thats tough man, yeah exchanging it is the best option. But why do people always leave a message saying" i'll probably just by an ipod" and it's usually followed by, "even though i don't like apple or ipod" . I mean fine, if u feel like giving up on the zen micro thats fine, i personally don't care if you're going to buy an ipod. for god sakes ipod isn't even the next alternati've mp3 players, theres plenty. Are u just trying to get the creative people saying "oh man we lost another one to ipod" cuz i'm sure they don't lose sleep over u wanting to buy an ipod instead of a zen. *done ranting*

  • New or modified iTune playlists only play one song then stop.

My wife changed the settings on iTunes last night.  New, or modified playlists only play current songs then stop.  Existing playlists work normally.
    OS X 10.8.5 (12F45)  iTyens 11.1.3 (8)

Are the songs on the CD from different artists?
If so, then if you are going into MUSIC -> ARTIST -> Christmas CD and hitting PLAY, it will play the songs from THAT ARTIST on THAT CD, probably only one.
What you'd have to do is go on your iPod: MUSIC -> ALBUM -> Christmas CD. By doing this, you'll play every song from that album regardless of artist.

  • How to play one song then stop on iPhone?

iTunes playlist on my computer can play one song then stop because there is the uncheck all songs feature, but apparently iPhone doesn't have the same feature.
Need to play one song then have it stop instead of going to another song in the playlist. Creating 20+ single-song playlists is inefficient.
I know there is the Play on Cue app for $1.99 but why should I have to have another app on my phone do what iTunes on my computer already does built-in (play one song then stop)?

"Creating 20+ single-song playlists is inefficient." Please read next time.

  • ITunes radio on my iMac plays 1 song then stops playing

I'm currently running iMac 10.9 with iTunes 11.1.3.  Starting today, when I play iTunes Radio, it plays 1 song then stops.

Have you tried closing and restarting itunes or restarting the computer? I've had itunes get squirrelly before, and close and reopen took care of it.

Why does my apple tv play one song then stops streaming?

Make sure all of your songs have a checkmark next to the song title. There are small blue boxes that need to be checked for songs to play consecutively.
If the library is unchecked, you can easily recheck things by clicking on a song, going to the top line selecting Edit>Select All, then right clicking on the selection and choosing "Check Selection".

  • Unable to play "some" songs on my iPod touch

    Hi there!
I've got an iPod touch 8GB with 1.1.4 firmware (with SW upgrade purchased from Apple).
    I've got a MacBook running Leopard 10.52 & using iTunes 7.6.1 (9).
My problem has just started today (Monday). The iPod touch was fine on Friday.
The problem is some songs won't play! Others will play - but eg - 1 in 6 songs will play. The other 5 won't! Not good
This happens if you select by "Song" or "Artist" or even playlist.
If I press play then single tap the album art to reveal the play bar (where you can see the play time) - the playtime permentantly says "0:00".
If move to the next song - and that doesn't play, I'll move to the next. Then to the next - and so on - until a song does play. I've tried moving back to a non-playing song .. but no joy!
All the songs I've got were purchased & downloaded from iTunes. And ALL songs play OK on my MacBook through iTunes.
    I have tried :
    a) Resetting the iPod touch. Power key & Home pressed for 15 seconds. No joy!
    b) Restoring my iPod touch twice using my backup. No joy!
    c) Restoring my iPod touch and setting it up as a new iPod .. then syncing all my music over. No joy!
Apple's technical support after 1hr - couldn't solve it and suggest that I take my MacBook & my iPod touch to the Apple store in London for them to help diagnose it.
Does anyone have any other things I could try ? It would save me a journey to London. !

Okay, I think I've solved this.
Problem: Intermittent, but consistent of songs NOT playing. Attempted to play via Songs, Albums, Artists & Playlists. When the problem occurred - the playtime of effected song would permanently stay "0:00" - move to the next song. The fault had reproducebility of 5 in 6 songs not playing.
Solution. I think the problem was a corrupted playlist. This is what I did - BEFORE - solving the problem.
Restored my iPod back to factory settings.
Setup iPod as a NEW iPod.
Re-Sync copying across PlayLists from iTunes.
This did NOT resolve the fault (Tried this 3 times)
    i) So, restored iPod back to factory settings and setup asa NEW iPod.
ii) NO syncronisation was performed between iTunes and iPod. (The iPod had NO music, no playlists - NOTHING)
iii) Deleted ALL playlists from iTunes. Except the Party Shuffle - which you can't delete anyway.
iv) Created a NEW playlist in iTunes.
    v) Copied a range from music to the PlayList (Started off small number. 1, 5, 10, etc)
vi) In iTunes - specified that the only thing to be syncronsied was the PlayList that was newly created
vii) In iTunes - Sync to iPod.
The first time I did this - it only sync-ed 1 song. I made sure, that the first song that sync-ed was a song that couldn't play.
    Guess what ? It worked!
I continued selecting ranges - and syncing. I made sure that all songs were ok - as I played the first couple of seconds of each song - every time I synced. I have 77 in total. Not much, I know
Not suggesting that you sync 10 of your songs out of 50k then re-check, then sync again etc etc.
What I mean - is try it for a small number. If it works for the first 10 of your syncs then it should work for the others.
Wonder if the playlists are stored as XML on the iPod touch. If so, wonder if it was a case of the XML not being sync-ing to it's DTD .
I dunno. At least my iPod touch is working now. Hope this helps somebody.

  • Play one song then stop

I'm trying to find a way for a 25 foot tall sculpture of Elvis standing in a jukebox to play one Elvis hit song randomly by being activated by a motion detector. Can the iPod Shuffle be activated to play just one song, then stop or turn off. Then be activated again, by the motion detector, and play another single randomly selected song and then stop or turn off, waiting to be activated again by the motion detector?
I was hoping the iPod shuffle would be able to do this, being the least expensive iPod. I've tried reading the online manuals and help files, but I can't find any info about whether it could accomplish this one-random-song-play-and-then-stop feature.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Since a shuffle has mechanical controls (buttons) for controlling its play, it would seem to be poor choice for this purpose... ALTHOUGH a 1st Gen shuffle AND a speaker system which specifically interfaced (dockable) to it with external controls that included a remote would work. As would any iPod which is remotely controllable...

  • Alums only play one song, then stop

I recently purchased Itune Christmas albums and also loaded my own Christmas albums. It plays one song on the album and returns to menue on all these new loaded music. All songs are on the IPOD, it just does not proceed to next song on album. Please help!

Are the songs on the CD from different artists?

  • How Can I Play All Songs On My IPod Touch at Same Volume?

I have an IPod Touch 5th Generation which I bought this year. I also have a 4 year old  Apple IMac desktop with ITunes version  11.0.4(4).
I have the latest version of OS Mountain Lion.
I sync songs from ITunes on my IMac desktop to the IPod Touch. Songs play back at different volumes on the IPod Touch.
I want them all to play at the same volume.
Almost all of the songs in my ITunes on my IMac were downloaded from many different music websites,
very few from the Apple Store.
I also have an IPod Nano 5th Generation which I bought a few years ago. I copied songs from ITunes on my desktop to my IPod Nano.
But I did not sync them. Just transferred or copied many of the songs from ITunes, without syncing.  The ITunes songs appear to play at equal volume on
my IPod Nano but not on my IPod Touch. For Settings on my IPod Touch, I set Sound Check to On.
Regarding ITunes Preferences (ITunes is on my desktop IMac):
The Sound Enhancer and the Sound Check are both checked, and have been checked for a long time. Therefore all the songs
on my IPod Touch should all be played at the same volume, shouldn't they, since they were synced from ITunes.
Doesn't the Sound Check on ITunes control that?
If they all play on the same volume on my ITunes, shouldn't all songs play on the same volume on my IPod Touch?
I noticed today the Crossfade in ITunes Preferences on my IMac was not checked. I thought it had been, but maybe I accidentally unchecked it one day.
I checked it today but was not sure what time to put on it. I put the time in the middle, which is about 6 seconds. Not sure if this is OK.
I'd like one song to come on just about when the previous song ends. Any suggestions? (There does not seem to be a Crossfade option
in the ITouch Music Settings). If I use Crossfade in ITunes, will it crossfade when I play the IPod Touch, since it synced the ITunes?
Also, I have the music setting for EQ on my IPod Touch set to OFF. I assume I don't need this, but please let me know if I do.

Settings>Music>Sound Check will HELP to normalise the volume of your music but it only averages it out.

  • How can I play my songs from my iPod that are no longer in my computer

When I go to my iPod under devices and click "Music" it shows all the songs I have on my iPod but it's all grayed out and I can not play them from here. Now at first I thought you just couldn't do it but my brother for some reason can... None of his songs are grayed out and they let him play it straight from his ipod.

he is manually managing his ipod song list
where as i am assuming you syncing your music automatically, if you change to manual management you will lose all of your music and have to resync it.

  • Airtunes plays two songs then goes silent

After playing two songs using airtunes the volume cuts out on both the computer and the remote speaker while itunes continues to play the songs albeit silently. To reinitiate the audio I have to select a new track.
The iMac I am streaming from uses airport to connect to multiple airport n enabled base stations that use the same name so that it picks the base station with the strongest signal strength. All of these base stations are networked together using gigabyte ethernet so the route to the particular airport express i'm streaming to varies.

Hi, I have the same problem since a few months. Note that this does not only affect airtunes devices. Also my default line-out goes silent. It happens completely random. Sometimes after 1 track sometimes after 20 tracks or anything in between.
Pausing and unpausing the currently (silent) playing track also makes it audible again.
Strangly if a silent track is playing all the next songs in queue play silent. Unless you skip or pause the song...
    odd.

  • IPhone-only play one song then quits. After update

My Phone seems to have a problem where it only plays one song out of a playlist and maybe 2 seconds out of the next song and it quits the program and goes to the home page. The audio books don't seem to remember to start where they quit also. Worked fine before upgrade. Haven't tried to reset phone yet. Thanks for help.

Upon resyncing with my laptop this am the bug seemes to be gone and both problems have corrected them selfs. All songs play like they should and the audio books do remember where they stopped at.

  • Ipod plays 5 songs, then goes silent, often showing Cover Flow as ghostly boxes.

It does this mostly on newer albums. I've already tried: Latest iTunes, latest iPod software, reset, restore, and finally return/exchange for brand new 160 gb. Still!
I can fastforward to the 6th and subsequent songs to play them.  But if I fastforward anytime before the 5th song is over, it will usually still stop after the 5th song.  When I turn the screen on after a freeze, the album covers are often gray & white squiggly lines.  I did get the Red X of Death one time yesterday, but that went away.
The iPod is fully charged.  The only non-standard setting I have is EQ (equalizer) set to Rock.  Remember this is my second iPod having this problem About all I haven't tried is uninstall/reinstall iTunes -or- Restore iPod from Disk Mode.  Whoever solves this should win the Nobel Prize.
    Suggestions?

Since the problem has been persistant across two different iPods, it seems like that the issue is with the tracks themselves.  You said most of the tracks giving you problems were purchases from the iTunes Store.  Do they stil play okay in iTunes?
Either way, I would remove them from iTunes, redownload them again at no cost via iCloud and resync them over to the iPod Classic.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
