5.5 appears to be an upgrade version.  THis means it was made available at a reduced price because you had an earlier version that you upgraded from.  The second image you show is asking you to provide the information for that older version as proof that you qualify to activate/use the new one.

  • HT1899 Hi!!! i am planning to install window 7 at my imac ( OX mountain loin - version - 10.8.....). after buying  windows cd what would be procedure to install the same and this is compitable to run  normal programme of Microsoft or not... pls help me on

    Hi
I am planning to install window 7 on my imac ( version - ox mountaion loin - 10.8.2,  purchase this year in may 2012) but before installing the same pls let me know what i would required means - is there required any special  software or  hardware.... or is there any different cd for mac windows.....
    Thanks,
    Punit Garg

    You require Windows 7.
Windows 7 is the same and will run the same as it would on a Windows computer. All programs that run on a windows computer will run on your Windows once installed. You will need anti virus software for your Windows partition. Microsoft Security Essentials is free and it works well.
Read the help files before installing http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/.

  • Is it possible to install CS5 or CS5.5 on a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM MacBook Pro running 10.6 (Snow Leopard)?

Is it possible to install CS5 or CS5.5 on a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM MacBook Pro running 10.6 (Snow Leopard)?

Hi Carolyn, thanks for your quick reply. First thing I did before posting my question was to check the system requirements for Creative Suite, both on Apple and Adobe's websites. But I am however confused about the difference between "Multicore Intel processor" vs "Core 2 Duo", and keep hearing stories about CS5 not working properly.

  • How do you install CS5 onto a new computer without Time Machine/file transfer

I'm not getting a new computer, but my current one is getting a little old (Macbook Pro V. 10.6.8) and I'm afraid it might crash if I download the newest Maverick system, which is why I want to make absolutely sure I'm able to save and transfer all my old files and CS5 Creative Suite programs if this indeed happens. I don't trust Time Machine to do it; my boss had this happen and Time Machine did not transfer the Adobe programs. I also don't want to rely on Time Machine and any other file transfer (which all new Macs offer) because I've had brand new computers crash because of old corrupt files from my old computer converting over, and the Apple people said it's a bad idea (which would have been nice to know BEFORE the computer crashed and everything. . .) I've been told you can only use the CD to install CS5 onto your computer twice, which I've already done (thanks to my brand new computer crashing once already). So I would like to know how it's possible to install the program onto a new computer should this one crash, without the use of file transfer or Time Machine. I have no interest in upgrading to CC.
    Thanks!

Avoid using Time Machine for re-installing Adobe software. It rarely works and usually breaks the activation mechanism.
I've been told you can only use the CD to install CS5 onto your computer twice,
    Not quite.
You can install the software as many times as you like but you can only activate the software for use on a maximum of two computers at the same time.
To re-install you will need your CS5 serial number.
Download the installer from Download CS5 products
Install then enter your serial number when prompted.
